My husband has been driving around France for 20 years with no problem but just last week he had some kind of lapse and drove on the left side abd like you it shook him up 😬 it can happen to anyone so don’t let it play with your confidence. You’re doing brilliantly and producing lovely and interesting to watch videos - thank you
Emotional episode 😢 For the sink, I carry a box of bicarb of soda & a bottle of white vinegar, I put the bicarbonate down & then the white vinegar it all fizzes up & then I follow with hot water from the kettle. In between this I pop a bit of lavender flavour dettol down. We also wipe dishes & pots with kitchen paper before washing. Good tip about the screen shots, I never knew that. Thanks, Em 💜
Vinegar and bicarb. is the most fantastic cleaner ( mix first or the fizz will be all over the place 🤣) or lemon juice, kills bugs, cleans and also smells good - I use for cleaning anything and everything ❤
Just playing catch up. We put white vinegar down our sink, both in the van and at home. We also use it with a little bit of pine oil to wipe the loo down in the van. We use screenshots for info if we haven't got our notebook with us. Much easier than panicking about data or loss of Internet. I don't think we could go to a supermarket in France. Too many treats to buy. We would come home 2 stone heavier. Thanks for the history. As always perfectly executed.
Had a great evening binging on our French trip, which has set us up for our trip to Normandy in June. We’ve been before, and your videos brought back great memories. You’ve made us laugh quite a bit too, with your banter!
Hi, I’ve lived in Germany since 2001. However, when we drive back to England with our LHD bus I always make the wrong side of the road mistake at least once. It’s always a shock moment when it happens but you just have to get on and drive. Its the best way to restore confidence. Cheers from Hamburg
A very interesting video. War is such a terrible thing. We are very careful what goes down the sink and wipe dishes and pans with paper before washing. We put cheap cola in the holding tank every couple of months and drive with it before dumping. Works a treat. Safe travels 👍😊
Another enthralling video guys. I was particularly interested in the D-Day elements you included - both sad and proud of what our “ancestors” did and went through to maintain our freedom. IMO a lot of people in this country need to appreciate that far more than they do! Looking forward to your next episode 👍
Thank you for watching and commenting - the personal stories are always the ones that get to you and agree that future generations need to have some sense of what happened
WOW....Another fantastic video clip of your journey. Stew you gave the most amazing incite of your knowledge of D Day. The footage you both took was just off the scale. Oh...And you can cook !! Jane, please, the next time you are taking a video clip of cakes....Think of folk like me with the mother of all sweet tooths...Slower camera action of the cakes. Show Stew's finger prodding the cakes and slurping the creamy toppings. lol Keep Safe and Keep Camping. X
Great video guys! If you've got a standard water type trap maybe consider a waterless trap. That's what we've got fitted and no smells have come through.
We did the tour of Merville Battery last year when in France. Absolutely loved it. The show for the battle experience was fantastic. What they went through and how frightening it must have been for the young soldiers doesn't bear thinking about. There are loads of fantastic historical sites in the area. We stayed at Cote de Nacre Sandaya camp for 3 weeks and its literally 3/4 minutes walk from Juno Beach.
Juno beach is in the next but one episode and a lovely beach - it was a well laid out site at Merville as you say and well told Thanks for watching and sharing your comments
great video and since Ken and Carol sent me over your channel its now one of my favourites! You guys keep it real and I had a good laugh at the google translate last episode! 🤣
Great tip for Iphone users Jane. We were at Sword beach over Easter. Some impressive houses on the seafront there. My other half did exactly the same as you Stu, as he came out of a supermarket; I was shouting right, right! lol
Hi brought me to tears, seeing all those mens photos & the loss of so many lives. Bring home in a real visual sense what the war was & the cost to humanity. Because of them we have the freedom we have today. But war still prevails today, in many countries. 😢 Your photography & videoing is getting better all the time. Cheers Lynne Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🐨👋🏻♥️💙
Great video, military history sad though. 😓. Don’t know if you can use bicarb in your sink system, but I’ve always found it effective for smells. Sink might just need a good flush if you are already careful about what goes down. Worst comes to worst, I’ve been told cheap hair conditioner can loosen gunk on the sides of a pipe. Cheers to you both! 😊
Hi Jane and Stew, another great video, aye sat nav's can lead you down a road you don't want to go. Sad to see all those pictures of young faces of men and boys who lost their lives. Easily done to revert back to driving on the side you're used to, especially after having a couple of days where you were under the weather. Roll on the next instalment.
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for watching the video and commenting A mission that went wrong but enough done and probably saved enough lives in the early hours
Another interesting vlog. Really brings home the sacrifice of those who fought on those beaches. We usually put a small capful of Zoflora disinfectant down our plug holes to help with smells. Looking forward to more from France ❤
Thanks guys for watching it was a failed mission that actually succeeded to and probably saved many lives that day on Sword Beach Thanks re the tip and for watching of course
Hi, funnily enough. The only ailment I have had that stopped me from driving, was self inflicted and it was the one of the covid jab boosters. I had the jab the day before we went to Scotland ( we weren't locked down then ) and had to stop at a lay by for some time because it was sending me to sleep nodding as i drove, just like Narcolepsy, which was extremely dangerous and had to stop otherwise I would have fallen asleep and crashed. I have never previously had trouble with falling asleep at the wheel. I can't blame it on being naturally tired at the time either because we had just set off from where we had stayed. Those covid jabs had a lot to answer for. Still got Covid twice even after the jabs. Regarding the van sink, if it is a tank, I would empty it first, then fill it with puriclean in water up to capacity and leave it overnight, then empty it. If it is just a pipe to the outside, plug the end of the pipe outside and again fill the pipe up and into the sink with puriclean solution and leave it overnight.
Thanks for sharing your story - it certainly shakes you up when you have an incident I have heard of puriclean so will take another look Thanks for watching
So much bravery as you say from ordinary people doing extraordinary things. It must have been he'll and many of them so young. Well done Stew for even attempting to drive in Europe. That would be my fear. Setting off with no traffic to follow and forgetting which side to drive on. Ask Jane to find you a jumbo Twix...that should sort you out, no problem! 👌🙂🐕🚙
Yes it shook me a bit and was angry with myself but easily done early in the morning having stopped for 3 days The story was a bit sobering as the 150 men probably saved countless lives on the 6th June even if they only temporarily put them out of action Thanks for watching hope you are both well
Yes a remarkable story of a failed mission but was also successful if you get me and they probably saved many lives on the beach that day Thanks for watching
Tight fit on that bridge! Thanks for the tours of the beaches - sad stuff. For drains, we use a bit of Solbio (loo stuff) and it works well. No funky drain or loo smell.
Thanks for watching - you know when you get to a situation where you carry on instead of stopping and reversing - we were a bit lucky Thanks re Solbio tip Thanks for watching
I’m away in Scandinavia for nearly my full 90 days in my autocamper and I put a 90 day eSIM in my iPhone for three months. You leave your original sim in for calls. The eSIM gives yes uoubunlimted data for 3 months for about £100. No issues yet. I used Holafly but there are others. Covers all of Europe.
Great watch, really interesting. Don't beat yourself up Stu over the little driving blip, it can happen to all of us. I did laugh at the fly catching because I'm being pestered by a mosquito as I'm watching you in "Kermit" in Poland. 👍🐸
Hi Do you have any experience of sites in krakow itself we think the better can find is a site called clepardia that seems to look the best for 3 nights etc later in the year ?
Thanks for sharing another informative video Stew & Jane. It was very thought provoking to hear you describe the sacrifices made by so many and the photos of those involved. I have to admit the wandering over to the left side of the road has happened to me more than once in the past.
Thanks for sharing a very interesting video, all you've shown us about the war was most interesting but very sad as so many young lives were lost... the drone footage was awesome as was surviving driving on the wrong side of the road....Keep safe....
I've read the possible solution to Jane`s sink hole problem which have been posted on a bohemian channel as of today 👀🤬 I am amazed at the number of quality episodes you have produced during this series. Very entertaining and informative and really good alternating narratives. Great work to both of you.😃☺
Thank you and glad you are enjoying them as we put a lot of effort in - the next few have a bit of military history due to where we are travelling Thanks for watching and we will look into the water tip
I’m really enjoying your videos from France. Thank you. We have always stuck some kind of drain cleaner down the sink - even if you sieve the big bits out it can develop stinks. (Bad eggs?). Just moving to Solbio. Biological solution. Can send u a link? X
Will look up Solbio as not heard of that one - I suspect it’s worse when the tank is emptier and better when there is some water in there Thanks for the tip and watching
Thanks for watching I use it sometimes to verify positions based on others sharing the info - by typing it into the w3w app you can navigate on Google maps or simply grab the coordinates of a place and then paste into Google maps
Jane, I’m French and I have to say that Google Translate is wrong and your pronunciation is fine! I understood you when you said ‘je suis anglais’. It definitely didn’t sound like ‘je suis en deuil’ (I’m in mourning)! Being female, you should however say ‘je suis anglaise’ (‘aise’ is pronounced ‘aze’), the way you pronounce it is correct for Stew. I hope this makes you feel better! 😊
Thank you for commenting this - I think those of us who use this phrase went into panic mode and lose of confidence about pronunciation yet again - feel better now
We're still catching up...
What an amazing museum. Interpretation is such an important way of keeping these stories alive.
Thanks for watching - yes it’s vital the stories are understood for future generations

Yes I agree it just shook me thinking about what could of happened
Thanks for watching
We use biosan from ALDI.
Or any cheap home brand nappysan.
We mix a solution up,pour down sink or toilet..works.
Thanks for the tip and watching the video
Dont be so hard on yourself Stew . We have all gone the wrong side in France at one time or another lol.
Yep 👍 it just caught me off guard I must say
Thanks for watching

Thanks for watching and your suggestion - the pipe is a straight me and no trap so need to look at that

Another great video, thank you for the D day filming, my dad was on a destroyer on the 6th June, HMS Faulkner.
You must be hugely proud - do many ordinary men doing exceptional tasks

We're doing OK just about to head home after our latest exploits 🙂🐕🚙
great history and such is the tragedy of war. So Sad.

Amazing that such communications 80 years ago was being used - interestingly we came across him in Ireland as that’s where he was bred

Oh blimey not a great feeling having had an incident recently in Ireland
@@getawaygeese makes you feel awful still it’s done now, I’ll get it fixed x
Hi thanks for the great content We have been driving abroad since 1980 a good tip is to put a card in the dash with an arrow pointing to the right.
Great tip - I do have a sticker in the window and being front door f the queue I just simply lost focus
Thanks for watching and commenting
Another great vlog again, so interesting. Safe travels 👍
Glad you enjoyed it - thanks for watching

Take care and safe travels
Thank you so much - i will have that in mind for next time !! Especially the "aze" part. ☺️

@tracyann6029 I know how you feel as we worked hard to get it right so feeling we were so wrong on translate knocked us
Another van lifer throws scented laundry softener in her holding tank so any residue water is scented. She does this after emptying grey water.
Thanks for the tip - Jane will take a look at that
Thanks for watching
