    My bro, apologies for interrupting that day. No lie, what an honor to spend some time holding a conversation.

      Jay! That kinda stuff makes my day! And it was actually really good timing since I was kinda wrapping up. I like being able to have a conversation with those that watch my videos and support the channel, especially if what I do inspires others, such as yourself. That means a lot to me. I have your number, you got mine, let’s go fishing sometime 🎣

    Nick, that was so cool at the end of the video when that dude told said he got into fishing because of you! I don't know if you realize how many of us you have inspired to get into, or back into ocean fishing. And we got a beauty hear in the PNW! Thanks!

    I watch all these channels. Yours is the best at providing information, and also plenty of actual fishing action on each video. I hope you keep at it, because you deserve to have the biggest market share of this audience.
    FIY I finally caught a lingcod off the rocks after learning from you. -last week. 20 inches so let it go and then another 18 inches. Using your snagless tech. Hope to get a keeper next time.

    Excellent Nick. Here in New Jersey, we've made it mandatory to use circle hooks for bait. Those rigs are great. Simple IS best.

    Nick, Honest Tips, One thing I noticed on Fish Finder Rig
    The Egg Sinkers are are Very Rough on Braided Line
    I put my eggs on a Heavier Mono using a PR Knot to 10’ Mono Shock Line
    Then swivel to my fluorocarbon leader !
    High Low, Dropper, or Chicken Rigs
    I make my Drop Loops about 4”-5” long
    I built a Drop Loop Knot Board to make my leaders
    (Found the video on UA-cam)

    Hello, Thank you for these two good montages for the sea.
    for the carolina rig why put two lead eggs. Does this have an advantage?
    And I wanted to know being a beginner for sea fishing if I could use the knocker rig assembly?

    • @AnglingAddictsPNW
      @AnglingAddictsPNW  Рік тому

      The Okuma Rockaway series are pretty nice for the price. My favorite has been the Cedros rod and reel by Okuma. It's a bit more speedy but I find myself using that over my Rockaway... the size difference is probably why though. The Rockaway comes in different sizes but I have the 12' and at times it seems to be too much. My Cedros is 10'6" and is, in my opinion, perfect for surf fishing, jetty fishing, whatever.

    I learnt a lot from your videos where do you fish mostly above lincoln city or bellow down south more? were in salem but visit from florence on up to garabaldi just driving around sight seeing and having fun. I would love to learn to fish when we go out there again of the jetty and also surf fishing...not sure what rod is good for both types of fishing but will keep watching your videos and
    learn more :)

    • @AnglingAddictsPNW
      @AnglingAddictsPNW  Рік тому +1

      Hey Dan, most of my surf fishing is on the north coast from Rockaway up to Seaside/Astoria, but I do fish down to Newport for rockfish. A good rod for both is the Okuma Rockaway HD. 10-12’ and Medium power. They make a reel to match it (Rockaway) I think I have the 6000 on mine. The rod has a long rod butt (like most surf rods) but works great for surf and rock fishing. Check those out and let me know what you think. I actually think there may be a link in the video description for the rod and reel. It’s an Amazon link. Let me know if you have more questions.
