I remember this build series and I think this one of the most labor intensive out of them all. Definitely showed your skills and it was definitely a great one to see it when you drive it in and when it was driven out all finished. Night and day difference. Always doing the best work and never settling for less. The one thing I love about your channel is you always try to do it yourself and not just go out and pay someone to do it. You always are willing to learn/adapt the new skills needed to compete the builds. Your always transparent showing your flaws and everything. I will always support the channel and your journey!!!
I miss seeing this car in person! The new owner moved it to Minnesota and we would drive past each other every day(I was in the black evo 8 if you see this lol). The first day I saw it I immediately yelled “DEVIN”🤣. Saw it for sale and shame that it blew up on the new owner!
@@dannyoconnell5563 YESSS SIRRR! Can’t wait to see it down the street again! Unfortunately I get out at 5 now so chances are lower🤣. I was hoping that traffic would get us to be side by side so I could talk to you but you should pull up to the next grimmspeed meet!! I work there so you’ll for sure see me there!
Great to watch the transformation of this STI! On par with Chip Foose in the Overhaulin' days but Devin is one man dynamo while Chip had whole team. Great job Devin!!
Oh look Devin is taking out the engine and swapping it after fixing it! Wait, truckg gate is painted but I don't like, change it. Oh yes coil lowers are dirty, let's wash them. Nah, swap them. You gotta love this guy and his perfectionism!🔥💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
bro the way you built this subaru is beyond amazing literally one of my most favorite wrx sti hatch builds literally any other build does not compare to how slick the paint was and how everything blended together on top of the cosmis mr7 wheels
I loved that build, great to have it in an all in one video! Awesome gain of skills! Broke my heart tho to see it go, but thats all part of the biznes...
The work is amazing. For me, the perfect STI doesn't have this low quality widebody, and all the rep bumpers/spoilers etc. But man, what a transformation!
Somehow only JUST found your channel, and now I’m crazy sad I missed your month to month progress on this build….guess I gotta go binge the series😂 magnificent job man!!!
That's one hell of a 'money no object' transformation 👍🏻 One thing: those partially 'open' front fenders... They look nice, but what about stones and other debris destroying the paint? It would drive me nuts. Overall result is absolutely stunning 👌🏻
great vid. just makes me even happier knowing my career that I can just buy the car I want, the way I want. So I'm thankful for that. Just mad props homie.
I've been watching your video series bro. I honestly envy you, bro. You have all the money and resources to do all those things. Hope I can do the same with my Mazda 6 2019.
@Wings Wasted Talent Nah, I'm not aiming to make my car so fast, not competing at all. Just low profile wheels, a corksport or kns exhaust system, coilovers, a brembo brake set kit and a few upgrades under the hood. That's all I want for my car.
if i exclude the existence of body kit, thy holes in wings and those weird rims (by my taste). You do A LOT OF GOOD JOB. You do the job like you will keep this car for youself.
Man i miss my 04 STI, was fun as hell to drive and was fast as shit. Ringlands went and thats when I realized I wasnt the person for subaru ownership. Theyre amazing if youre willing to rebuild the motor any time you want to have more than stock fun, but thats all I was willing to put up with. I still miss it, just wish it wasnt my problem
Muito bom o projeto, vocês aí da gringa tem mais facilidade em materiais, peças e estrutura. O que não quer dizer que seu trabalho não seja de excelência. Projeto top, show, demais mesmo.
Man i like so much the way you work, i really do, every detail every single little thing. Congrats on that. one day i will start to work on my car too , just need to save so more cash, i learned a lot of thigs from your videos.
The hatch is still one of my favorite builds so far! So much trouble with that janky body kit. You probably would have been up better off just starting with a fresh kit but you definitely learned a lot. I hope this video doesn't mean you're going to sell it now?
Just started watching your series. Awesome work, really enjoy all your builds. Kinda makes me jealous, wish I could do this all day. That pop up paint booth is crazy, never seen that before.
@Dvniemela @Smeedia are my FAVE YT channels… both of you carry natural charisma and enthusiasm, attention to detail, willingness to try everything new and on your own, fearlessness to to stumble, humbleness to admit fault, and undying passion to “feel responsible” in updating your fans when you need a “time out”… we are all not worthy. Fact that both of you guys are in WA state rainy PNW is so damn cool… yet I am 30 mins north of the 49th Parallel and likely never get to drive by honk and wave “hi” just blows. I probably need to but a Subie first to qualify, though, LOL! If either of you are ever visiting up north in Vancouver 604 and see a white Tesla Model 3 w/ custom plate LETTIE, honk and chase me down to wave “hi”! And yes, LETTIE is full suspension modded and plan to be autocrossing next summer :D And yes, sadly I defected from my Honda blood, but I have tracked my old evELyn 2000 Acura 1.6EL and ripped through the reinforcement plates and rear subframe back in the mid-2000’s… I so dearly miss rev-matching and stomping on the brakes mid-corner to break away from full understeer shifting the weight for a split second or two sliding all 4 wheels then into forced oversteer at the big bend of Pacific Raceway… glory years for me, so vividly sweet. Watching both your channels really help fill that gas fume tinkering “what-if” void for me. I always thought if I ever left Honda, it will for sure be Subaru… little did I know, I was so wrong. Happy Holidays Devin and Tanner! Looking forward to what you both will endeavour in 2023! 👍👍
@Dvniemela SuSTi was when I first stumbled onto your channel… it is still my #1 favourite build of yours to date! I love hatchback STi’s and wish I had one myself… I was planning to save up to buy my buddy’s 2012 STi hatchback, but so sad, it recently caught fire on a work trip drive for him and co-workers in the middle of our snow storm blizzard in the middle of nowheresville… luckily they all got out fast and are safe, but all they could do was stand there and watch his beloved burn on the side of the highway, middle of the night/morning on a white snow covered backdrop 😭😭😭
Hey all that work and you sold hopefully you made money back and not lost money. Also I noticed there were parts redone and then you resprayed certain parts that you ended up changing out. I can put two together just didn't understand the motor being pulled three times and then other items being redone definitely interested to see what length you went to finishing your sti.
still by far one of my favorites.. how much would something like that cost me for someone to do this type of work on my wrx. just bought it but would love for someone to bring it to life like this. im pretty new to this type of stuff
Amazing video. It’s alway nice to see and be aware of the amount of work someone puts into their car. U can’t see this and not have an appreciation for it. Good work man. Love it
You have always been master installing those bodykits! I was wondering why did you grind open those original fenders and weld them? Greetings from Finland!

Go watch the hyper blue Evo 8 rebuild
Watched it today utterly amazing build talk about through job.
This is still my favorite build he has ever done! So much of Devin in that car!

Was just gonna say new guy blew it up. It’s been posted for sale for a while now
I remember that, over on broadway! I took it down and will be building it again.

Great to watch the transformation of this STI! On par with Chip Foose in the Overhaulin' days but Devin is one man dynamo while Chip had whole team. Great job Devin!!
Put the crack pipe down clown! CHIP is a master! Ridler award!
Have been following him for years now totally amazing and does all to a tee.

As far as youtube builds from the cradel to grave goes this by far one of the best hands on no montage just watching a dream being built builds go
The Subaru Sti Hatchback is one of my favourite cars of all time and i love the video as well.
This man’s literally took apart the entire car literally haha that’s some dedication fr
Actually the PERFECT one was the 18L blobeye STI, that is still my fav restoration/builds video of all time :D
Big fan of these Sti hatches. This was a very satisfying overhaul.
You learned so much about bodywork on this car, literally was your biggest learning piece I think. Great transformation!
bro the way you built this subaru is beyond amazing literally one of my most favorite wrx sti hatch builds literally any other build does not compare to how slick the paint was and how everything blended together on top of the cosmis mr7 wheels
hatchbacks have always held a special place in my heart, this one is no different..
Beast car man that build came out killer but all of his projects usually do
Boy, I remember this car. Good times, good times.
Sir, you are a one man Subaru ass kicking crew. A great video. 👍
the blue evo and the s2k hit me in the feels seeing them in the background
Man this guy goes next level on restoration!
I loved that build, great to have it in an all in one video! Awesome gain of skills! Broke my heart tho to see it go, but thats all part of the biznes...

Should have never sold that one. Probably the best build I've seen from you. Thanks for all you do!

There is so such thing as perfect in this world. Perfect is only with the eye of the beholder.
