    “How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
    Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
    Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
    Welcome to the Young Nails family!

    I would love to see a Real Time of Tracy doing her own nails. It always takes me soooo much longer to do my own nails and I want to see if she has any tips, if it takes her the same amount of time, and troubleshooting for the non dominant hand!

      I love doing nails & it's so frustrating doing my own dominant hand it's taken me forever 2get half decent acrylic work done with my non dominant hand omg the issues I had getting my liquid 2 powder ratio trying 2use my left hand 😳🙄... I have found dip is gr8 2do but then it's time 2do my dominant hand 😅 but dip seems much easier then a full set of acrylic nails thats 4 sure.... . I have found that NSI have a dip system called simplicite` & you cure it like a gel polish & it's really good & I have found its quicker then a regular dipping systems & when I'm really lazy I will do SNS/AEON dip ON MY NON dominant hand & then use the NSI simplitie` on my dominant hand the only issue Is 1hand was a tad thicker then the other hand but both dip systems systems work gr8.

    This was VERY helpful. When I first started I had no idea what the differences were and the girl at my local beauty supply store couldn't really answer my questions either, so I experimented on my own to see for myself. I didn't know WHY they were different, just HOW they were different, so when I got my alert for this video, I literally dropped what I was doing to watch it, THANK YOU. Now, with that said, I have not tried your slick pour, just another brand, and I quickly realized that my routine with monomer and acrylic powder is not the same with dip powders. Please correct me if I'm wrong... but because it was so much finer doing Greg's "bounce bounce bounce" (lol I love saying that) I was picking up more powder because it was finer then with acrylic powder. Again, thanks for explaining the why. Also, I'd love to see a video on keeping your brush clean during acrylic application. I know that seems basic to ppl who are nails techs and do it for a living, but for us learners being able to SEE what you do with your brush and have it explained would be sooooo helpful. Tracy, your nails looked great in this video!

    I’ve made dip using regular acrylic clear and dip clear and yes I find there is a difference in the consistency of the powders and definitely in my application. I love dip. Hated doing gel,always had issues with gel but dip is awesome.

    I don’t use ALL dip as colored acrylic. Usually when I’m reviewing a dip brand on my channel, I’ll test with monomer. One of the main things I look for is that the product will fully cure. Some brands don’t due to the extra glitter or pigment in the dip powder. From a young nails brand stand point, my slick pour cures fully with monomer.

    • @youngnailsinc

      We can't speak for other brands, but our Slick Pour (dip) powders are acrylic powders and work great with our monomer. Adding clear powder can dilute the color, but you can add it. To keep the consistency of the Slick Pour and not making it feel more "grainy," we recommend using Under the Radar (clear) rather than our traditional powders as the traditional powders are a more coarse powder and not as fine as the Slick Pour.

    I have no problems picking up acrylic powder with monomer when doing petals but when I tried to switch to my dip powder (was running out of acrylic powder ) I realized the under sides of the dip powder were not setting up properly kind of chalky on the under side and was very had to get a decent med to large size pearl with out just having the brush soaking wet in monomer and risk all the dip powder falling off the brush as you lift over.
    Not sure if I just need to practice wiping my brush and applying smaller perals with dip powder but it is EXTREAMLY frustrating that I cannot get a good size pearl.

      @Ishtar2419 2 роки тому

      Yes some dip powders have more pigment than acrylic in them and they just don't set. You could try adding a bit of clear acrylic into them and see if that helps but do a small portion test (like a thimble full) don't waste a whole jar just in case it doesn't work😊

      What was the ratio of clear acrylic you used to mix with the dip powder

    • @cmayo5659
      @cmayo5659 Рік тому

      @@debbiegolden-alvarez9555 I started with about 20% clear added.
      It really depends on how much pigment is in the dip powder.
      You can also use white acrylic powder, sometimes it will separate a bit when you use white.
      I use small amounts, for example a plastic spoon of dip powder, then clear acrylic on 1/4 of the spoon.
      Not all dip powders are the same, some set just fine with monomer.
      It's crazy how a little of the dip powder can go a long way without diluting the color.
      Good luck!

If you were to put a ruler next to a coffin it would be parallel to the ruler but a ballerina nail wouldn't be Straight like the ruler

    If you guys ever add concealer flamingo to the synergy gel line then I'll stop taking the acrylic powder and "making it work" for me 😂😂 I'm obsessed with that color but only do gel for various reasons.

      How do you find the consistency /coverage of adding the acrylic to their gel? I've purchased both of their trial kits to test and now only work with gel. But I don't want to waste any of their cover powders bc they are beautiful. I was wondering if it's better to use it as a dip or mix it with gel.

      @@conniekariford8202 it works better as a dip. It's really patchy if you mix it into gel unless you make it really thick and basically make a poly gel out of it.

    I feel like this is highly dependent on the nail artist . I had one that would do dip powder as acrylic and I loved it. She left and I got someone else that...well, is sub-par. I've been unhappy with the last three sets.

    OK so I need some help I have been using my slick pour powders with applying base coat and then proceeding to sprinkle slick pour powders over the base gel then cure. Some of my clients love it a lot better than actually doing a dip powder system. So what I need help with is what would you call this service?

    I mix colored acrylic or dips into cover acrylics so I don’t always have to cap. It’s a time saver and I can get the exact colors I want!

    Question for Young Nails: I use slick pour with conversion base an top with no problems. Except with epic black. It just chips right off each time... what can cause that?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  3 роки тому

      With epic black because it is so pigmented. I recommend thinner layers and cure each layer a full 2 minutes

      They have a video for that somewhere. I think Melissa did it. I mix it with ManiQ in a jar and it works great.

      Colored acrylic and dip powder are both acrylic powders. Dip powder is a finer acrylic powder that is typically applied using a 4 step resin system while colored acrylic is applied by using a brush to dip in monomer and then the powder combine and harden on the nail.
      Since dip powder is a finer acrylic powder, it can also be used with monomer in the same way the regular acrylic powder is.
      We don't recommend using regular acrylic powder the same way you use dip powder, with a 4 step resin system, as it isn't as fine can tends to look splotchy when used that way.
