So good seeing Dark very clearly improve a lot lately. Not just mechanical skill, but the showing of different ideas and thinking novel on the spot. Very interesting and strong player.
No spoilers but, its weird how casters always talk about Dark like hes not the #1 zerg in Korea and second really only to Serral. They always talk like its ragnarok or some shit.
Yeah, hes very clearly the #2 zerg and top 5 in the world. To be fair though he is probably the underdog against Cure and definitely the underdog against Maru. I would rank my top 5 as Serral, Maru, Cure, Dark, Hero although the bottom 3 are all arguable

I agree. Creator really played well. He really delivered in his matches against Maru! Don't forget, when Maru is losing, he's just on par with you! To see that Creator was fighting him head-to-head like that in both early game and late game is really impressive.
Thanks to all the crew and those donating for keeping GSL alive! Hats off to the translator, I don't know how accurate they are as I don't speak Korean, but the speed and flow is top notch, even if they are just rounding out the translation with their own words. I remember a few years back it was a lot clunkier. Great job.
I like how Dark said he disliked darkness, that it was his biggest fear. He also said that his gamer tag is the best. Dark is doing a Batman: take the name of something you fear and make your opponents fear it too. Also interesting that most players agreed that the best gamer tag of the GSL players is Dark.
Dark is doing Darker things. I was sad about Cure losing to Dark, but then when same happened to Maru, I'm just glad for Dark. Awesome and very smart moves.
It's not about being less or more emotional. It's about accepting all of your emotions. Without them people become too limited in terms of ideas and creativity. So it's always about balance and control of your feelings, not about blocking all of them and becoming a robot.
Spoiler --- Wow, Dark is nuts. I knew he was gonna win because this tournament he has been on a tear. I didn't think he was gonna body Maru like that. Holy cow!!
Dark did play amazingly. He read the games incredibly well. The Cure greed being shut down completely was just some foreplay. Dark continued with adapting to the game state and just made attacks work, made impossible defenses work, and just played well in general.
Dark is the only zerg player who'd stay at the top if they ever balanced the race. All the other top zergs crutch so hard on the unbalanced things while dark will just do amazing plays that would work regardless.
Great finals! Although this is not a first win for Dark I think it means a lot for him. Thanks to the entire GSL crew for such a show. Long live SC2 and GSL!
Finals Game 2: I'm just sitting here with both hands on my face with goosebumps. Like the casters were saying, it looks like a textbook loss but then you look and he's literally attacking at every single point on the map.
So happy for Dark ! When Creator got eliminated I started rooting for Dark ! He is a legend and if I were to learn Zerg I would try to learn Dark's style. It's so representative of what the race can do in a smart and scary way.
I'm missing the old days player presentations at the begining of the match with the camera plays and stuff :_ also... SPOILER ALERT: . . . . After all these years I see that nothing changed in the SC2 elite scene... always (mostly) dominated by ZERG and TERRAN. GSL Protoss champions are the true heroes IMO.

I am kind of surprised Tasteless didn't recognize the 1-1-1 Terran push from Wings of Liberty. Oh, he is a Protoss player. Still, that build was heavily used against Protoss, so he should definitely be able to recognize it. But thankfully we have an analytical caster with him (to replace Artosis). Guys, you're making a good pair, keep it up. 😉
At this point, Clem is the best Terran player in the world. Compared to Maru, Clem’s play style is just way too aggressive. But W for Dark though, that was mad!
These were really nice matches.I think all 4 semi-finalist did really well here, especially Creator, who's the underdog! EDIT: Perhaps I should stop considering him the underdog...
