Hi sir please help. I have a 2012 Polo Vivo CLP. Whenever I start the car it idle well then after maybe 1 minute or 2 it shows EPC on cluster the minute it shows EPC it starts misfiring and I have to turn off the key and turn it on so that it will idle.
Help..I had a new motor put in my 09 Ford escape & now my exhaust is loud when before replacing the motor you couldn't even hear it run...any suggestions on why replacing the motor would make my exhaust loud?
Does exhaust gasket make a hissing or weird sucking noise, while also pushing air out the intake... my car just started doing this weird symptoms out of nowhere 04 accord i4 auto
My catalytic converter was clogged, ended up punching out the old stuff inside with a 2$ rebar... The hissing must have been exhaust back pressure causing it to starve for air.... Had bad transmission symptoms along with the noise.
@@EduardoDiaz-v9d wow that’s wild. I’m trying to decide whether to gut mine or not while it’s off. I tried measure w a temp gun to see if it was working properly but being a precat I assumed it would read diff than a normal cat should anyways. Aren’t they made to build heat at idol to heat it up for main cat? Cause that’s what it was doing. 550 at front of cat 350 at back
@@KollynJ I took off the O2 sensor and a bunch of dust and particles came out mine, so I decided to gut it.. it runs way better now. But as for the heat I didn't measure mine, I just had a lot of hesitation and sputter climbing hills and it acted like a bad transmission. Mind you I just replaced the 5 speed automatic transmission from a wrecked working low mileage one, and it gave me no problems for a few months.. like new until this issue happen, as of now I've been running no cat for half a year.. love it but my wallet doesn't, waste so much gas.
@@EduardoDiaz-v9d I can shake mine and hear no rattles and blow directly through. I just wish I measured temp after an actual drive. This didn’t cause any codes for you?
Bro I also have misfires. I hope it is this gasket its a way cheaper fix. I had all the symptoms. I would smell gases even in a cabin and also under the hood. Its loud when sitting over night sounds like a tin can when adding gas ( my middle cat is empty btw, front ones I did recently) Also I had misfires. All of that points me to this gasket being bad. And here I was thinking its possibly a rod knock. Tomorrow or day after Im gonna check out the exhaust manifold to see the gasket and bolts . If there is anything lose or broke.
I have a failed gasket diagnosis being fixed today. It's an aftermarket manifold fitted 3 years ago by a wanker at BBR. I'm hoping the repair will fix an intermittent, random misfire that's been going on for 2 years and has cost me well over a £1000, including a foreign country breakdown, in replacement parts that have had no effect.
Let me help you guys out. If the exhaust manifold gasket has failed on your vehicle, you will smell a burning smell coming in through the vents, bad gas mileage, a ticking noise, reduced engine performance. Let me know if you have any more questions.
@@northwestmechanic8991 Hey thanks for replying yeah I hear the ticking noise and I do think I have a leak but I also don’t know if my MAP sensor is bad because my car started shaking badly and started blowing white smoke now it just idles with a shake
@@gasparandres1990 my 03 Honda Odyssey EX-L blows a little bit of white smoke out the tailpipe too but it's because moisture has built up a little bit and it's normal. Check the oil cap where you put the oil in and look at the dipstick too, if it looks like a milkshake then your head gasket is going out.
This is what im actually dealing with RIGHT NOW a small shake while in drive like a misfire or motor mount is bad, but in reality i needed this job done since i got my police interceptor… heavy ass ticket on repair and nobody wants to touch it

Very helpful! Thank you!

Will this cause a loud tick especially on a loud exhaust i get it at certain rpms as well
i believe so! i got the same thing mainly on downshifts i can her a rapid tick on the right side when close to a wall
Will it cause a misfire or a lean bank like a p0171?
Yes . Having the same issue. Misfire and slow leak of gas that you'd smell when you have on the heater or a.c

Did you install the manifold gasket?
Thanks

Possible intake manifold more likely than exhaust manifold. What’d you find out

I read somewhere else on the internet that it does indeed cause misfires
