I can’t get over the fact this thing had a Gatling cannon made up of 5 galling guns. A mad man designed this thing. I’ve noticed that the Gatling cannon would never be aimed at you while confronting it, but instead swung around violently. I’m guessing the recoil must’ve been so bad that the pilot had no choice but to spray and pray. It definitely worked. Especially if you just dashed several times in a straight line.
It is very much a case of how much fire power can i stick on this frame. Of course the mental strain on the pilot must have been terrible too, the first prototype next, no wonder Joshua sounded like death when piloting it and Hari could not even speak.
Not lore related but gameplay related. In AC4 I actually tested the amount of damage the 002-Bs Kojima laser blade vs Anjou’s Moonlight. I did 3 separate tests with both with the same AC, tuning, and even AP. While I don’t remember the exact numbers, even the highest amount of recorded damage from the Moonlight did less damage then a slash from the Kojima blade. The Moonlight is likely still better due to this test not factoring the Tellus arms, but still…. WHY was NOTHING from these NEXTs playable? Even if they’re outdated due to being the first of their kind, they still have at least a couple abilities that should have been available, Kojima laser blade sounds sweet as hell.
Interesting. I admit if we had been able to pilot the 002-b i would of had a lot more to work with. Also yes a kojima blade does sound sweet, if i can slice an arms fort of next in half with it.

In some ways i think 002B is the missing link between 03-Aaliyah and Lahire. Look at its Head And Weapon, the head looks like the lahire minus the "Crown" on top back of the head, while the energy gun looks like the one used by Otsdarva/Stasis, Also the leg design is definitely getting sharper as if its midway between the Aaliyah and Lahire Transformation, and lastly the body is definitely starting to have the "Stealth Leading Edge" Look unlike Aaliyah rounded chest cone. Now heres where i'm a bit confused. Is the body of Lahire is an Omer by design or a literral copy of Rayleonard design, as Where Rayleonard Focused on Raw Ground speed, Omer Prefer Flight ability followed by Speed. Design of the lahire with its wide swept V shape with lot of flat area indicates it being a lifting body with aerodynamics in mind which is not something Rayleonard Design Priority. Unless the Alicia Leg development is an indication of Rayleonard Adopting Flight in their design doctrine i don't have anything else.
I would like to add some information about the 002b the giant extensions are actually shoulder shield kojima refractor/generators when the shoulder Shields close it regenerates the prototype next primal armor when it's open it acts as a PA refractor similar parts exist in armored core for answer as two different separate parts but this one combines both of them together as for the two long Spike protrusions on the back of the core part of these 002b they open up to reveal the units over boosters which they are only ever seen doing so when charging you for a blade attack the units are capable of indefinite flight as well and as we can all see the 002b was used directly as the basis for the 03 that became the very first successful mass production next something else that is worth taking a close look at would be the overall shape of the core part as it is very similar to that of a pulverizer from armored core last Raven the pulverizers share lots of similarities with armored core nexts in appearance and technology
Looking at the model, can't help but notice that while it's a rayleonard biped mutation of the AALIYAH, Donning an akvavit Cannon on its Left arm. It oddly uses a gatling Gun Similar to GA's GAN01-SS-WG which is something both companies never use , that includes their pilots. pretty sure this confirms the weapon as evidence that GA had a helping hand in Anatolia's destruction, followed by Celos appearance which confirms as Omers direct involvement with the attack. I also wished that they Kept Hari's voice in For Answer when he was piloting the 00-Arethra in For Answer. Its really a shame that pilots like him that are only fought in arenas don't make spot lights like that.
There’s a theory I had that some of the abilities the Aretha had in 4 and FA weren’t completely from Rayleonard, and that some of the things it had were modifications from other companies. I’d like to think that’s how it got the Gatling Gun and possibly the side boosters. GA did have a hand in the attack on Anatolia according to the wiki.
@@andrewrogers3067 Theoretically speaking, the only modifications it adopted from other companies, is the Assault armor (which was an investment idea from Omer and GAE (now torus) based on their Generator manufacturer in FA. The gatling gun from GA, and Omer may have modified the Boosters, taking into consideration that they later manufacture the ACB-O710 Enhanced Main booster Shinkai uses. and the ASB-O710 Side Booster that Risaia uses.
@@andrewrogers3067 logically speaking that would go for the boosters as well, thus all companies really did is just simply tampered with the modifications of the model. the only originality that they seem to have added is just the gatling gun. perhaps Assault armor was a formula that was thought of by independent researchers and shared these details to big corporations, and the only huge investors were Omer, Akvavit and GAE ( Torus during the LYNX wars). but ultimately it was completed By Omer (and maybe GAE, since they have more modifications of Kojima Weaponry such as the assault armor amplifier shoulders, and the assault armor Cannon) now that their rival company was wiped out. Akvavit seemed to have mainly focused on direct and pinpoint energy of Kojima warfare, turning them into Cannons or huge Energy blades, demonstrated by the 002-b models. the Plasma Kojima rifle: AXIS was an example of their focus. Though not these Schemetics were now passed on to Torus, and they later enhanced them into ARSENIC. But all in all, I think though Akvavit was huge investor to Kojima Technology, and noted to be ahead of the competition, they were unable to successfully produce a component or weapon that utilizes assault armor and no such credit or evidence was supported that they made it. Therefore Either Omer or GAE were the first (or both) to successfully create and utilize assault armor on armored cores.
@@HeyPachuco This is a bit of a necropost, but I actually played through FA against and found out the KRB Judith Booster was Omer's first Assault Armor design, so maybe they made it after acquiring the Aretha and studying it?

I can see why joshua says he's going to die anyway, with how huge that NEXT is and how stupidly fast it boosts around, Joshua's body is probably turning to jelly.
The Aretha is an interesting design in the sense you see it's a clear prototype to nexts in AC4, a prototype for the assault armour in ACFA but the weapons and they way they are attached remind me of the OWs in armored core 5 and VD which we know is a direct sequel, some nice subtle foreshadowing. It also would of been nice to have the parts for the 002 prototypes (I mean yeah the lore is they kill who pilots it but they look cool and the laser blade would of been an interesting weapon to try out, reminds me of a smaller giga blade from AC5/VD)

Overall this is a very very good comprehensive video going into the lore and history of these machines and technology I have been trying to find someone I can pay to make a new mod for armor core 4 answer to make the prototype next parts available for use in the garage on different ACS or just be able to play as one of them but I have yet to find anybody who's willing to make mods for Xbox 360 video games I'm going to be looking into it again today today is my birthday I am now 24 this was a very very good birthday present love your videos and can't wait to see more I hope that you will cover the older series in due time! I have an Hipotesis: what if the main villain from AC verdict Day, is the Father of Fiona, because if im not wrong Fiona was missing in the mission where you defeat/help White Glint.
I like it, sadly fiona's father is the man who died at the start of ac4. Which is what put anatoila into its finical crisis as he was keeping them afloat.
Sounds like the 002-B had a bad AMS system, if not a lack of Kojima-radiation shielding for the pilot. I really wish we could've played with both mechs in AC4/4A
It's been a long time but I could have sworn there was a detail about how the ARETHA was actually too big and heavy to function, that unsupported it would crush itself under it's own weight and that it only works by having it's Primal Armor help hold it up.

I know I loved that boss back then and I swear I remember considering that to be a really neat detail about it. But it's entirely possible what I'm remembering doesn't exist or was some other similar mecha.

A good question and after a quick look through some of the book we have one scrapped plan for some 03 arms and a redesign of the 02b however from a quick google translate of the pages There seems to be no mention of an 01 project.

Well the problem is both times the craft is used its pilot bites the dust due to combat. However since Joshua does say he will join anatolia's mercenary soon if he defeats the lynx, it is very likely he knows either this next will kill him or omer will.
Bit of a mixed camp to be honest. The aretha would have been around when fiona father was, it was the first next to be pumping out kojima particles and if it was using a proto-type ams system then that would explain how pilots died. Perhaps this is what Joshua meant if you lose to him when he says he'll join you on the other side soon. But I have my daunts as well seeing as both of these machine are proto-types next, the mutant core is pilot again in acfa which is either points to the lynx piloting it having a death wish or that the core is not the one killing it pilots. Then again maybe this is me looking too deep into the rabbit hole when the answer is right in front of my nose.

To be fair, it would be a VERY weak NEXT, you wouldn’t even be able to float on water.

I have been meaning to ask, is there any reference to a 01 from Rayleonard? We have the 00 prototype and the 02 and the 03 Aaliyah but no 01 at all
