Fun watching this 4 years later, especially with Rain playing so well in ASL13. Wow that micro and control on both sides was unreal. Id like to think players get better over time but this was just insane top level skill
So sad they fucked the map pool so bad. I'm not saying these protoss are bad player but they were spoon-fed victories over the best terran and zergs. Doesn't feel right at all.
Surprise surprise sparkle favours Protoss again but rain was really better overall in this set of games. He always had the initiative and a clear plan and was very measured and patient with his play. Impressive! And btw, pvp is much better than tvt or zvz so don’t be too upset about the final!
Watching the scorge chase down the sairs knowing they are individually targeted and seeing the sairs juke and micro was crazy, then the throwing muta in to soak up cannon damage was mind-blowing micro
ZvP really seems to be determined by how well or badly Zerg is able control corsair #s. If Protoss can make enough to hunt/kill overlords zerg has almost no chance (at Pro level anyways). Between the being repeatedly supply capped and limiting detection Protoss can just destroy zerg.

Im a big fan of protoss rain bisu and mini but during this match I was rooting for hero. I think that he could have made some Devourer and mutalisk to counter corsairs
SPOILER . . . . That island map is pathetically Imbal against Zerg and I say this as a Protoss player. It was sad to watch and incomprehensible that they actually chose it as an official ASL map.
SPOILER Even if I do not like mirror match ups for finals I'm glad that rain got to the finals, I remeber watching him in the first or second season of ASL vs soulkey it was a awesome ZvP I loved his style since then Now I hope he can win the finals #TeamRain

Watching a top pro know that he has to throw away 2 bases and 50 hydras to kill a couple of reavers is sad.
Or you could just rush Devourers instead of building Hydras like an idiot
