I love the 2 x 45degree cuts so you have offset your saw by 45 degrees in order to cut angles such as 65 degrees. That’s a new one for me! Total genius!! Great work as always and great tip Knackers!!!
Brilliant, will add all those tips to my skillset. A chartered Engineer, for 50 years (retired now) always willing to learn, you remind me of my Engineering Apprenticeship Tutors, skills I still retain.
Wow! I am a member of a Wood guild and I have not seen anybody do any of these things! of course we have a number of really great tools, but I don’t have those great tools at my house. However, I do have a miter saw, just like his.
Thanx. I tried a project a couple of years ago that didn't work out on my miter saw. I never thought of a zero-clearance jig. Maybe I'll revive my project.
Thank you so much all the tips are so Useful. I have a small miter saw and occasionally I needed to go to a higher angle and now I know how to do it. That little tip is worth it’s weight in shrimp on the Barbie
I've seen all your Miter Saw videos - I've seen all your videos - but this is the best and most awesome video you've ever done and I've ever seen! You made me wanna run out into the garage and start cutting wood like a maniac! A maniac with knowledge and safety thinking that is😋 Thank you for another awesome video! ❤
Wow! Those were the BEST in the book! Thanks for this share! I LOVE #5, the Zero Clearance Jig! Will come in handy soon enough! All the best from Saskatchewan!
Great tips. Single biggest improvement to my miter saw... a set of FastCap Zero Clearance Tape strips. Easy to put on & change when worn down and cheap... 5 for
Great video. Thanks. Having never owned a Compound Mitre Saw, and after watching one of your videos yesterday, I had go out and buy one. Now hooked on your videos. Love your sense of humour …. zero tolerance … the news. That was good!
Just discovered your channel and it’s paid off already. I built your jig for cutting small pieces except I’m cutting aluminium and well….what a gem of an idea. I’ve cut blocks of aluminium as small as 10mm x 10mm x5mm and I’ve measured the block but they were out of square….by 11 microns!!! Wow, who would have thought that a simple wood jig could provide such accuracy. Love the channel, love the ideas and laugh at the dad jokes. Keep up the wonderful work.
Though I rarely use power tools I still greatly enjoy your channel. Something your followers need to know is the more types of cuts a mitre saw makes the less accurate it's going to be.
Fantastic tips Uncle Knackers, extremely practical and most importantly saves hands and fingers from amputation and severe injury.😱 When you see folk with digits missing and mangled hands stomach turns and you know victim will wake up every day wishing if only he could turn the clock back! Personally use an Evolution chopsaw and bench table saw, for two reasons. 1. Blades can cut mild steel and soft metals too. Blades are excellent because they are slimmer than most with less agressive teeth, therefore result in substantially less kick back. Blades also remain sharp, even when a lot of mild steel box and tube has been cut. If you happen to try and cut welded joints though blade knackers straight away! The only downside is wood with thickness of up to 4 iches or 100mm can be cut. When first purchasing any of these tools, the golden rule is to spend time initially setting up for accuracy. This will save hours of time and frustration in the long run.
Cheers Shane, it's wet cold and miserable here in the UK. Your video has brightened the start of the day up. Could do with 90 degrees in the shade here😂
Whilst watching the sawdust and Wood UA-cam channel, I watched the next video (yours). I am subscribing just from watching this video alone. Some of the coolest tips and ideas I’ve seen yet!! I sent your video to my son who also does his own carpentry.
