Organic fine grain corn starch for a natural dry shampoo alternative! I go outside (it's a bit messy), rub it around in my hands and in my hair with my head flipped upside down before bed and my hair has crazy volume in the morning and extends my washes.

That's hilarious that you had that experience with the observation. Yeah you are right, its hard to get locations to observe at. I am a clinical manager and I am funny about student observations because of past experiences. I have had several dental assistants come and observe and literally they just get in the way! It should be obvious when you need to move out of the doctor or assistants way because they need to treat patients and you are just observing, but you would be surprised at how people act when they come as guests to your office... like totally freaking clueless. Now the exception is my hygienist friend. She stayed on point and out of the way of workers. The best advice I would give to students who want to observe would be to indicate that you are nimble and aware of your surroundings and will not impede the work flow of the office!!
That makes sense! It just seems people forget they were students once too
@@NaturallyKait That's exactly why I want to support students, because observation is a great learning experience... and if someone observes and exhibits exceptional attitude and helpfulness, I will not hesitate to call them when positions become available. Actually, it puts them first in line before I will even post a position.

I think your routine is really admirable. Study, bath, gratitude journal, bible study and all by 9 pm!!! I really want to be like that. Can you break down semester 1 for me. How did you juggle so many classes with this routine!?!
Yeah that's the highest class.
I still have the same amount of classes this semester as I did the first semester, and actually I'm at school a lot more than I was the first semester. I just had to be diligent because if I slacked on my self care and sleep, I wouldn't feel well throughout the week and I would regret it. It's all about time management!

I am also seeking to go for dentistry field as my future career. But Um I wanted to ask you, do you know any good toothpaste that are really good for teeth & gums? I use Colgate toothpaste but am not sure if that’s the best toothpaste to use. I want to use more natural & healthy toothpastes. If you know of any?
If you want to go the more natural way, Tom's is a good option :)

I just completed my dental Assisting course and have been talking with a bunch of hygienist I met and they say that you get used to it pretty quickly, you find the way that’s comfortable for you; it was also a concern of mine because I’m plus size.
Some of them where back support bands, almost like girdles under their scrubs just to be on the safe side. Can’t even tell that they are wearing anything!
And from my time in sitting in the assistants chair it’s really not that bad, as well as the doctors chair (usually the same kind)

How do you pay bills while you’re in school? Did you work up until the program started?
Yep! Worked, saved money, took out loans, and tried to make my bills as minimal as possible while I'm in the program.

Do you think you could do a video on where you got your dental instruments, scrubs, and all the things dental hygiene students will have to buy that isn't usually included in the program? Your videos are so helpful, thank you so much for making such detailed videos, it's so cool to see someone's progress from their first day and on! There's no other channel like this keep doing what you do
I talk about this periodically throughout my videos- especially my instrument and orientation video. But maybe I can do something more in depth in the future
