I find acrylic-purpose powder done as dip all cures a bit more slowly - it's almost certainly to do with how finely ground it is. Less fine = less surfaces to react with, so slower. Finely ground = more surface area. It is usually a fundamental property of how materials react, chemically. I love that that property lets the manufacturers tailor their products! But it helps to know the "why" of things behaving a bit differently, if you're deliberately using a product "off label" so to speak. Gotta try this color, thanks!
Also, I would love to see more videos using acrylic powder as dip. I found I started spending a lot of money and dip powders when I started this journey, switching from luminary and gel polish. I quickly started buying the different components to make my own because my taste in nails changes so often. I’d love to see more videos using acrylic powder as dip because it’s so much easier to buy in bulk and grind down if I have to. Love this, love you and love your content!
I just done my first dip powder nail set. I am obsessed already! I will definitely be checking for your codes because I can see me ordering from Amazon a lot. I love Azure!
I would love to see more tutorials using products differently than labeled because it opens sooooo many doors and helps us get better at the product that works best with our nail chemistry 🧪!
Cracking me up in this one! Could tell you were excited. Thanks much for the tips on gel base & top coat, who knew Sally would come to the rescue again. Thanks much Marla.
thank you for showing what the pink looks like in comparison to the right hand... it did show up as closer to white at the beginning. application is amazing again.
This is such a pretty manicure. Saw a video on how to get barely there nails and thought it was so beautiful and perfect for those who want something subtle. Sandwich one coat of color in between clear. Sip and Dip also posted a video using regular polish and I wanna try that too because you can have the prettiest color with regular polish. Start with a clear base and then go in with polish. I plan on using gel top coat for a long lasting manicure and there are infinite regular polish colors to choose from. Can’t wait to try.
Marla, I received this color yesterday and just finished my mani! OH MY WORD!!! I really may never use another color again, love, love, love it! Thank you so much!

I bought the Purtato and LOVE IT!! Thank you so much for all your hard work, Marla! On my way to buy that acrylic too! I’m also a cool toned girl and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your color recommendations!
Omg that color is Ah-Maz-ing! I love love love it! ❤ Have you ever tried the DND topcoat? I have the Gelish topcoat but, on me it scratches up and yellows within just a few days. But I'm really hard on my nails and I'm a smoker. With the DND I can go for weeks and I have zero issues. I love the Gelish foundation. That short brush makes application so easy.
So I am wondering how do you get lasting dip powder. I am a beginner but I am learning. How do you have your dipped powder last for 2 weeks, what is the secret!!
Well I'm late to the game. The pink is sold out but I got the nude blush so I'm excited to try that on my pecan skin tone. I'm waiting on the clear acrylic dip and Azure dip liquids to come tomorrow but can't wait that long to do my nails 😂
what color of this pink please? i can not find it on amazon when i check their website all the pinks got different names like Poetry, Rouge, sweet tea etc etc , ?? Thank you
She really is a beautiful color! I'm the opposite with filling issues. I tend to be a little heavy handed with my efile especially using my left hand. Between that and inappropriate removal of a dip, I did some real damage to my nails. My poor beautiful efiles aren't getting much use these days. 😢 I found that the flat edge of a glass cuticle pusher does an amazing job on that cuticle area!

Hi, Marla. Can you use this acrylic powder doing the pour-over method with gel base instead of dip base? I suffer from dip flu - yuck. I have zero issues with gel.
Could this make a good overlay option? I only like to do my manis about )7-10 days apart but love dip powder but hate removal. So would this work for doing an overlay for extra strength ( I’m an esthetician so I’m hard on my hands) and then putting a small amount of peel base then dipping over? Love your content, I’ve learned so much. I’ve done my own luminary overlays for over a year and gel polish but just found the fills with that product was super time consuming and my nails at the tip would pull/ peel away from the gel frequently no matter how I prepped. I’ve had this issue for a long time with gel products but don’t with acrylic. Thank you again for such great content!
I love this color! I bought all the products in this video to try this (using your links)! I activated twice, then did my other hand. When I started filing back on my first hand, it had never completely hardened. It had to have been at least 15 minutes or more. I'm slow! I literally watched the video and did the same steps with the same products. :) Any ideas? I'd love to do this with gel and pour over, but I seem to get yellowing on any light colors I use.

My favorite "universal": pink that I'm obsessed with is the Tickled Pink Quick Dip from Sally's. Even more beautiful when you do layers (especially with fine glitter tips) with Azure Beauty transparent colors (in my case, #344 ... doesn't have a name). 2 coats of the Tickled Pink (if you have damage that's visible like I do because I'm growing out damage from a salon), dip in Morovan's D327 (again, no name, but a fairly transparent fine glitter) for the tips and second dip into the transparent. Actually dip powder is finer than acrylic powder. Dip is put on with a glue base and if using acrylic powder it doesn't fully activate when you apply the activator. You can mix clear acrylic with dip powder to use it with monomer. If using acrylic powder as dip works for you that's great, however, as a licensed professional nail tech for many years I can say, on a professional level I do not recommend using acrylic as a dip powder.
