Can you do a video on how you study with quizlets? Great job!
Girl, I'm dying to know how your process of care is in the chair. In our first clinic it takes a average of 6 sessions to complete a patient. I'm listening so jealous! lol We have to check in with instructors and have things double checked in between several steps before we even get to start treatment planning. I just signed up for my Board exam! Keep up the great work!!!!
I am in my second year and it takes us about 1 or 2 sessions to complete patients. Everything has to be double checked but it usually goes pretty quick unless the pt has lots of perio involvement. I just took my board yesterday, good luck!!!
@@gymnastizzy35305 Our last semester, now, it takes me 2 sessions for brand new patients, and we have to take 1 sessions tests... But all of adult patients still take 2 sessions! It's a lot quicker than clinic 1, but we had to take SEVEN sessions on our student partner! It's a nightmare when we have to bring the same person over and over. Congrats on your board! Assuming you passed! Which Board did you take? I'm taking crdts in Texas.
@@gymnastizzy35305 And if you'd take the time to reply to this, because I'm so curious to know if you guys have it similar...

Our clinic sessions this semester is 3 and a half hours. It takes 2-4 appts to complete a class 1 or 2 patient. I honestly do things quickly, that's just how I'm wired. I take my tests in like 10 minutes lol.
But we definitely have a lot of steps to go through and it takes forever to wait on faculty. Also, add in doing skill evaluations and it takes a lot longer. But maybe one day I'll do a video on the steps I have to go through, I'm sure programs differ on this!
KaitlinDropsIt yesss. I’d love to know! A nearby program has a totally different process of care due to it being a dental school so most of their patients have little to no assessment to do prior to treatment planning. It blows my mind! I had a mock board pt who had to come in for NINE appointments in my freshman year lol. Though, I did take 3 1.5 hour competencies on her.... I love hearing the differences in the programs :)
You’re absolutely awesome. Do you ever coupon for your groceries? What stores do you usually shop at? Hopefully you can do some in store grocery videos showing how you shop
I actually don't. I wish I could but there's not usually coupons on what I eat.
Do you ever stock up on anything like soda or water when there’s a huge sale? If you do maybe you could possibly do an in store video about that. Just another fun idea for a video
Thanks!!
You are so inspirational and really look up to you!!! Wow a year really went by fast, remember when I discovered you at the very beginning of you dental hygiene Journey!! ❤️
did you do Pre-Reqs? If so how long did that take you? hope you don’t mind me asking
Hey girl!! I found you through your spray tan video!! I’ve been a hygienist for 9yrs!! I love my job!! Good luck in school!!
Wow that's awesome!! Thanks so much for watching!
It’s been so long ! Keep going strong
Thank you for keep on doing these videos. Really informative and very helpful. Please continue to do this video more
YES!!! I've been waiting for this video!
HIIii I just discovered your channel and watched your dental interview video and found it so helpful!! I have my interview in two weeks and im super nervous, but wathcing your video made me feel so much better! I was just wondering if you have encountered mini interviews before and any advice ??
I haven't heard of that actually!
Is it inconvenient to wear glasses while being a dental hygienist? Are contacts allowed?
p.s. thank you for making these videos! It really gave me a better understanding of how hygiene school looked like. I'm looking foward to being in hygiene school :)
Contacts are allowed!
I love these videos. I am still doing Pre Req Requirements at my university. Because my school offers a Bachelors in Science w my Minor in Dental Hygiene. I havent started my dental hygiene program but hopefully will next July! Its a year and half long program because its fast paced. Kinda worried 😭
Don't be worried, many before you have done it and you can do it too! Good luck!
Love your videos so much!!
I’m curious what are your patient requirements? I’m in the same semester as you and we have to have 5 adults, 1 child, 1 adolescent, and 2 geriatric patients. Finding geri patients that are easy enough to work on is HARD!!
We don't get down to specific ages of patients until next semester. This semester the only requirement is that they're calculus class 1 or 2
How long is your program? Mine will be 4 regular semesters plus one summer semester but that’s NC.
Mine is 5 semesters total!
What school do you go to? I’m also from Georgia. I start my program next month!
Congrats! I can't share what school I go to. But good luck on starting!!
