PI NETWORK SUMMARY
Pi Network is an experiment to create the first digital cryptocurrency that can be mined on a mobile phone.
It is an attempt to create a decentralized open-source blockchain that is eco-friendly. It was created by three Stanford University graduates Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis, Dr. Chengdiao Fan, and Vincent McPhillip.
Dr. Nicolas Kokkalis, the head of technology, had previously co-founded Gameyola, a monetization and distribution platform for casual Flash games on social networks, and is the instructor of Stanford University’s first decentralized applications class; combining distributed systems and human-computer interaction to bring cryptocurrency to everyday people.
Vincent McPhillip, the head of the community, had also previously co-founded The Stanford Blockchain Collective, a cross-disciplinary student club across the engineering, business, and law schools.
Unlike bitcoin with its proof-of-work consensus protocol, Pi, the cryptocurrency generated by Pi Network miners as a reward for mobile activities performed to secure the blockchain, is built on the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP).
The Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP) requires several nodes to cast ballots on transaction validity, an activity that requires less computing power compared to bitcoin's proof-of-work consensus protocol that depends on nodes that require lots of electricity which, consequently, has negative effects on the environment because of the carbon emissions that results from bitcoin mining.
In October 2019, just 7 months after launch, Pi Network recorded over 500,000 installs, with active users spread across 180 countries.
Pi Network is marketed as the first and only platform where you can earn a digital asset called Pi
Pi aims to allow everyday people from all walks of life to contribute to the security of the cryptocurrency and the success of its community. The team believes this meritocratic principle, as well as Pi’s inclusivity, is positioning it to become the world’s most widely used cryptocurrency.

This all being said, there's a lot of subjectivity from whale, fomo, and noobs cashing out that will add a lot of volatility of course.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but you've got to spread your money among different asset categories like bitcoin and stock, then further allocate those funds within each category.

The problem isnt the starting price, but the starting behaviour of the holders. If its going to start with 1.7$ it will drop fast if most users start selling, no matter the demand

@@kehindeayodele1087 many months ago they had a notification pop up about kyc and I think we had to download yoti and submit our documents there
On my network only about 110~ of 380~ are mining at a given time, been like that for a long period so more than half is inactive, also uncertain how many would even pass kyc so I expect to loose quite a lot of coins once it goes live, not that it matters, same for everyone with a big group

You think you overestimate supply while you underestimate it, because it looks like you 1) assume linear growth and 2) it looks like you assume continuing daily mining on the linear mid day rate which vastly underestimated more likely exponential growth

It doesn't cost you anything now, but imagine when they do decide to make it an asset you can buy/sell they can put it behind a paywall and/or lock it before you provide additional KYC data. "You can access your PI tokens to trade once you provide us with this info". After spending years accumulating PI tokens, you are more inclined to provide this information up to access your coins. This is simple psychology, you don't want all that effort to be a waste in the end. Like bruh, just learn how to stake crypto like ADA and Polygon and retire early.
the demand is theoretical and is based on the services provided in testnet. there are two main areas, the business and ecosystem. both are important to justify or to prove the testnet theory. we need to contribute to the economy of pi. think of it as a city that needs a businesses to satisfy its population. we need to brainstorm.
