- In this video I compare ALL THREE shot sizes that 3.5” LBXRs come in! #4, #5, and #6 all drop some deadly patterns, but which one is capable of 60 yards!?

That was a really good demonstration. No rambling on and on and on. Well done!
That was a good informative video
Good video, thanks for taking the time to put it together! Turkey loads hurt after a few rounds lol
They sure do! Haha
Have several boxes of LBs and had a lot of inconsistencies in my patterns lately. I’m considering shooting just 4s in double x and nitro magnums, my shots are usually 30 and in.
But I’m having some #3 nickel plated lead 1 7/8oz loaded up. I bought the black mamba just to try for those. My state has no shot size restrictions
Nice. I just picked up 2 boxes. Of 3.5 " #4's i have not shot them yet but there were$20 a box of 10. I'm about to pattern this weekend. I know then Winchester xx smells don't play. They will rock that shoulder.
Nice find! Good luck Jason!
Correction: the magnums are traveling 1050fps!
I made a big order a few years ago when I found them on sale. When I first got them they patterned great. We shot some through some guns last year and they did horrible. Thinking that resin doesn’t hold up well over time
That’s possible. I’ve heard that before.
@heathatford… It’s not the resin. It’s a different lot of Longbeard ammo. Some lots have outperformed other lots. I make sure to resight-in my shotgun when changing lots.
@@juliusjames5577 hard to buy them and hunt with them if you can’t trust them to be consistent
Sometimes the resin becomes loose inside the hull. If it does, the pattern will open up. By shaking them, you will be able to tell if the resin is still in tact or not.
Look at salt creek tss 3.5 one guy had it patten stupid good at 60
I’ve been in contact with them and have several of their pattern tests on the channel! Great stuff!
great video thankyou for your time and effort
Happy to do it! Thanks for watching!
I don't know where u found lbxr #6 at but for 2 yrs there no where to be found in my area winchester don't even have them in stock 12 or 20
Last year I bought a few boxes when I found them at a local gun store!
I haven’t been able to find the 3inch 1 7/8 #6 in over 3yrs now. I contacted Winchester and they said something like “demand is high for all cartridges and they are doing their best”. I call BS. Winchester makes the Browning bxd and tss shells too and I think that is taking away from production of Long Beards. They need to step it up, I used to get them at Walmart for 18 a box
@@-B_G- I just looked again last night and still no #6 shot in 20 or 12 even gunbroker don't have any 20ga lbxr in 6 shot but there is a few in 12 ga #6 hope that will at least help u out
Yes ! What is the deal with the ammo shortage!! (I smell a conspiracy.)
Does it shoot 2 3/4” shells good
It does!
Does it shoot them well without jamming thinking about buying one for turkey and for small game
@Mike_Greenawalt it has been 100% for me
Thanks for taking the abuse and sharing your results.
Anytime! More are on the way!
Just going to give you some flack for not using a bench rest. Flack, flack, - - - flack flack - -flack. Not really, good video. Hope you have great season this year.
Lol thanks a bunch!
Don't waste your time with these. Use tss shot shells. You will be able to shoot 30 yards further. Everyone I know that used these shells got rid of them.
I like tss more, but for the price Longbeards are in a league of their own.
Check out my recent tss tests! That stuff is awesome.
I've been turkey hunting for over 35 years...and have killed the super slam of turkey hunting..ive killed probably..50 turkeys. 10-45 yards....I just don't see the point of trying to shoot a turkey at 60-70 yards..ive hunted with the same 870 the entire time..2 different chokes...when I first started turkey hunting they didn't even have a "turkey " choke...I suggest if you want to shoot turkeys at 60-70 yards...put a modified choke tube in your shotgun and shoot Remington slugger deer slugs...
Its the instant gratification of modern American culture and not being able to always get what you want. You can thank Steven Rinella, Pinhoti, other social media hunters who ruined it. Might as well use a 17hmr to hunt..sorry shoot... turkeys.
I used a bow at first in the late 80's, early 90's, and then switched to 870 Wingmaster, with a mod choke barrel. Took one at 53 yards with 1-1/8 oz 1400 fps reloads with it one time. I later switched to a Browning Citori, Imp-Mod barrels. Shot a bunch of them with that for a few years with 1-1/4 oz game loads. Now I pursue the long shots (60+), makes it a lot more fun and opens the door to a lot more possibilities.
@@whiteyfisk9769sounds like you boomers just hate improvements in technology that allow for a more ethical pattern. Just because you can shoot at 60 doesn’t mean you are going to. Stop whining
Who in the hell wants to shoot a turkey load that cost more than buying a turkey at a store I've been shooting Winchester shells turkey loads for 20 years and haven't never had a problem and they patterned better than all of them
I totally agree. I use Federal Grandslam 3inch number 5s. 25 bucks for a box of 10, and have never let down. After patterning, i only shoot 1 to 3 shells a year. I use the breasts for nuggets, and the wings and drum sticks snd thighs for slow cooked bbq.
That 25 bucks has paid for many many meals.
The Long Beard hasn't been out that long. But, up until then, I just used 1-1/4 oz number 4's. Shot a lot of turkeys with them. Now I'm into long distance shooting and love it. Taken 3 over 60 (62, 63 , & 64 yards) with the Long Beards. Using Vortex Reflex sights now. Very good combination.
@@bgdesignandsolutionsthat's not hunting bub just sniping. Learn some woodsmansship
@@R.S.G879 I've hunted turkeys since the 80's. Taken with Bow and Shotgun alike at close ranges. What do you call that, Un-sportsman like conduct?
I could do like the old days and just shoot them out of the trees like our forefathers did. What would you call that? Cheating, or grabbing dinner for the night?
If I chose to seek a new adventure in long distance, that's my prerogative.
