  • Learn about panic attacks, a trauma symptom often experienced by survivors of child sexual abuse. A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear that triggers severe reactions when there is no real danger or clear cause. Panic attacks are typically unexpected, can come on without any warning, and can last anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes. They can feel scary, and if you've never experienced one before, sometimes they can even feel life-threatening.
There are many things that can cause panic attacks, and one of those is a history of trauma such as child sexual abuse. If you are a survivor and you experience panic attacks, you are not alone.
At Saprea, we liberate individuals and society from child sexual abuse and its lasting impacts. We have services that help child sexual abuse survivors find healing from the traumatic effects that have often followed them into adulthood, as well as resources for parents and caregivers to learn how to lower the risk of child sexual abuse in their own homes and communities.
