When you use the target debit card online you get free shipping on top of the 5% off. PIN protection just like your Debit card and you can get cash back because it is connected to your bank account too.
ALWAYS check the online price before checking out in store as I have found that many items I have purchased have been much more $$ in store then their online price.

I used to work for Target so I sent this video to a friend who still works there. She said 3 months ago they stopped ticketing clearance items. Now they just put tags on the shelves, not on the product themselves. Saving on labor! Target's favorite thing to do!
Mr. Deal Guy forgot one more way to save... And that is with the target app... And with Circle (which used to be cartwheel)... By scanning items with your phone, some items can get a percentage off (selection changes every Sunday). Shopping tip... Scan every item you put in your cart.. one out of 4 may not qualify for a deal ... But if it does it will say you have a circle offer and save it. Then when your done you open the wallet in the app to scan at the register and the savings will appear on some of the items you chose. Not all items are on the list for savings, though... And Signing up to the circle is free. Also.. by being a part of the circle... For every purchase (by scanning the app wallet or putting your phone number in the pinpad) you get 1% back ... It will grow and you have up to the end of the year to use it (remember to show your wallet app or put your phone number in the pinpad).

And with clearance if you use the red card you get an additional 5% for it being clearance :) just some things from a target employee

I have the Target Debit Red Card. totally worth it. It's tied to my bank account and I still get the 5% discount. I also go online and add the deals (like coupons) to my account to save more when I shop w/my Red Card.
I was a Front End Manager for Target and I know thing may vary store by store. But the #7 for coupons, Target does not accept competitors coupons only manufacturers coupons. Only electronic coupons we accept have to be inside the Target app NO Screen shots. This may vary since the target you are close don’t have a lot of people that shop with coupons so they are more trusted. But here in Florida coupon fraud is a big thing. Also #10, Raincheck are given if the product qualifies and it does have an expectation date. You do get a receipt but you will have to have it with you at the time of purchase in order for us to honor the sale price.
I worked at Target about 4 years ago & we repackaged items all the time. I rarely see it anymore, so my guess is that they must discourage employees from repackaging items now.

So Target has two ways to get around “price match” (they HATE doing it!) A) the Red Card. I have one I save 5% AND it’s not *technically* a credit card because they give you a DEBIT card option as well and I strongly recommend doing this. B) Target used to have CARTWHEEL which not ONLY save you an additional 1% on TOP of all this but also gives out discounts/sales to other items. These change weekly/bi-weekly so keep an eye on those. However when I worked there Target was VERY good on honoring pricing mistakes and told us as long as the price was $10 or under the mark to Just adjust it. Just some food for thought.
You can get a redcard debit card linked to your bank account. Still get the 5% off and free shipping. The only downside is it doesn't immediately leave your bank account so you do gotta watch it can take a day or two and sometimes it won't go out at all over the weekend. You can find lots of deals in the target circle app and use it to scan items in store and check prices. Sometimes the online price is cheaper, tell them at the register they can price match. 5% off does work with everything I've bought (even Nintendo switch and games etc) and stacks with sale prices and even clearance prices. It's honestly throwing away money if you shop at Target and don't utilize the target circle app and a redcard. You can easily apply for the debit card online and when I got mine I got a coupon for $40 off $40 purchase. You can add your card to the circle app so you can just scan your wallet barcode at the register to pay. Touchless payment.

Target clearance discount percentages are 15, 30, 50, and 70. You almost never see 90% off unless it's holiday decorations. They donate it for a tax break, since they benefit more from that than selling it for next to nothing. Also, not all stores have the same products, for the same clearance percentages, at the same time (with the exception of holiday decorations). You should also scan the barcodes (or have an employee scan it for you, since price check scanners are shut off due to coronavirus) because the price could actually have gotten lower than what you see on the label. This is because they may have activated the new lower price on the computer, but didn't get around to putting updated clearance labels on the items. They have also just recently started to leave the items where they are normally located in the aisle (as opposed to the normal clearance endcaps) with a small sign that indicates the discount percentage. In this case, they do not label each individual item.
Just additional information upon checking out don't forget to scan your barcode on your app or have the employee scan it so you'll get points/reward called " Target circle earnings " good as cash too that you can use. Thanks! Have a wonderful day
As an employee we do not take screen grabs of coupons or ads our or anyone else’s. The price match is only on live ads or websites. Coupons have to be physical ones.
Re #2 So if they did the math wrong, you can ask the cashier to reduce the price? If something was originally 19.99 and is supposed to be 70% off, but it's more than 5.99, the store will still sell it to you for $5.99?
Repacked items are also for items that have been returned that are only sold online. An in store repacked sticker will allow that item to be sold in store.
Target store will honor online sales. Sometimes its on sale online but not in store. Just show the employee and they'll change it. Also, sometimes its not even on sale but a small difference in price. They'll change it if you show them on your phome!
I love Target but I am disappointed in Target for changing prices based on your exact location. I went to target to buy a calculator for my daughter. Found it on their website for $39.99 for shipping, pickup etc. I decided to get off and get it but when I couldn’t find it I had to pull out my phone to ask a employee and that’s when I noticed the price changed to $59 luckily I had taken a screenshot before I got inside. I also price matched and got it even cheaper then $39. Not cool they track you and raise the price. This isn’t the first time Target did this to me
joanna lopez you can always ask for price that you see at target.com. Target price matched their .com but not from other Tgt locations. What I usually do is order pick up. You get the online price. The only downside is that the “Tgt Circle” deal sometimes doesn’t apply on online and purchases.
Locally to me, there is one Target store that is often priced higher on some items. I've been at home and shopped an item for pickup and the price changed depending on the store I chose.

They will price match on top of the 5% off. Also, make sure you scan your items in your target app and scan the wallet into the end of your transaction. Not only do they have extra discounts in the cartwheel area, but you earn extra savings with each purchase that you can apply at any time to any purchase.

Target got rid of rain checks, they no longer accept them in most, if not every store. Also, Target price matches with most competitors if it's sold and shipped by them. The red card also includes almost every item in the store.
True story, I was living in the north east region when I applied for my Big lots membership to qualify for a 20% off total purchase, and used it when I was in the south east region, while there was a storm up north, the very next week, they gave the folks up north another chance for 20% off the total purchases while the Southeast region didn’t do so because the weather was fine, I got another chance to save 20% off because my membership was registered at my address up north

Target employee here, repackage products can also be any item that has lost the original barcode. I've had to repackage multiple items that were perfect quality, but someone had removed a tag. Also, at least at my target, repackage labels are now completely white stickers. As far as red card goes, while yes we do price match, we also have a red card debit version that has no fees tied to it. It's an easy way to earn 5% for free.
On the Target App you can now earn money back as well. I scan every item I buy through the app while I'm shopping. If there is a coupon it will come up, and you will see the online price and if it is lower ask them at the cash register to adjust the price. Many times items are a lot cheaper online than in store. I recently bought a small home security camera. Online it was $35 but in store it was $50. That's a big difference. In the electronics section you can also check to see if they have any display models on sale. I got a nikon waterproof camera for $30. I don't remember the original price but the kids loved having it in the pool on vacation.

Some one mentioned discounts. Every store can mark down stuff that isn't selling. So you might find an item discounted at one target but not at another.
Target honored an online only sale for me on my fitbit. I saw a price online and it was more expensive on the store than the online cost and they marked it down to that!
Regarding Target don’t accept competitive coupons example Publix they only accept manufacture coupons or from target circle. Target will NEVER give you 5%off because you don’t have the redcard if the product is cheaper in “Walmart” they will price match the product again they will NEVER give you 5%off because of that. You need to go to guest Services and they will give you a reign check but the receipt have a expiration date and not all the promotion are elegibles for reign check. For more deals you can download Target app and start using target circle if you don’t have the redcard target circle will give you 1% for each of your transaction and also something you get exclusive offer. you can save a lot of money with the app if you know how to used it.
The 5% is very much worth it and very few restrictions affect it. Use Cartwheel app for great grocery deals and everyday item deals. Check online versus store prices.
If you going shopping at target, you can try the mobile app PICKL. It pays shoppers $5 to take pictures of products on grocery store shelves, and there are tasks available at target.

In store price is sometimes higher than in store but if you check the price in store on their wifi the website will match the store, how to solve this? Either have a screen shot of the website on your phone before heading to the store or simply turn off your wifi in the store.

The Red Card is not a Credit Card. Although, Target does offer a Credit Card you can get Credit OR Debit. The Debit Card is attached to your checking account. Not only do you get 5% off your bill right away, you also get free shipping online, an extra 30 days for returns and more. Target does price match but if you have a Red Card you will get 5 more percent off. The best way to get the best deal is to get the Target app, you can scan items in the store to find deals and price matches to online prices. Also, if you don't have the Red Card you will earn 1% just for having the app! Very very very few items qualify for a rain check. If you ask for a rain check they will offer to help you purchase the item online and have it shipped to you or to the store. Seasonal price mark downs go from 30 to 50 to 70 to 90 and are not reduced daily. Repackaged items are a really good deal but are completely random therefor hard to find. These could also be returned items but don't worry the return policy is the same for these items as any other item. Target worker will not, or are not supposed to, take a screen shot of any kind. This is why it is good to have the app. All your deals will be there.
I worked at TGT years ago, in pricing, but left bc I didn't agree with the lack of concern about getting items priced timely. Had that not been so, I might still be working there. I don't understand why no one has taken the time to correct such issues seeing as that pricing is one of the most important elements in retail.
Also you don’t need the target credit card to get 5% you can use their target debit card honestly it has saved me over a thousand dollars over all in shipping cost alone because you get free shipping if you have the target debit card and every so often they will give you an extra 10% on one shopping trip every 3 months or so. If you use your regular debit card all the time to shop with target just link your account to a target debit card it is the easiest thing and I love seeing my total always come down.
#6 doesn’t apply to just Christmas either. It’s mostly all seasonal items. New Year’s themed stuff. Summer beach items will follow that same percent price as well.Valentine’s Day. Fourth of July. The like. You’ll know exactly which day of the sale it is if you go to the Bulldog’s Playground section (i.e. the dollar section) and it lists the clearance percentages all over it because BPG is very seasonal with its items. However, this also means that people will assume _all_ items in BPG are on clearance, including the new items. It’s just the last season items that are on clearance.

Target usually donates to Goodwill so you can find great Target items at Goodwill.

Not all stores accept Rain Checks. To avoid confusion, call ahead and ask the store if they accept them.

Target got rid of rain checks, they no longer accept them in most, if not every store. Also, Target price matches with most competitors if it's sold and shipped by them. The red card also includes almost every item in the store.

True story, I was living in the north east region when I applied for my Big lots membership to qualify for a 20% off total purchase, and used it when I was in the south east region, while there was a storm up north, the very next week, they gave the folks up north another chance for 20% off the total purchases while the Southeast region didn’t do so because the weather was fine, I got another chance to save 20% off because my membership was registered at my address up north

Target employee here, repackage products can also be any item that has lost the original barcode. I've had to repackage multiple items that were perfect quality, but someone had removed a tag. Also, at least at my target, repackage labels are now completely white stickers. As far as red card goes, while yes we do price match, we also have a red card debit version that has no fees tied to it. It's an easy way to earn 5% for free.

On the Target App you can now earn money back as well. I scan every item I buy through the app while I'm shopping. If there is a coupon it will come up, and you will see the online price and if it is lower ask them at the cash register to adjust the price. Many times items are a lot cheaper online than in store. I recently bought a small home security camera. Online it was $35 but in store it was $50. That's a big difference. In the electronics section you can also check to see if they have any display models on sale. I got a nikon waterproof camera for $30. I don't remember the original price but the kids loved having it in the pool on vacation.

Some one mentioned discounts. Every store can mark down stuff that isn't selling. So you might find an item discounted at one target but not at another.

Regarding Target don’t accept competitive coupons example Publix they only accept manufacture coupons or from target circle. Target will NEVER give you 5%off because you don’t have the redcard if the product is cheaper in “Walmart” they will price match the product again they will NEVER give you 5%off because of that. You need to go to guest Services and they will give you a reign check but the receipt have a expiration date and not all the promotion are elegibles for reign check.
For more deals you can download Target app and start using target circle if you don’t have the redcard target circle will give you 1% for each of your transaction and also something you get exclusive offer. you can save a lot of money with the app if you know how to used it.
How about doing one on CVS and Walgreens.

In store price is sometimes higher than in store but if you check the price in store on their wifi the website will match the store, how to solve this? Either have a screen shot of the website on your phone before heading to the store or simply turn off your wifi in the store.

I booked a Disney cruise & I paid for it with Disney gift cards from Target since I get 5% off since I use my Target card ;) I also buy Disney gift cards through Target & use them for my onboard credit (put myself on a budget) & I'm still getting that 5% off. I know it's not much, but every little bit helps :)

The Red Card is not a Credit Card. Although, Target does offer a Credit Card you can get Credit OR Debit. The Debit Card is attached to your checking account. Not only do you get 5% off your bill right away, you also get free shipping online, an extra 30 days for returns and more.
Target does price match but if you have a Red Card you will get 5 more percent off.
The best way to get the best deal is to get the Target app, you can scan items in the store to find deals and price matches to online prices. Also, if you don't have the Red Card you will earn 1% just for having the app!
Very very very few items qualify for a rain check. If you ask for a rain check they will offer to help you purchase the item online and have it shipped to you or to the store.
Seasonal price mark downs go from 30 to 50 to 70 to 90 and are not reduced daily.
Repackaged items are a really good deal but are completely random therefor hard to find. These could also be returned items but don't worry the return policy is the same for these items as any other item.
Target worker will not, or are not supposed to, take a screen shot of any kind. This is why it is good to have the app. All your deals will be there.
I worked at TGT years ago, in pricing, but left bc I didn't agree with the lack of concern about getting items priced timely. Had that not been so, I might still be working there. I don't understand why no one has taken the time to correct such issues seeing as that pricing is one of the most important elements in retail.

Also you don’t need the target credit card to get 5% you can use their target debit card honestly it has saved me over a thousand dollars over all in shipping cost alone because you get free shipping if you have the target debit card and every so often they will give you an extra 10% on one shopping trip every 3 months or so. If you use your regular debit card all the time to shop with target just link your account to a target debit card it is the easiest thing and I love seeing my total always come down.

#6 doesn’t apply to just Christmas either. It’s mostly all seasonal items. New Year’s themed stuff. Summer beach items will follow that same percent price as well.Valentine’s Day. Fourth of July. The like. You’ll know exactly which day of the sale it is if you go to the Bulldog’s Playground section (i.e. the dollar section) and it lists the clearance percentages all over it because BPG is very seasonal with its items. However, this also means that people will assume _all_ items in BPG are on clearance, including the new items. It’s just the last season items that are on clearance.
