Slovenian is a mix of West Slavic and South Slavic, but because of historic reasons it became closer to South Slavic.
It isn`t mixof western and south Slavic languages, but it is more archaic. It has some features,which they are just in Sanskrit. Even some words, for an example Dežela. It is just in Sanskrit and Asian languages from Hindi language. Also name Bangladesh has the same word - desh - whichmeansthe same - country. Also numbering from 20 to 99 isn`t influenced by German language, but from Sanskrit. By the way, Slovene is more archaick as German.
@@bojanstare8667 Slovenian is not, and could not be, influenced by Sanskrt, but they are both Indo-European and It could be that Slavic Languages are closer to Sanskrt than other members of Indo-European family. It is true however that Slovenian is a very arhaic language and Sanskrt is a very old one, but they did not influenced each other, they simply have a common ancestor language.
Historic teritory of Alpine or Carantanian Slavs who were ancestors of today Slovenes was settled in two big migration waves, first was from the North-East and the second was from the South-East, later they also settled on Karstic platoe, parts of Littoral Slovenia, Istria and so on... Some very minor diferences among the language of these Slavic groups could already existed, in case of Slovenes there could be a fusion of them and because Slovenian is an uncommonly arhaic language we can today still see many of the residues of the Old Slavic.

@@valentintapata2268 OK, where in Slavic world you can find word dežela? Where in Slavic world you can find full dual form? Just in descendant of Venedi - Sorbian and descendant of Veneti - Slovene. And of course in Sanskrit. Do you know who was the biggest buyers of Amber? India. And who was the seller? Venedi and Veneti. Both of both ends of Amber road. Both they were good sailors (same as Armiorica Veneti) and loved horses. And also steel. How surpising. And Germans have named all tribes on Amber road as Wenden, Windischer or Wends. And all Slavic people on the border of Slavic world have had names Slovenci, Slovinci, Sloveni etc. From Adriatic to the Baltic and even on Ilmen lake. Also on the border with east Roman empire (Sklabenoi).

Mmmm... Eh-eh. It's a bit more complicated than that. We have genders for the objects too. You wouldn't just say "moj noga". "Noga" is a feminine object. So you would go mojA noga for 1, Moji nogi for 2, Moje noge for 3-4 and mojih nog for 5 or more. And also don't forget the IRDTMO. Aka: Kdo ali kaj, koga ali česa, komu ali čemu, koga ali kaj, o kom ali o čem and s kom ali s čim. Also there are some words like GOL and GOL. No, they don't mean the same thing, they're pronounced differently and you have to extract what it means from the context. Same with PRST and PRST. They look the same, they sound the same, but one means dirt and the other one means finger.

Slovene language has a lot of prefix and sufix. Moj is root of word. Moja, moji, moje have different sufix for number - singular, dual and plural. But this is quite simple. You have to see different forms of verbs. Moj means my.

Forgot this. I'm in the 6th grade and slovene is the hardest subject to me beside math. Trust me when I say slovenian is very very hard! We have 6 nouns, 3 adjectives, 3 adverbs and verbs. Each of them have like 1000000000000000 questionnaires.
Have you meant 6 cases of nouns (Serbian has 7), 3 different numbers also of verbs and adjectives.
@@bojanstare8667 probably, yes. We don't have vocative here. But we do have 3 tenses (roughly), 3 grammatical genders, 3 grammatical numbers and 5 different declination systems, that are specific to grammatical gender of the noun. We also match gender, number and case of the adjectives to the noun and the gender and number of the verb to the subject as in most Slavic languages. Thus the sentence structure is implied by the suffixes and word order is less important for comprehension.
"Dnes sije sonce" is not SVO. "Today shines sun." Sun is the object. "Shines" is the verb. "Today" is the adverb, not the subject. There is no object in the sentence. Also, the possessive noun determiner "moj," has to match its noun. Moj, moji, moje
I speak Croatian natively and I don't know Slovene, but the way he explained formal personal pronoun bugs me. Is it written lower-case or upper-case?

You forgot to mention the Montenegrin language. It's certified in the ISO standardization as an independent language as well. Same with Bosnian. Despite striking similarities between each other, Serbian, Montenegrin, Bosnian and Croatian are considered different languages even if there are a few words in difference.

You don`t know who has used first that feature. Slovene is more archaic than German language. That kind of numbering Slovene language became from Sanskrit and not from German language. Slovene has also 6 cases of nouns, German has just 4 and without sufix.

The author has no idea about the Slovenian language, as some have already pointed out. Commentators have already mentioned errors in the declension of the noun 'foot', the declension of the phrase 'dobro dan' is also incorrect. The correct word is, of course, 'dober dan', for 'dan' is masculine, not neuter.
I don't think you should be on UA-cam with such a poor knowledge of the language, which you are trying to present.

Oh boy, this is really tricky and I'll give you my answer but take it lightly...
"today" is an adverb you're correct. But the sun is shining ON that day, so it's (in my opinion) the subject.
"today shines sun": danes sije sonce. 2 suns would be: "danes sijeta sonci". 3 suns would be: danes so sijala sonca. You also have to know how to conjugate words in dual for 2 women, 1 man and 1 woman.
In Slovene language is not so regular -SVO. Sometimes is subject hiden in verb. That`s way our language is so complex in prefix and sufix. From verb you know gender and numver of subjects. So sometimes you don`t need to tell subjects - instead SVO you just use VO sentence. Story with sentence - Danes sije sonce. - is more complex. It is the same as I say: Včeraj sem prišel domov. Direct translation in English: Yesterday came home. Strickly VO sentence. That is valid for man. For woman is sentence: Včeraj sem prišla domov. As you see sufix -la determine gender. For number goes so: Včeraj sva prišla domov. Means two of us (sva - it is part of verb, not subject) came home. And it is also more complex, because verb is in two words sva and prišla. And prišla is the same as for feminile and singular, but in this case is masculin and dual. Yeah, I know. Slovene language is very complex and hard to learn. But when you learn it, it is very logical and natural.
Maybe you could see (OK hear) how American from Boston has had problems with Slovene language. 🙂

Slovenia is the smallest country in all of the world. I think they should go annex Serbia, Romania, Italy. They have historical claims on that land. Thank you very much sir, love to Slovenia from Bangladesh.

ou forget Austria. :D Most part of Austria is derived from Slovene state inm middle ages - Caranthania. And it is a funny fact of Bangladesh. Desh has the same root and meaning as Dežela - word in Slovene language. Dežala means country. And Stan like Pakistan means home.
Serbia and Romania don't even share a border. What you meant is probably Austria and Croatia

So basically they never existed as Slovenians...They don't seem to have any history of there own! Russian is more like mother to all Slavic languages since Slavs And Balts separated right there where today's Lithuania and Russia is.
It seems like that, but only because the author left out some important parts of our history. We had our first country in 7th century and have been fighting off germans, italians and hungarians ever since.

@@miglius1992 Our language is not under the Russia. Our inscribtion from 10th centuray is actually the oldest text is written in Slaviclanguage in latin characters. Our first country was Carinthia, bigger than today Austria. And the south border of it it was the same as today Austrian south border.
