    Excellent video! For an adv bike my opinion is that it should be easier to reach the air filter for maintenance.

      I agree. But, I’m so happy with all the rest of the motorcycle I’m happy to remove a few extra bolts to clean the air filter to be able to enjoy ownership of such a fantastic machine. Thanks for watching and commenting. Enjoy the dirt my friend. Cheers, ~Nate

    Yes they definately allow more dirt to the engine. It’s a proven fact.

    You make getting the plastics off look too easy. I find it a real battle! Just had mine off to add USB sockets in the console, install heated grips and prepare a power supply for a sat nav. Putting everything back hasn’t been easy and I have ended up with a bag of bolts left over!

      Thanks Jim. It’s easy to forget the two bolts at the bottom of the tank and the two inside the bowling near the triple tree. Let me know how I can help. Thanks for the watch and comment.

      Thank you Lutfi, the K&N Air Filter number is BM-3117. That is the factory K&N number which will bring up the right filter from other distributors if you can’t get it directly where you are located. Thank you for watching and commenting. Cheers, ~Nate

    Awesome, thanks for this dude, it'll be the next job on mine. Did you notice any performance changes at all?

    • @NateJennings
      @NateJennings  Рік тому +1

      Connor G, thank you for watching and commenting. I originally installed the air cleaner the same time as my Akrapovic exhaust system and other protection items. So I did notice an improvement in performance but also the additional weight I added, so a give and take. You can definitely hear the intake sucking air now!!! Cheers, ~Nate

    Hello, I watched your video, very cool. I have a question, Do you know the way to replace the front turn light in this bike?? Thanks in advance

    • @NateJennings
      @NateJennings  Рік тому +1

      Rodrigo: Great question, as it baffled me at first as well. The way I reinstalled a misplaced signal once was the hard way. I removed the front fender and tank cover to gain access to the wiring and hard to reach bolt. I’m currently out of town without my motorcycle or I would give a better explanation or how to video but might be able to accomplish that in the near future for you. Hope this helps and keep enjoying that 310. Cheers, ~Nate

    Question. You mentioned the spark plug. So would this also be a good time to replace the spark plug? I've got about 11,000 miles on mine and the BMW service book says to replace the plug at 12,000 miles. I don't know how much more I have to remove or go through to get to the plug. I have a 2022 but as far as I know, nothing changed between 2018 and 2022.

    • @NateJennings
      @NateJennings  Рік тому

      Yes, it would be a good time to change the plugs. The only thing left to do is remove the tank and have the proper thin wall socket with extension to remove the plug. Remove the vent hose from the tank fuel filler (most likely green) then remove the rear tank mount bolts, disconnect the fuel quick release and the fuel pump pigtail and you can freely remove the tank from the Moto and replace the plug. Hope this helps and thank you for the view and comment.
      Cheers,
      Nate

    I saw right? You already have a k&N filter and trow away? It’s supposed you have to service the filter clean and put oil on it, and reuse I do on my cars I have the kit

    • @NateJennings
      @NateJennings  8 місяців тому +1

      You are correct, I did already have a K&N filter on the bike and replaced it after 25,000 miles of hard off road, to include, three trips up the MABDR, the Colorado BDR, and just finished the Trans American Trail that month. During which it took on lots of desert sand and mountain mud, two dunks in a river and a swarm of locust that left guts and particles that just needed to go. I washed that filter multiple times before replacing it with a new one just to make this video, so it wasn’t a complete waste. Thanks for watching.
      Cheers,
      ~Nate

    Did u have any problem when riding off-road with this air filter? Does it bring more dirt in the engine?

    • @NateJennings
      @NateJennings  2 місяці тому

      Good question, it will allow more fine dirt particles in due to the more porous material used, almost like medical grade gauze. But, if you keep it cleaned and oiled properly it will still keep most dirt particles out of your engine. I have almost 40,000 miles on this G310GS now and don’t have any engine issues related to intake or anything else for that matter. This engine is a beast, I’ve sank it for four times under water in three different states across the country and it still keeps pumping out tons of fun and reliability. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers, ~Nate
