  • 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 road test, only on Africa Sideways. Is the new Land Cruiser Prado the seven seater in the business? We've seen it can roll off-road, but what are its on-road mannesr like? Can it best the likes of the popular Ford Everest and ultra reliable Isuzu MuX? We take it on a scenic drive to find out.

I see the new Land Cruiser 300 has a new 3.3 litre diesel V6 with 225kw/700nm. That engine would do wonders to this already awesome Prado

Ja, the single tubo v6 would be brilliant in here.

The biggest engine in these is in the Lexus GX which is essentially the same vehicle just more complex, expensive and refined. The first gen had a 4.7 v8 petrol, second gen has a 4.6 v8 petrol.

Thanks for the info, pity they are both gas guzzlers, and no diesel....

I have a Prado 90 & not impressed with the ride as I’m used to Range Rover. What’s the 150 like compared to the Prado 90 on road & off road? I’m thinking of selling the 90 to buy a 150.

The 150 has a comfy ride, and won't leave you on the side of the road.

I was in the same position a few months ago. I’m a total convert. 10 years, huge LR fan at first. Test drove a brand new LC150 trying to convince myself to keep my hideously unreliable L322 Range Rover, thinking I’d hate it and love getting back into the RR
Honestly the test drive totally sold me. It was actually MORE refined and comfortable than my L322.
I have now sold that unreliable piece of junk and very very happy with my 2010 LC150, Can’t really justify or easily afford a nearly new one as they hold their value but the 2910 was bought cash, and time I sold the Range Rover only spent £5k to change to the Toyota. The 2010a aren’t quite as refined RR, or the newer 150s, but I am so so happy with it. No longer having the ‘ what’s going to go wrong today then ‘ dread when I push the start button
They aren’t for everyone but I for one highly recommend one.

@@Africasideways Interesting, thanks for info. Been test driving Prados, driven all three engines now. 3.0 D4D felt very agricultural to me. 2.8 changed the feel of the car, more refined, but didn't feel much quicker. V6 petrol finally made it feel like a luxury SUV. I may have to bite the bullet and suck up the petrol costs!

@@ZaZa-ra Good plan, the V6 has 200kw vs 155kw. No contest.
