I had a revelation today- our bodies are really impatient things... I was nebulizing an antibiotic, mixing an IV antibiotic, and my feeding tube started beeping! They all wanted attention at the same time! haha. If only they could learn patience! How are you guys doing today? Tell me something random... what did you eat for lunch?

The Frey Life I just had KFC for lunch at the laundromat as we're trying to get hubby ready for his 24hr sleep study!
I def understand abt every part of the body wanting attention at once! The hardest thing for me this year is juggling my endo pain with fibro pain with cfs fatigue and migranes and hyperthyroidism and trying to get stable enough for a total thyroidectomy and ahhh!! It really can be a juggling act!! I really appreciate your videos! Your attitude towards it all encourages me so much!! Always praying for you Mary! And Peter and Ollie too! 💜🐕❤

Well, I had a delicious turkey club sandwich for lunch. So good! Then I saw a poodle the same size and color as Ollie, but it was a girl. I shall dub thee Olivia! She'd be a good date for Ollie.

I agree with one viewer. You need a pillow and blanket in the car the both of you in case you need it and snacks and bottles of water in case you get stuck in traffic or weather. Oh yeah Kitty Litter too. For those that do not know you use that for the tires in case it snows for traction. The Christmas lights were gorgeous. I live close to Dollywood. They have over one million lights there. It is gorgeous at Christmas.

So sorry it was a rough drive home but I admire your celebration of being together and enjoying dinner and the lights. Thumbs up to Peter for taking a break at the rest stop, for Mary for facing terrible body feelings with such a sweet smile - almost always - and for Ollie holding it all day until he got a break. LOL Love you guys.

Got a card from the post office that I had a parcel. So excited, raced over to pick up my Ollie Bundle. They couldn’t find my parcel, so she asked me to describe it. I explained all about the bubble wrap mailer with a big Ollie face on it. Imagine my disappointment when it turned out it was only my Roomba, in a cardboard box. ☹️ can’t wait for Ollie-boy to arrive.

I feel many ppl give thumbs down as in they don't like what Mary is having to go through...like they are empathetic and not realizing it's about video ratings and whatnot. After all it's weird to thumbs up when things arent going so well...except Facebook with years of limited reactions taught us a thumbs up just shows support for whatever the situation is even if it's not so good.

allisoneuph1 that’s amazing! I know your excitement right now! They are brilliant, brilliant dogs! Annnnnnnnd THEY DON’T SHED! So no need to worry about that clean up and no need worrying about being in a close space with anyone who has allergies to dog fur. Although make sure you keep up with the ears most important. Poodles are notorious for ear problems... just make sure the hair is plucked or kept short and clean inside his ears. And clean the inside anyway every once in awhile to make sure there isn’t “Goop” .

Watching your vlog today vs the traffic pretty much summed up my day today. After making calls all week long following an ER visit last Saturday and the issues from that visit were getting worse not better and trying to get a doctor to tell us something we finally get a call on a Friday asking us to come to the clinic at 3 PM and just expect to wait while they fit us in. Of course that meant that we got into see the doctor and got done with the appointment right at the start of rush hour. Sadly we are no longer at the Children's Hospital with no parking fees so staying in the garage or sitting around the hospital waiting out rush hour is not too cost effective. Its just ends up being frustrating. At least you guys had options :)

I grew up in Boston and back in my youth the Christmas lights were few and very simple. That is not to say that they weren't magical. I still remember the feeling inside me when the first lights appeared. Not at T-day as now, but about the 15th of Dec. The anticipation was delicious! 😊 When I see Boston's lights now, all I can think is "I didn't know the city could be so beautiful, at night, in the rain, in December". Thanks for taking us on tour in spite of your long, difficult day😍🤗 😇

St. Augustine, Fla. is much older than Boston. It's the oldest city in the United States. I live in L.A., which goes waaay back, 1781 to be exact. But most people back east don't know that fact. Boston is a very beautiful city, but way too cold for me. I don't know how people live having to wear coats and mittens all the time. I love t-shirts and jeans all year long.

The kid walking in made me curious about the functioning of the clinic- I'm assuming that because cf patients can be dangerous for eachother due to the different infections etc, then there's some rules around hygiene/contamination etc. Are they only allowed to take a set number of patients a day to allow time for cleaning etc? Are there set protocols for cf clinic to minimise transmission of certain infections? Sorry, long winded but I love all things medical :) lots of love from new zealand x

The child who wanted to walk in the room and pet Olli hasn't to be a CF-patient, because in Boston is the CF-clinik in Boston Children Hospital. • @katieg3309
      @katieg3309 6 років тому +2

Hi, I'm a CF patient as well & at the adult clinic that I go to, the patients call from their cars to check in and the nurse calls you on your cell phone when they are ready. They will meet you at the front door where they have a mask & hand sanitizer waiting for you & take you straight back to your room. They also run large medical air purifiers in each room, sanitize all surfaces between patients, and require the room to be vacant for 30 minutes between patients to reduce infection risk.
While I was still in the pediatric clinic, we had to wear a mask, but patients would wait in the same general area, and there was no 30 minute room vacancy between patients.
Also my pulmonary doctors have always seen CF patients one day per week (Wednesday's at my clinic) so all of the other people there are CF patients as well, but that may now be the case at every clinic.

    • @nibindringiel

I know! She is so incredibly strong! Coughing is hard work. And with the mucous it must be more like a heavy pneumonia than a regular cold, right? I have astma and am prone to airway infections. Whenever I get pneumonia I turn into the most pathetic whiny mess. But next time I will not complain, but be thankful that my lungs can clear up again! Let's be honest, I'll probably complain...a lot. But I will also be thankful and not take for granted my healthy (relatively) lungs!

Me too! I've had a few rough weeks of coughing earlier this year, accompanied by heavy nosebleeds, caused by bursting blood vessels due to the hard coughing fits. I can't imagine what it must be like for her...having to deal with this every single day...

Anne, I had a cold last week, albeit and VERY BAD COLD, and coughed my brains out, oh my abs, I could not move, my abs were KILLING ME!!! All I could think of is no wonder Mary has such a strong core!

That’s why she’s so thin and needs at least 6,000 calories a day to survive (the thing about the calories is something she said in a video long time ago).

Mary, I don't know about your body because everyone reacts differently. However, sometimes when you do a fast intake of sugar to counteract hypoglycemia the pancreas reads it as a need for extra insulin. It's an odd balance. My father has low blood sugar and always had Juicy Fruit gum with him. It's great you have the new gauge (sorry, I can't remember what it's called). BTW, I used to be a nurse and took care of a lot of diabetic patients. They can drop low sometimes and that can be an emergency. TMI. God Bless.

My car is the next alternative to actually laying down in my bed. I'm sure you do but, I try to think through oat usual possible situation , and then, try to determine how my body might like to butt in! 😷😅

My medication is delivered to my home, and they make sure I'm there. It's weird to me, that I'm that "special". The other things I get at the pharmacy but since this is in a trial (and I'm a volunteer!) They courier it to me. I once asked how much it costs and it is $200 + for a delivery. But the company pays it as they want to see if they can get approval for this drug to be used in the US. Still, I can't miss a dose, so... the company said they had to go to couriers as holiday time played havoc with deliveries. It's like you can't get it until you NEED IT, but when you NEED IT, you NEED IT NOW! :) It seems to be helping. And if nothing else, it will help others in the future. But it is very "fancy" to have the home delivery.

I know you guys love Christmas/Christmas lights, I don't know if you've ever heard or gone to it, but there's a place in Attleboro Mass called La Salette Shrine and they have a huge beautiful set up of Christmas/Holiday lights. It's really beautiful I've gone there almost every single year of my life except the last 2 and I'll probably go after Christmas but it's beautiful. but very busy on Fridays/Saturdays mainly!

My mom works as a clerk at the usps and from thanksgiving to Christmas a clerk and the delivery people have to work on Sunday’s because there are too many packages so they have to go in at 5am to meet the amazon truck, sort packages, and then the delivery people deliver because if they wait until Monday the number of packages is more than the offices can handle/distribute. My mom works at a small town office and they have as many as 250 packages on an average day to deliver so the delivery carriers have to make multiple trips back to their office because they. Can’t fit all the packages and mail into their vehicles at once.

Could sure use some of that rain up in Boston down here in Dallas. We've got severe drought conditions, and well you've probably seen the near biblical like fires in LA/Orange County. It's madness!

    • @debradonley3825

Not really. It's pretty normal for this time of year here. Every year we have fires. Every.Year. It goes with having wonderful weather most of the year. These fires are so bad because we got some rain this summer and there's more brush to burn now. The Santa Anas aren't helping, either.

About UPS - to clarify - my daughter works for UPS and she works long, hard hours BUT UPS has just ordered all of its workers to work 70 HOURS A WEEK through the holiday season, which is inhumane, unsafe and just NOT FAIR. She works in Denver, but told me that the workers in BOSTON are fighting against it (which they SHOULD). So, that is probably why your shipment is late.

Please thank your daughter, and the rest of your family, for the work she does. I agree with Peter and Mary, I don't think delivery services, any of them, get enough credit or appreciation for what they do...year round but especially at the holiday time. They work so darn hard to get our mail and packages out while giving up their own time with friends and family. Just know there are people out there who are grateful for all of their hard work. There are so many other services that don't get enough gratitude for what they do. I've heard SO many people say, specifically about the medical field, that they knew this was the job when they decided to go into it. While that is definitely true, I think saying an extra "thank you" to people like your daughter or nurses, home health care workers etc would mean the world to them. My daughter just graduated from nursing school in May and while she was able to be home for Thanksgiving, she will be working both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We knew going into it that she would be working holidays but it is still hard. She is more than happy to put in the hours for those nurses who have children so they can be home Christmas morning with them and she knows that she won't have to work every holiday. But I think so many of the people who work in service positions just do so much during this time of year especially that a little extra patience and gratitude would be appreciated. Thank you again to your daughter :)

I can see a difference when my blood cells drop. When my white blood cells get low, my tongue turns white because I get thrush. But that's not until a certain point. When my platelets drop, I break out in petechial rashes and I start getting bruises from nothing. When my red blood cells drop I get pale and around my eyes turns pink and I start getting dizzy and my heart starts beating funny. Oh, and I get even more tired than usual.
