My bro, apologies for interrupting that day. No lie, what an honor to spend some time holding a conversation. Im Inspired and action is taking fishing an adventure.
Jay! That kinda stuff makes my day! And it was actually really good timing since I was kinda wrapping up. I like being able to have a conversation with those that watch my videos and support the channel, especially if what I do inspires others, such as yourself. That means a lot to me. I have your number, you got mine, let’s go fishing sometime 🎣
Nick, that was so cool at the end of the video when that dude told said he got into fishing because of you! I don't know if you realize how many of us you have inspired to get into, or back into ocean fishing. And we got a beauty hear in the PNW! Thanks!
I watch all these channels. Yours is the best at providing information, and also plenty of actual fishing action on each video. I hope you keep at it, because you deserve to have the biggest market share of this audience. FIY I finally caught a lingcod off the rocks after learning from you. -last week. 20 inches so let it go and then another 18 inches. Using your snagless tech. Hope to get a keeper next time.
Nick, Honest Tips, One thing I noticed on Fish Finder Rig The Egg Sinkers are are Very Rough on Braided Line I put my eggs on a Heavier Mono using a PR Knot to 10’ Mono Shock Line Then swivel to my fluorocarbon leader ! High Low, Dropper, or Chicken Rigs I make my Drop Loops about 4”-5” long I built a Drop Loop Knot Board to make my leaders (Found the video on UA-cam) Fishing in Florida
Awesome information on the high low and different connecting knot's it's always a pleasure to watch your videos, I love that you're actually out in public areas fishing!
Hey there Nick,… was really hoping to be up towards your way last year but ran into health issues…and now I’m getting back on my feet again so I can going fishing … did a little surf fishing for Stripers but not with bait… strictly lures for me… not much has been happening as far as Stripers go but I learned that Stripers go as far as Washington… didn’t know this for so long … still watching your videos…. when they come out..🤙😎👍
Great video! When we retire next year and tour the west coast next year I was hoping to surf fish for salmon and steelhead but I don’t see videos or info on where this is possible. Any suggestions on where to try?
Should announce at the beginning where you're fishing at or leave it in the description. Or better yet do a video on some of the productive beaches and jettys. Thanks for sharing.
Hello, Thank you for these two good montages for the sea. for the carolina rig why put two lead eggs. Does this have an advantage? And I wanted to know being a beginner for sea fishing if I could use the knocker rig assembly? 🙋♂️👍🙏
The Okuma Rockaway series are pretty nice for the price. My favorite has been the Cedros rod and reel by Okuma. It's a bit more speedy but I find myself using that over my Rockaway... the size difference is probably why though. The Rockaway comes in different sizes but I have the 12' and at times it seems to be too much. My Cedros is 10'6" and is, in my opinion, perfect for surf fishing, jetty fishing, whatever.
Nice video! However, 20# mono or fluoro is going to snap like a hair follicle here in Florida with all the sharks, bull reds, jacks etc. we have here in Florida.
I learnt a lot from your videos where do you fish mostly above lincoln city or bellow down south more? were in salem but visit from florence on up to garabaldi just driving around sight seeing and having fun. I would love to learn to fish when we go out there again of the jetty and also surf fishing...not sure what rod is good for both types of fishing but will keep watching your videos and learn more :)
Hey Dan, most of my surf fishing is on the north coast from Rockaway up to Seaside/Astoria, but I do fish down to Newport for rockfish. A good rod for both is the Okuma Rockaway HD. 10-12’ and Medium power. They make a reel to match it (Rockaway) I think I have the 6000 on mine. The rod has a long rod butt (like most surf rods) but works great for surf and rock fishing. Check those out and let me know what you think. I actually think there may be a link in the video description for the rod and reel. It’s an Amazon link. Let me know if you have more questions.
thanks your videos are good and informative for a noob like me...I wonder what surf perch taste like and also which rock fish is more desirable for eating? I do hear lincod is good though thanks again and best wishes
lol I wonder how many people heard me say it that way. I noticed it when I was editing the video and had to go back and see if actually said what I thought I just head lol... it's definitely the Pal-O-Mar knot... thanks

Been a commercial fisherman for 5 years and only just now getting into the rod n reel side. Crazy learning the different rig setups for this!
Just a little over a month until my first fishing trip to the Oregon coast. Your videos and tips have me hooked and I can’t wait to test it all out.
How did you fare?
We had pretty good success and caught a decent amount of surf perch.
Nick this is literally one of the best fishing videos on UA-cam. Love you channel bro.
That moment at the end of the video was awesome. Nice vid man! I'm gonna get out for razor clams and surf perch soon!

Excellent Nick. Here in New Jersey, we've made it mandatory to use circle hooks for bait. Those rigs are great. Simple IS best.
Thanks bro. I’m trying to learn and this helped a lot! Shout out from South Carolina!

Great Video bro!
Great tips. Thanks
Thank you for sharing!Greatly appreciate it
I was wondering what is a good all around surf fishing combo. I’m looking for a new rod and reel.

That fish finder rig looks like it would become a tangle with a distance cast
