    I've been looking at some ugly tile edges for years in the main bath. The whole time pondering what to do about it. And I will be using your share to replace that tile very soon with a nice smooth transition and updated tile very inexpensively. I'm feeling unstoppable! Big thanks!!

    Nice. You could probably cut a couple vertical keyhole slots and put t bolts and knobs in the fence so you don’t have to reclamp every time. You could even put a couple peel and stick rulers on the side to help with placement.

      Or make vertical rails that connect in the back so that you can move the hole fence with one hand and tighten with knobs as you said. This could be made commercially, great idea.

    If i had a damn miter saw i wouldnt need a jig for tile.. i actually rented one of those exact same makita 8.5" deals and believe it or not i put a 4" tile cutting blade on it, made a table from old backer, ran an old windshield washer fluid pump to a 10v dc power plug, ran tube up through where the bag goes, set it all inside the lid of a tote and damn thing cut over 200 tile for me perfect,. Cleaning it off sucked cuz i let it dry but hose while wet and good wet miter...

    Is that Ryobi running clockwise or counter clockwise?
    Normal circular saws are sawing upwards, while most tile saws are sawing downwards. But by the look of the Arrow, on the Ryobi it seem to saw upwards?
    Asking because I'm thinking of using a normal circular saw with Diamond blade, but I'm a bit afraid of chipping the edge.
    Any thougts?

    • @FixitAll
      @FixitAll  4 роки тому +1

      It works like regular wood saw. Otherwise saw will be jump up all the time .

      Also if you notice he cuts away from the edge slightly, about a 1mm ish

    So you can't cut in one pass, huh? Safer to do 2-3 passes to get through? Will it crack or chip if you try to do it in one pass?

    • @FixitAll
      @FixitAll  3 роки тому +1

      Depending on tile. Finish surface very different from tile to tile. This one was very easy to chip.

    Nice. I noticed they do miters all the time in Russian videos. They also lay out large format tiles inline versus 1/3 offset. Do they have better tiles or are the more patient because the labor is cheaper?

    • @FixitAll
      @FixitAll  6 років тому

      Of course the labor much cheaper than in US. And all tile came from Europe, most from Italy, there is a high quality.

    • @apex007
      @apex007 6 років тому

      Fix it All so less cupping and straighter tile?

    • @FixitAll
      @FixitAll  6 років тому

      Yes. I work here mostly with Italian tile too.

    • @BlahBlahManYeah
      @BlahBlahManYeah 6 років тому +1

      Walls are extremely plump and square before tiling when they do bathroom remodeling in Russia, as they fix that first with mud work, which complements inline layout. Other than lipage 1/3 also helps to hide non square perimeter or non plump walls in lightweight construction that are the most houses in the US

    • @apex007
      @apex007 6 років тому

      BlahBlahMan Yeah square and plumb walls won't do anything if your tiles are cupped
