When Kevin looks at Michael and asks, "Where do you sleep?", the way Michael looks up, it looks like he's going to say, "Uh.. with.. Karen." But either way, after Kevin asks that question, you can tell that Karen and Michael suddenly realize that they've said too much.
Imagine Jack's surprise a few episodes later when Michael and Karen broke up (almost) because Michael, unlike Karen DID in fact want to get married! So in that sense at least, he had more in common with Jack than he originally let on!
i only watch first friends because of ross, because i was such a fan from him when he was in wonder years.....friends and wonder years are my 2 favourite series of all time
Although, later on, Kevin spends time with Michael and learns that Michael is actually an okay guy and Jack would think so too, if he'd just give Michael a chance. But Jack is too upset knowing that Karen is living and sleeping with a guy that she's NOT MARRIED TO.
Omg this ultimately leads up to the lawn scene in the rain- When he camps out until she talks to him. As a kid, I thought it was like the most romantic scene when I saw that!
So now they know why Karen moved off of campus. She did it so she could live together with Michael. Only students can live on campus and Michael's not a student at the college. Even if he was a student, the college wouldn't let them share a dorm room together. Colleges do not allow guys and girls to share dorms. Her parents are upset enough when they find out she's sharing a house with Michael but they're really pushed over the edge when they find out she's sharing A BED with Michael! Back in the time where the show takes place, people were often looked down upon for doing such things out of wedlock.
@@AndrewT-hb8we And look how many of them don't stay together. More of them seem to break up than stay together, especially when kids are involved. Look at how many single moms there are these days.

I only saw the pilot for the Wonder Years when it was first released. I really liked it, but never had time to watch the show. So I’m only just learning that David Schwimmer had a brief role. Too funny.

I was going to mention it, but it felt like I was the only one in the room here on youtube, that knew it was Ross. In fact, I remember when “Friends” first aired, and I said “Hey...that’s Michael from the Wonder Years!”
It’s not exactly a double standard when you compare it to what happens today. As you acknowledged, people got married back then if a girl became pregnant. They were EXPECTED to. There are way fewer expectations today. In the poorer urban communities, absent dads are the norm. But even in more affluent neighborhoods, people have fewer moral standards anymore. You can knock someone up and, sadly, people are willing to celebrate with a baby shower for a single mom. And then just let the father or the government send a check to her. Which is why millennials have more mental health issues than previous generations. Sadly, it’s not even their fault. It’s the older generations (like Baby Boomers and GenXers) who were not willing to continue standing up for the right thing anymore.
Boy times have changed. Living together before marriage is seen as completely normal. The idea of being expected to marry before moving in together would never be tolerated by anyone today.
I’m sure there’s still people out there with those types of antiquated beliefs. The internet has taught me lots of stupid people believe lots of stupid things, I just had a conversation with a guy who said dinosaurs were on Noah’s ark.
But suppose a couple met in elementary school and one of them moves out of the state and 20 odd years they look each other up on social media and moves in together. Later gets married?

Glad to see that Ross was always terrible with family situations 🤣
The dad is such a good actor. As a kid when this show was on in the background I'd be scared of him
Me too
Me three
Dan Lauria was awesome. Perfect juxtaposition between the conservative war veteran and baby boomer hippies like Karen.
Same lol
Yes Dan Lauria, I was surprised to see him on Shameless 😂 he is/was very good, great dramatic acting.
I remember Karen's boyfriend was such a doofus. And then I was surprised he became Ross!
And Ross was a geek lol
Ross the doofus 😂😂😂😂
based on the hair, I think you meant Russ

Jack never liked Karen's boyfriend Michael. He was twice as angry than Norma was.

David Schwimmer is a very talented actor. I'd love to see him in more dramatic roles. He's really something.
He was good in the OJ miniseries as Robert kardashian
He was great in "Band of Brothers" on HBO, playing a very unsympathetic, but key, character.
he's an ok actor
It's a shame Dan Lauria didn't get more roles. I remember him as a military General in Independence Day.
He played a Detective in the ESPN mini. Series The Bronx is Burning
