Love Tigers but even a Siberian is only 500lbs at best. Alaskan Grizzley are 1350-1650lbs. There are weight classes for a reason.

Brown Bears have too much loose skin for a Lion or Tiger to get a good bite.

I had a hose once, Tiri she was rubbing her butt against the fences, i mean the barb wire, so i dosed her with ivermectin.
Next day she was arse up against a post and i thought her tail was stuck, but it was a giant tape worm sane colour, stuck in the barb on corner post tie off, it had its own little barbs like a fish hook all over it and would not come out. Stuck in the horse and on the fence, i upped the dose and it took 2 hours for Tiri to get it out.
No idea how long i couldn't stretch it out, but it half filled a 110kgm wheelbarrow.

When I was 5 years old we went to the gold mine in Timmins Ontario and a baby bear was standing on his back legs in front of me so I petted him on the head and said good dog. My dad said get in the car. Next dad was running from momma bear. Funny. 55 years ago

The biggest bear in the world was the Scottish (Caledonian) bear, was like a big brown polar bear and the Romans used to have them fight everything, lions, wolves etc.. the bears were never defeated, they would smash a lions head in, and then rip them apart, the bears went extinct from Scotland due to the Romans buying them all for the games in the colosseum, it must have been a sight to see..

Bears are opportunists, they will choose to go for easy prey or munch on berries or fish in order to maintain their energy reserves. Look up bear 164 out of alberta canada, it got hit by a car going 60 mph (100km/hr) and literally walked away with a mild concussion, leaving the car a totaled undriveable mess. 3 weeks later they darted the bear, found no injuries and it had actually gained weight. The thick, loose hide and layer of blubber give it some the best natural defense on the planet. No large cat, lion or tiger, have the defensive tools to win in a forced fight.

I ask people this question all the time and it blows my mind how many people think the silverback would win. I also always raise the stakes and ask bear vs tiger and they usually side with the bear on that one but in my opinion a tiger (IMHO the scariest predatory animal) would be able to do more damage to a bear but in both cases the bear wins just by sheer mass and the fact that their hair is basically armor. Tiger might leave a scar at least, but that gorilla aint doing shit.

I've got nothing for you on Grizzlies. I do however have a potentially untrue story about tigers and lions. I went to a reserve in South Africa and this old dude I was talking to who lived in the region said some dumb ass rich Dutch guy bought a Tiger (not indigenous to the area) like 30 or 40 years ago. It kept getting bigger and bigger and he was feeding it living animals. Supposedly it got out, and the guy stressed this part a bunch.... in one night ONE night, killed an entire pride of lions on the reserve.
Rome probably settled these debates centuries ago tbh

So Tigers actually don't live in Africa. Lions do, however. The lions on the reserve live pretty normal, "wild" lives, and the reserves are set up for people to view them as well as keep them safe from hunters/poachers. The tiger was bought privately by a person who lived near the reserve. The owner was not involved with the reserve at all... Basically just think of some jack ass who wanted to own a tiger and keep it from its natural habitat as a "pet." Again this was all just told to me by a old man living in South Africa near the reserve, I have no idea whether it is true, but it was an awesome story to hear. He told it very well too, I'm not doing it justice. He said a tiger will stalk its prey is very, very difficult to prepare for its attack. Lions are pack hunters and hunt at night. Leopards live on the reserve as well, and they are more like a tiger. They have a very, very high kill percentage but their kills are often claimed by hyena's and lions. I'm not as familiar with tigers and have never seen one in the wild, but I'd imagine they have a very high kill percentage and are more stalkers than lions. @@visilbe

See a gorilla wouldn't even know what to do since its never encountered anything like a fully grown kodiak bear that can match its strength with long claws and a powerful bite force with canines that would shred a gorilla not to mention the major difference in durability. Gorilla's skin is not meant to withstand that level of damage unlike the bear.
This comes from eating all that salmon with parasites.
A siberian tiger can reach 700 lbs where as a silverback is about 450

Grizzly neck is too large, the cat wouldnt be able to secure the kill before being ragdolled and then mauled to death.

Animal fighting rings existed in the gold rush era of california, they put grizzlies up against everything, and the grizzlies were so dominant that it put the fighting pits out of business, theyd even brought in lions for em to fight, they went down in one hit.

The Romans put tigers vs lions all the time. And lucky for us, they kept records. Tigers won, all the time. They eventually started putting especially large male lions vs especially small female tigers just to try to make the fight more interesting.
So tigers beat lions like 95% of the time. But put an 800-1500 pound brown bear against a tiger and the bear wins at least 80% of the time.
