      @@Room1sixtyfive gear drive from drive shafts to the chains inside the square wheels somehow then a brake on the driveshaft similar to how they do it on gocarts (and monster trucks). You'd obviously need the wheel hub mounted to spin free from the driveshaft powering the gears so it stays bottom side down.

    Nice job! Doing this on snow or sand would have been a lot better. Definitely do all four, but make the next version triangle for better clearance, leave more room between the treads for self cleaning, make higher sides on the boogie wheels to prevent throwing a track. Also, you're going to need to add a hydraulic cylinder to the steering.

      How do you put drive to a square wheel though?

    • @tifreak8x
      @tifreak8x 11 місяців тому +1

      @@timjohnun4297 Would require some modifications to the driveline. The wheels would need to be mounted in an independent suspension style setup, and the driveline would need to be connected to the chains that actually spin the treads, like you see in the first part of the video with the bicycle.

    Needs shorter rubber strips in the middle to make turning easier. Like others already said, adding more clearance between the strips makes it more resilient to pebbles and other hard material getting stuck between the strips.

    The strips need lap joints, like dozer tracks! The rear should be fairly easy with a link connecting to the trailing arms, or leaf spring mount and a link to the diff, possibly the shock mount, and 'mabe with the backing plate for the brakes, then a couple pair of spur gears to spin the track, possibly bolt another axel to the hub, with the spur gears gear between, use the beaton the axel to mount the square frame! Allowing proper weight transfer, cutting off the excess axel of course!

    With care of small radius, non geared wheels, no tensioner, it's a success!!!
    Now you need to add a tensioner and change the radius. It might be turn by a ¼ at each bump if too small, and tensioner is needed for higher speed to avoid chain jumping out the small bearing side, and finally the hardest job: made 2 for ear that included a geared hub to drive them all,
    Made it other way than triangular design will be hard, but doable !
    Why not add a flat band of tires over the small rubber band for better looking and a bit of confort from ground to metal parts...
    I love this creation !
    One of the 10th best from Garage54

    If you attach rubber strips every 3 or 4 metal strips, you will solve the problem of the pebbles and the dust kicking up.
    The dust is being "pinched" between the rubber pieces (the same as the pebble that stopped the car) and is being thrown, pinch-by-pinch, into the air which is why there's so much dust.

    Fun fact, back when i was in public indoctrination camp, (public school) the class was given an assignment to reinvent the wheel and to explain why you designed it the way you did. I did this same comcept but it wasn't square it was triangle, the reason for me not doing it square was less surface area so it wouldn't take as much torque/force to spin the belt on the triangle tires. This reminded me of that lol.
