I have made a third and final video about our COVID experience where I answer 6 of the most commonly asked questions about our experience: ua-cam.com/video/RZMoUInLiuY/v-deo.html
Hello Amber, I hope your doing great, may i ask on what day your taste and smells back? We have the same symptoms, im afraid to take a bath everyday because of my clogged nose. I still lost my taste and smell. This is my Day 3, right now i dont have bodypain or feeling fatigue anymore . Please reply
It frustrates me when people say, “Oh you see you had mild symptoms so why is everybody making such a big deal?” I know for a fact that it is a big deal. My mother was just diagnosed with Covid recently and I’ve been in the house taking care of her. I tested negative but had to take care of her and my kids and this has been rough on us all! This is a very big deal because she’s 70 and even though her symptoms weren’t very severe, she still has suffered and it was horrible, she said she though she was going to die! Imagine how that would feel 🤦🏻♀️ This virus is horrible and I pray no one has to endure what we have recently. Prayers to everyone out there and hope your smell & taste comes back soon. There are so many people that are called “ long haulers” that still haven’t gotten their senses back or still have chronic fatigue and they had mild cases as well it’s a fact I am it’s scary 😟 😢
Frustrates me too!! I care for my 79yr old mom, with several compromising conditions...I have a sign on each door(I found on the internet) that have a stop sign & explanation! Thankfully I've kept her safe, I've been wearing a mask since the day I flew to another state(Jan2020) & everywhere we go! Her dr has filled many prescriptions with just a conference call and/or me texting pics of her...he tries to keep her out of the Dr office as much as possible! When I see people denying the virus, protesting the virus, arguing about the virus & refusing to wear masks it infuriates me to no end!! The US is denied entry to many countries due to the lack of & ignorance in conquering this virus, and I honestly have no sympathy when the "deniers" contract it!
@@knatural7754 thank you so much it was one of the worst experiences of our lives I pray no one has to deal with this or watch their loved one go through it. 🙏
Everyone is upset bc u made a video over mild symptoms. I am thankful bc my symptoms have been almost 100 percent like yours day by day and I wanted to see others with mild cases. I hope and pray I don’t take a turn for the worse, I keep expecting to wake up worse then the day before but GOD has been shining on me. Interested to know when U get ur taste and smell back and how u feel now. Thank you
The first sign of my taste/smell coming back was around day 11 of symptoms. Now I'm about 30 days out, and it is probably 80% back! I hope you keep feeling better!
Agreed. I am having mild symptoms so far, day 4. I’m terrified of my symptoms taking a nose dive in the next few days. I appreciate your video so much exactly because it’s one of the stories that’s “boring” and mild. I just keep praying my fiancé and I will stay on the “ok” side of this thing. Glad you’re recovered!
People seem to forget that majority of covid cases are like this. Asymptomatic to mild symptoms with just home isolation. I tested positive on the 5th of May with my first symptom (fever and sore throat) starting on the first of may. I've just been isolating at home and monitoring my oxygen saturation and temp every 4 hours. Only other symptoms have been some random cough, lost my taste and smell on the 5th of may.
I honestly do not understand why people think its no big deal just because some people are not having severe symptoms... we need to pray for recovery of all with covid, and pray for those who think its no big deal..🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
The CDC says the symptoms of COVID-19 and influenza are so similar a test is needed. Since you cannot see the virus this requires you to believe in the test. Few people are alive who remember 1918 Influenza. We still have a ways to go to reach that death toll. CDC Source www.cdc.gov/flu/symptoms/flu-vs-covid19.htm
Edith Carter exactly right, they only think of themselves. There was this pest control guy whom I asked to wear mask and he refused several times. I told him it's not only for his good sakes but also protecting others, still he insists "no-no", not believing the severity of this pandemic.
@@trainablemonkey9912 yes the symptoms are indeed verry similar to influenza! But the mass anxiety thru the media/anxious people/gouvernement and people with underlying issues/older people are the cause of the destructive results of covid.
@@freespirit4941 I know someone who got covid, he is a young father, in excellent health, worked as a high school coach. The entire family got covid, his wife and kids had very mild symptoms and got over it quickly. He did not have it so easy, he landed up in the hospital for months because he could not breath, he survived but had to undergo a double lung transplant because his lungs were destroyed. He had no underlying issues, he was young, he was fit, and it almost killed him.
@@edithcarter3554 Yes, less than 2% in Ohio and half of them are in LTC facilities. You can check these facts by going to the Ohio CORONAVIRUS statistics. Do we wear masks, keep our distances and wash our hands? YES, TO ALL.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your COVID experience. I do get frustrated when, as you mentioned people want to downplay the concern or fuss over the virus. For me the biggest thing is that you are SO contagious before you even know you are positive and will be passing it to everyone. I'm happy to hear that you both were taking all the right precautions and sorry that you got sick anyway.
Tu for sharing your journey. People need to realize that the amount of virus you intake matters. Each persons immune system is different & handles viruses differently too. Age & overall health matter. Keep getting better. God bless!
Thank you for not downplaying the possible severity. Lots of times folks may be totally unaware that they have an underlying issue like diabetes and Covid can come along and knock a seemingly healthy person on their ass.
Hi Amber-Im so glad I came across your videos. Ive been lucky so far and havent gotten Covid until now. I started having symptoms on Wed, home test was neg put rapid test at the pharmacy was Positive. My worst symptoms have been a high fever and cough. Your videos give me insight to what I can expect. Hope you and your family are still healthy and doing great!
Thank you for sharing these! SO many of the UA-cam videos are just click bait, thank you for the realistic, detailed but not dramatized (the number of thumbnails with some lady smiling with an at-home “breathing treatment” was astounding 🙄) I am on day 5 of symptoms, tested positive on day 1 so far they have been mild for me as well (30 and otherwise healthy-ish). But knowing that this isn’t always the case, that you never know who may have an underlying condition, that this spreads very quickly and the medical world needs us to stand with them and not overwhelm the system is absolutely 1000% why people should be taking it seriously. I appreciate you acknowledging that too! Will be following along on your journey. Best wishes
Just happened upon your video. I appreciate everything you have to say. Well done! My daughter is 31, single and got COVID around Thanksgiving. Not sure where she contracted it. None of her friends have it or have gotten sick since she came down with it. She has always worked from home and is extremely responsible. She started out on the first day with aches and pains in her legs and she just chalked it up to not exercising enough. She had recently moved from Brooklyn NY where she was fine, to a new major city and hasn't gotten into an exercise routine again. Then on the second day of feeling achy, she must have had a slight fever because she said she sweated alot that night. Next day she had lost her sense of smell and some sense of taste. That is when she realized she must have COVID and went for a Rapid test which proved positive. She was congested as well. She did not mention any headaches but she just might not have told me! She stayed the same with the sense of smell for a few days. Then it came back 50 percent and the last I talked to her she said 70 percent. She has always used Emergen C or another type of Immunity booster as well as extra Vitamin D. Luckily she has friends that were able to get her whatever groceries she needed as well. She just went this past Wednesday for another Rapid test and tested Negative. She is going for a PCR test and an Antibody test next week. We all have different immune systems and all react differently. It is very scary to a lot of people who have compromised immune systems. I hope you and your husband recover fully from this.
From the land down under, best wishes to you and your husband for a speedy recovery. Hopefully other people, who view your updates, understand that each individual develop different symptoms but mostly importantly you’re setting an example by quarantining yourselves so you don’t spread the virus to others. Good on you and Jacob! I’m so thankful that there are still decent people in the US who think this pandemic is not just made up.
Thank you! There are definitely a good portion of us who know that it is very real. I hope my videos help people recognize, who otherwise may not have, that they have COVID (i.e. I had no fever and minimal cough which is the opposite of what I expected).
It was nice to hear from someone who did not have severe symptoms not saying it was no biggie. I’ve watched a few who said I don’t know what all the fuss is about, it’s barely more than a cold. They seem to miss the point that they were lucky. If they look at the death toll they should realize they were more fortunate than many people and that the medical profession is starting to wear thin from their efforts to save lives. Thank you for pointing out the reasons to still try to prevent the spread. May you both make a complete recovery soon.
Great information, I’m really glad you guys are feeling better without a need for medical intervention. I’m in Indiana and 20 years older than the two of you so I really enjoyed your informative videos. I’ve managed to stay away from Covid thus far so thank you for being responsible people when you were quarantined. God bless.
Thanks for the info, this virus really scares me. I am high risk along with my husband. Was so glad to see you guys were doing everything right. I really don't understand people that think is a hoax or just like the flue or a cold, thanks for telling them like it is.
I’m very sorry for your loss, this is devastating for so many families. My brother-in-law lost a young 20’s something cousin, she was out at a bar-restaurant and became short of breath a few days later. She had asthma and couldn’t breathe, was intubated and never even made it on the ventilator when she passed. My heart goes out to you and everyone who has lost. Loved one.
I am very glad you acknowledged that although most people get mildly Ill, but for some people it is fatal. And for sharing the fact that hospital capacity issues are a big deal. Extremely responsible and I thank you that! Thank you very much for sharing your Covid journey. God bless and feel better soon!
Thank you for your videos and for opening up to the world. People still don't get that we are all very different people. Our DNA is different, and our genetics. What may be mild for most could kill someone else. I'm a Registered Nurse, I am at risk for exposure every day. I also have two preexisting conditions. So if I get it, I can only pray for a mild case. And even if it is mild, it could still do me more harm than most. Thanks again for your sharing. I pray for your speedy recovery and for your sense of smell and taste to return to you soon.
Thanks for sharing your experience. It brings it home for me a little more each time I see someone share that way. And I don't know about anyone else, but I've never lost my sense of smell from having a cold or the flu (the couple times I've had it in my life), if I had something that felt like a cold or the flu and I also couldn't smell or taste anything, that right there would freak me out. Besides that, it seems that people experience Covid as being a disease that is out to attack, and that it just sucks the life out of you. I would want to take really easy and not make sure anyone else around me caught it.
I'm so glad your addressing this people who dont understand covid. My nephew 24yrs old died two weeks ago from it. So God bless you and your husband . Or good vibes and well wishes if you prefer. We are numbers including you thank you for sharing. .
I stumbled across your very clear and non-political video of the first signs and symptoms. I have auto immune diseases, i am 62 of age and i live on Vancouver Island Canada. We remained almost Covid free until autumn and now most of our island is also effected. It is very contagious as you know, also it is mentally draining remaining isolated, but i must, i, like many have little choice. I wanted to express how important it is during such a crisis for good clear information, common sense, and the respect to others. Wear a mask everyone, all over the world, please and thankyou from a small corner
I’m glad you are feeling better and I love your comments regarding COVID vs flu at the end! Wishing you and your husband well as you continue getting well!
Glad you posted your daily symptoms. This is valuable information. Unfortunately there’s a percentage of the population that either don’t care or don’t take it seriously UNTIL it hits them or their family. With over 14 million reported cases and over 280,000 deaths in the U.S. it’s hard to imagine that there are people that ignore the hard data. Anyway, I hope you and your husband have a full recovery soon. Thank you.
Omg I got covid last Monday, tested Tuesday & found out I had it on Christmas. I lost my taste Thursday & still can’t taste nor smell. So frustrating, but I have hope! Wishing the best of luck with your recovery!
Amber's videos are highly watchable. I am in England, 77-year-old male, and I haven't had Covid. I was tested twice before separate hospital appointments, both negative. However, I reckon I got some strain of "pre-Covid" back in December 2019. I was staying with relatives in Germany over Christmas and suddenly I was getting night sweats. These lasted for three days. Then I started developing a sore throat just after Boxing Day and the following day I flew back to England. As I drove the 150 miles home from the airport I started a dry, tickly cough. This was all long before Covid became an issue, by the way. The cough got really bad and I took a really good cough medicine for it. But the cough lasted all throughout January 2020 until the second week of February. By then, the media were all talking about this new virus from China and in March 2020 Britain had its first lockdown. I had fully recovered by then from the cough and was symptom free. Perhaps this explains why I never was infected with Covid, as this infection I had gone through gave me immunity. Since 2020 I have had all the vaccine shots and boosters, which give me a sore arm for a few days, but that's all. After the second vaccine I did suddenly get very severe headaches which concerned my doctor to get myself along to A&E (ER in the US) because the medics were concerned about blood clots. I had all kinds of tests over seven hours, but nothing physical was found. Anyway, that's been my experience these last three years! I hope you've made a full recovery since you made your videos, and now I'm going to watch the final one where you discuss your pregnancy.
I test positive today last fri I slept from 6pm to 6am body was hurting so bad face swollen and chills this is day 6 I have runny nose and diarrhea other than that I’m up moving around in the house
I’m glad I came across this as it was very informative. Where I live (England) right now it’s the Omicron strain that’s mostly doing the rounds and I’m on day 7 of Covid and have the symptoms for omicron but the symptoms I have are exactly just like you had except I haven’t lost my sense of smell or taste. Just feeling really wiped out and tired with a sore throat and stuffy
Thanks for your video.it’s a great corrective to some of the stories we get in the UK about irresponsible behaviour in the US. Hope you fully recover soon
So glad to someone being responsible to this. You truly care about others. My coworker lost a brother in law two weeks ago. 39 years old. He was a father to two children. Heartbreaking. So very nice to see your videos.
Thank you! 😂 I thought about not sharing the BO dream, but I am hoping to just be my authentic self on this channel and not edit out things that might be a little weird. 😂
Thank you so much for making these videos. This shows average level symptoms and it seems quite manageable but what a difference a few years and a couple of bad habits can make. I am a 58 year old smoker who drank more than my fair share of beer in my day. I have been hospitalized twice. The second time I was released too early from the hospital. I have no idea what they gave me but when I left the hospital, I had no idea who I was or where I lived. I walked around town as a bag of germs, likely infecting people everywhere I went. This went on for at least 3 days and nights. I was too stupid to even know to ask for help. I have been considered healthy for a few weeks now but there are effects that linger. Many days I just feel stupid. I second guess every decision and I can't stand germs. I don't go out and I don't feel like the virus is gone. When I got sick, one of the symptoms was that I felt I could smell fire, or burning metal. I still smell that quite often. I eat a lot of Chinese food and constantly clean out my fridge of old food and potential germs. There are many foods that turn me off immediately. I have lost at least 20 pounds but eventually I am going to run out of body fat to live off of. I have always been depressed. In this case I might have an advantage over other "long haulers" in that I understand depression to be a thing that just goes away from time to time. Depression is potentially a huge problem for those who don't understand how it works. The clock stops and it seems like the moments will never pass. Depressed people do stupid things with big consequences. I know these symptoms will pass and that I will get better because I have always lived with depression Others might not be so fortunate. If you know people who have fallen victim of depression as a result of covid, keep an eye on them. offer support and make sure they are going to be ok. Remember - teen suicide is almost always a knee jerk reaction to depression and it is not restricted to 12 year old little girls. Depression is a killer if left un-checked.
You make a very good point about how different the symtoms can be. That is the very reason everyone needs to take care, this virus is super unpredictable and it has even caused serious side effects for healthy people. Thanks for sharing and for being so responsible ❤
Thank you for sharing. I have been quarantining for 6 days now and have all the symptoms you shared having. Still waiting on results. Although the fatigue is bad, the loss of smell and taste has been by far the most disturbing thing to go through. Headaches and fatigue have been rough too.
I just came back positive on Saturday 12-12-20 have no smell no taste headache 😫 and my body hurts I get a very very dry cough at night please be safe its very serious
Tested positive day after thanksgiving. The pains i experienced in my Rtd arm and my back almost immediately with a low grade fever scared me. I took emergen-C 2 VITAMIN C VITAMIN D NAC Tylenol and zycam. Each day was an adventure with excruciating headache , nosebleed, muscle and body aches, back pain horrible , fatigue , nausea and diarrhea. On day 12 i got a fever 103.5 . I got it down and the next days started feeling better. I’m 57 and in great shape . Now I’m coughing but that’s it. My husband same but less extensive than me he’s 63
Thank you for sharing. I am currently on day 7 with covid and have had a very similar experience to yourself. No fever, no cough but loss of taste and smell. Today I've been feeling anxious about what may lie ahead and you've really helped me to relax a bit. Thank you
@@creativecreep I am thankfully, fully recovered now. My taste & smell returned on day 14. I have also had my first vaccine dose & waiting for the 2nd.
My granddaughter who was a healthy 21 yr. old got COVID. We didn't think she was gonna make but pulled through! Whew! Now her daughter who is 2 has it! The worst part for me was and is, is that I can't see them to give a hug and kiss!!
I'm so glad your granddaughter is okay. I hope her daughter is okay as well! Hopefully there will be a safe vaccine soon so you can hug and kiss them as often as needed. :)
Aw so sorry Kathy. I can tell you as a daughter with a child the NUMBER ONE person we miss is MOM!! I never realized how dependent I am on my Mom not economically but EMOTIONALLY. I hate that the worst about the virus. My mom is pretty stoic but she's starting to get antsy.
My 51 yr old sister has COVID . Her daughter was exposed and infected my sister during Christmas . My sister was already sick with autoimmune disease. She didn’t need COVID too. My mom just called me to tell me my sister was just taken to the ER. She can’t breathe. She got pneumonia and that’s when her health went down hill. I’m gonna go coz I’m about to cry again. She’s my only sister. She’s all I have. I can’t lose her.
Amber, thank you for these videos. I am on day 9 of COVID and finally feel good again. I am 53 and do have 1 underlying condition that could have impacted my recovery. I watched all of your COVID vids as well as numerous other vids from folks going through the same thing. Those vids helped me tremendously, especially in the early days, when I did not know what I was looking at and whether I was going to recover or not. I am glad that you and your husband are doing well and got past this. Thanks again.
It’s been one month since going through COVID sickness. No more symptoms today but still testing positive via PCR test. 1 MONTH...still testing positive.
Omgosh! My sun tested positive and is not getting paid to be off work. He has to test negative b4 he can return to work. If he continues to test positive with no symptoms this will make him bankrupt! He doesn't have insurance and is having to pay 100 bucks every time he gets tested! I work in the medical field and caught covid but I am not required to retest to return to work . Like my son I too am not getting paid to stay home. I pray my son tests negative so he can return to work.
@@tweety5331 if you get the rapid test you’re less likely to test positive. The reason why I’m taking the PCR tests is because I’m supposed to have a procedure done. Had to push it back twice already. I’m 100% fine now but still having the VID show up on the tests.
Interesting! PCR = polymerase chain reaction. I imagine that even if you have a few fragments of the bug floating around in your blood, the PCR will greatly magnify this so that you still test positive. I wonder how common this is; it could turn out that PCR tests will remain positive the rest of your life - we will have to see as more and more people have the PCRs done at long periods after. Viruses sometimes insert themselves into your DNA, meaning you reproduce them; we have viruses in our DNA which have been there for hundreds of years. For some reason they no longer cause disease.
Thank you so much for sharing your personal story with us. So far I'm well but I'm keeping an eye on my adult daughter. We will most likely do testing soon. I hope you and your husband recover fully very soon. Hi from Connecticut ;)
Even asymptomatics can have lung and heart damage. Thailand recommends wide range health screenings for everyone ever infected, including asymptomatics.
Yes, I forgot about losing taste and smell, except for a rancid odor when breathing in through nose. People who haven’t had it should be thankful and careful, not being flip about it. Sometimes people have it without knowing and can spread it without knowing. I was a. Nurse, before I became disabled wth auto-immune conditions and spinal issues. I have asthma, bronchial issues. And COPD. It could have been much worse for me, and still ended up with pneumonia later.
I am glad to hear that it wasn't worse for you. I'm sure it was scary going in, especially given your underlying conditions. I hope you are feeling much better now!
It’s so good that given your underlying conditions, it did not amount to much worse. I hope you get to use your nursing background again. Nurses are extremely valuable anytime, anywhere. I have asthma and since Covid started have been suffering from anxiety, so getting Covid19 downright terrifies me. I feel I wouldn’t make it. But then I read your post and it gives me hope that maybe I’d survive it if I were to get it. I’m protecting myself from others and praying I don’t. God bless you and may you recover quickly.
I was planning the same thing about quarantine. I have been looking everywhere for a video like yours and days of symptoms. I wrote down all my symptoms and days but too shy to post for peace of mind for other people, but thank you for sharing.
Your a very mature young lady . I think that you explained it so well . Why it is a so important because people's outcomes can be so different also the intensive care hospital beds are filling up right now all over and in Massachusetts the North East part of the state the intensive care is at 100 percent capacity , other states are the same way . I hope you get better soon and your follow up test comes back negative .
I'm 59 and my covid experience was miserable, but still what would be considered mild. First of all, it was unrelenting for 14 days. Every day I woke up I still felt feverish and sick, though I never really registered a fever. I felt so weak and tired, but couldn't sleep because of back pain and my nerves felt on fire, until dr. prescribed something to relax me. Never lost taste or smell. My daughter did lose taste and smell for about 4 days. Congestion mostly in my nose, feeling like I couldn't breathe through my nose. And all of this was after having monoclonal antibodies, because I have underlying conditions. Here's something I felt really helped: my daughter soaked a washrag with peppermint essential oil and hung it over a bar while I showered every night. Breathing that really made me feel better. I would have diffused it, but I know that's bad for dogs, and I have a dog. I prayed my way through, marking the days, breathing into a spirometer every hour to keep my lungs in shape. I thank the Lord Jesus He brought me through. So while the symptoms were mild in a sense, it was a nasty sickness that hung on stubbornly longer than any cold I've ever had, though I've had worse colds, but they would always clear up within 5 days or so. A funny thing is, I eat oatmeal every morning. Well, when I got covid, I wanted nothing to do with oatmeal. I lived on food that people dropped off, often eating meatloaf or Panera soup for breakfast. I seemed to crave meat.
When I say marking the days, the scary thing is they say the second week can be worse. So when I made it to day 11 and still alive, and no worse, I had hope that I wouldn't die.
You’re young and probably in fairly good health it seems so hopefully it isn’t as bad for you . I myself have a lot of underlying issues so I most likely won’t be as well as you . Thank you for sharing this with us sweetie .
My friends are 25 and does not have any preexisting conditions she is extremely athletic and she has pneumonia & got turned away from the hospital because they have no beds available
My cousin 26, no pre existing conditions, was in the hospital for 6 weeks with it. Don’t remember how long she was on a ventilator? I realize that “most” people do well but a lot don’t. The hospitals in our area are full. Worries me because other medical emergencies won’t be able to be taken care of.
Thanks for the video, the COVID dream was hilarious! So glad your symptoms are mild & thanks for the PSA because it's a death sentence for some folks! It's raging in my county here in Ohio! UGH! Looking forward to the next video when hopefully you get your sense of taste back!
I hope your ok. I really appreciate you doing this and am enjoying ur sense of humor!! I hope u keep posting. I jst tried to find u on tiktok but I can’t find ya lol. I really hope your doing ok!!!
This is my second round of it. I had it in April/May. Lasted 6 weeks and then I had Long Covid for another 5 months. That particular time my symptoms were very lung based: chest pain, severe breathlessness. This time quite different. Almost identical to everything you described. The lack of taste is just the weirdest thing isnt it!! Glad you're feeling better. I'm on day 8 and still pretty washed out.
Thanks for all the info. I am glad you guys are doing okay. I have high risk family members, so we are doing everything possible to avoid getting it. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Your doggies are sooo cute and sweet!!!! This vlog has made me feel so much better (mentally) about my covid diagnosis. Please consider doing more vlogs because your voice and attitude is so chill and calming to me!
And I knew you looked so familiar but didn’t see any past videos on your channel, looked it up I’m already subscribed to your Poshmark reselling channel!!!
We are trying so hard to not get the virus because my husband has serious health issues and I have lupus and COPD...so we are being very careful. I have had several friends die from this virus, it is real! It is so sad to me. Your home is so pretty on a positive note! I love this channel!
Hi Michelle! Yes, it has definitely been an interesting year! Hopefully 2021 is interesting but with positive things happening. :) I hope you've been doing well!
Thank you for sharing & explaining how Covid is effecting you. I’m so glad you are having only mild symptoms & glad you emphasized that Covid is affecting other people severely. I hope you get well soon.
Hi Amber, I'm soooo glad that you and your husband are doing well comparatively speaking ... hopefully you get your taste back soon and you both get back to 100% shortly! :) My prediction is that your channel will grow exponentially just because of your warm and down to earth personality. As for those people who scoff at the "fake" virus ... there's a lot of ignorance in the world and the problem is a lot of them influence others. Imagine telling a relative of one of the almost 300 THOUSAND people who have DIED in your country (I'm Canadian) "what's the big fuss?" Keep on keeping on girl .... I wish you and your husband all the best going forward with life and I predict your channel will top 2,000 subs by Christmas! (just subscribed)
I had all your same symptoms Fatigue and body aches were the worst. I slept for almost an entire week averaging 12-14 hours per day. Steroids made the the real difference for me except I didn’t start taking them until day 10. Thanks for your video. I just think people need to understand the symptoms can be different for everyone but most people will tell you....it’s not like any flu. It feels much worse for much longer.
I know I a young healthy person with no underlying conditions whatsoever who took 3 months to recover and felt like they were dying for the first month. Yikes!
The Great British Baking Show would put me to sleep LOL. I just got tested positive, I work in a group home all clients and most of the staff have also tested positive!
Amber Alpine Thanks for the video ,i got covid too last week and your video really helps to know whats going on when we actually got this disease.Well done
I'm on day 10 and my O2 is stuck at 87. Hospital sent me home with inhaler but fever 103 and I cannot breath. I can barely walk to bathroom. I'm 40 and was healthy, hiking 4 days a week at 10 miles a hike.
As a nurse, I am so glad you addressed the issue of ease of transmission & the variances of effects on people. I will reiterate the stance on the drain on our healthcare resources. Nurses are being told to focus on "the ones we can save". This disease is no joke & this comes from a veteran nurse with 40 yrs experience. If you think you might have covid, then you probably do. Due to the high transmission, it will likely superceded other flu out there. Wear masks, limit contacts, seek medical attention if your condition deteriorates & get the vaccine when available. This is about saving human lives..bottom line. Sorry about the rant Amber..lol
Thanks for the update and thanks for mentioning the hospitals. While it is true most people get through fine but more infections lead to more hospitalizations. Overwhelmed hospitals can not help all their patients and their workers are maxed out. We are asked to wear masks, socially distance, and avoid gathering together to help our hospitals cope with covid. Why do some people not get this?
Thank you for sharing your experience¡¡ Im up for the test today but I already have no sense of taste nor smell so im sure ill be positive, watching your videos made me feel a little more optimistic although like you say, it is not the same for everyone. Thanks again¡
Good video and thanks for sharing. I had a "Moderate" case of COVID last month. Started with Fever and stomach issues, little bit of sinus. Low grade fever lasted off and on, mostly on for 10 days with fatigue (extreme). Mild sinus issues, and a mild cough with some stuff coming up. A few days my chest felt a little funny but no real breathing issues. Worst part was the low grade fever, body aches (mild/moderate) and the fatigue. Only had slight reduction in taste and smell that lasted about a day and no headaches. Is odd how everyone's symptoms seem to vary to a degree.
Hi hun, just thought I would add im so great full your ok n yes it is dangerous my hubby lost a coworker. One of mine tested positive today and I was painting by him on weds. Last week, getting hit n cold chills today n no appetite, so praying I don't come down. 🙋♀️
Amber I am so sorry you got Covid. I know several who got it and it really does affect everyone differently. My niece got checked as a precaution because her son had it. She had no symptoms but was positive. My best friend had an ear ache and they tested her and it was positive. Another acquaintance sadly passed away from it. It's a scary virus! I am glad you and Jacob didn't get a bad case of it.
It is unfortunate how it affects everyone so differently as it makes it more difficult to identify. I'm sorry to hear about the acquaintance. I hope you are able to avoid it!
@@MrsRobinson0741 I agree with you 100%! It’s a shame that Americans can’t do a few simple things, mask up & stay home 😢

Just don’t be anxious cause that just makes it all worse that’s why allot of people get severe covid because they are really anxious..
@@freespirit4941 im on day 11...Thanks. I always try to calm myself from worrying soo much
I honestly do not understand why people think its no big deal just because some people are not having severe symptoms... we need to pray for recovery of all with covid, and pray for those who think its no big deal..🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
That because they’re selfish and don’t care about others.

Absolutely. Some of us end up dying from it.😢

Hi. I have covid now. I'm so glad to find your videos. Its helping me so much to deal with this. Today I'm feeling good.

Tu for sharing your journey. People need to realize that the amount of virus you intake matters. Each persons immune system is different & handles viruses differently too. Age & overall health matter. Keep getting better. God bless!
nice video and you handled a touchy subject very well. thanks for your covid story
Thanks for subscribing!
Thank you for not downplaying the possible severity. Lots of times folks may be totally unaware that they have an underlying issue like diabetes and Covid can come along and knock a seemingly healthy person on their ass.
If you have diabetes you aren’t a “healthy person”
Hi Amber-Im so glad I came across your videos. Ive been lucky so far and havent gotten Covid until now. I started having symptoms on Wed, home test was neg put rapid test at the pharmacy was Positive. My worst symptoms have been a high fever and cough. Your videos give me insight to what I can expect. Hope you and your family are still healthy and doing great!
Thank you for sharing these! SO many of the UA-cam videos are just click bait, thank you for the realistic, detailed but not dramatized (the number of thumbnails with some lady smiling with an at-home “breathing treatment” was astounding 🙄)
I am on day 5 of symptoms, tested positive on day 1 so far they have been mild for me as well (30 and otherwise healthy-ish).
Some people get their “news” from unreliable sources and are brainwashed into thinking stupid things.

Thank you for your hard work As a nurse 🙏 God bless
Thank you for also clarifying that NOT everyone’s symptoms are as mild. This virus spreads really quick and before you even realize you have it.
Thank you for caring about other people and staying home. I wish everyone was like you!🙏🏻🤗

I am feeling back to normal! I hope you feel back to normal quickly!
There is no way I could do this. I slept literally 18 hours a day by day 7
Wow! The fourth and fifth days I was struggling to stay awake. Are you feeling 100% back to normal now?
I test positive today last fri I slept from 6pm to 6am body was hurting so bad face swollen and chills this is day 6 I have runny nose and diarrhea other than that I’m up moving around in the house
I’m glad I came across this as it was very informative. Where I live (England) right now it’s the Omicron strain that’s mostly doing the rounds and I’m on day 7 of Covid and have the symptoms for omicron but the symptoms I have are exactly just like you had except I haven’t lost my sense of smell or taste. Just feeling really wiped out and tired with a sore throat and stuffy

It made me giggle, and that’s not easy!☺️
Thank you so much I'm on day 3 with mild symptoms so far I am 45 with pre existing conditions so fingers crossed
You are not alone! Stay strong! Currently on day 3 or 4 and I'm hoping I'm over the hump! I just read your comment and needed to tell you that I care!

When did you get back your sense of smell?
It’s been one month since going through COVID sickness. No more symptoms today but still testing positive via PCR test. 1 MONTH...still testing positive.
Omgosh! My sun tested positive and is not getting paid to be off work. He has to test negative b4 he can return to work. If he continues to test positive with no symptoms this will make him bankrupt! @@tweety5331 if you get the rapid test you’re less likely to test positive. The reason why I’m taking the PCR tests is because I’m supposed to have a procedure done. Had to push it back twice already. I’m 100% fine now but still having the VID show up on the tests.
@@toothzombie my sons job won't allow the rapid tests due to their inaccuracies. It has to be the PCR only.

Depends on who you are i know folks with health issues that got through it better than a healthy person
Thank you for sharing your experience... very helpful
I hope she gets better
I’m about to start day 8. Breathing getting a little bit harder for me.
Praying for you. Stay strong.
Did you consider Trying and get meds that help oxygen levels in your blood
How do you feel now? Day 6 for me with symptoms
I hope you’ve fully recovered!!!
Thanks for the video, the COVID dream was hilarious! So glad your symptoms are mild & thanks for the PSA because it's a death sentence for some folks! It's raging in my county here in Ohio! UGH! Looking forward to the next video when hopefully you get your sense of taste back!
Hey Tim! Welcome to my new channel! I'm so glad you enjoyed the dream; I almost didn't include it. Fingers crossed that my taste comes back soon!
I hope your ok. I really appreciate you doing this and am enjoying ur sense of humor!! I hope u keep posting. I jst tried to find u on tiktok but I can’t find ya lol. I really hope your doing ok!!!
Around Thanksgiving, I had the same timeline first 7 days. Taste came back on Day 12.
I’m finishing day 7. Still have a cough and sore lungs.
I'm on day 8 and still pretty washed out.
did your smell come back?
@@nikkilee7778 Hi Nikki. Yes. The taste came back first and then gradually the smell. It took about a month.
I’m so sorry! I hope you feel much better now
I am wondering, do you go on walks and stuff even with the Covid? Did Dr tell you to wear some special mask or no walks etc?
My Dr said walking and fresh air is good for you. Regular mask, just stay away from other people.
@@PassionGrows 👌 Just wondering, I know someone who was exposed and she is having a hard time. She feels guilty like everyone else says. It's sad.
You’ve had such an interesting year with school/tests, wedding venue/wedding, Posh & now this. Glad your symptoms weren’t worse.
Hi Michelle! Yes, it has definitely been an interesting year! Hopefully 2021 is interesting but with positive things happening. :) I hope you've been doing well!
Thank you Amber for sharing Jacob and your experiences. Feel better soon.
How about the dogs? No masks and breathing close up on the dogs 🐶 😞
I had all your same symptoms
Fatigue and body aches were the worst.
Hope you get well soon Amber. God blessing
I know I a young healthy person with no underlying conditions whatsoever who took 3 months to recover and felt like they were dying for the first month. Yikes!
I am glad to hear they have recovered!
Very scary!
I'm 40 and was healthy, hiking 4 days a week at 10 miles a hike.
i am on 7 days, the cough is too much which is making me worried
How are you snow? Can you please update us on your symptoms? How long before u got ur taste and smell back, when did congestion go away etc? Thank you
As a nurse, I am so glad you addressed the issue of ease of transmission & the variances of effects on people.
Thanks for your experience with C19
Thanks for the update and thanks for mentioning the hospitals. While it is true most people get through fine but more infections lead to more hospitalizations. Overwhelmed hospitals can not help all their patients and their workers are maxed out. We are asked to wear masks, socially distance, and avoid gathering together to help our hospitals cope with covid. Why do some people not get this?
Thank you so much for sharing this video with us. We all have to be aware. Be safe everyone and mask up
Thank you for sharing your experience¡¡ Im up for the test today but I already have no sense of taste nor smell so im sure ill be positive, watching your videos made me feel a little more optimistic although like you say, it is not the same for everyone.
Describe your stomach issues. My stomach is distending out and is painfully bloated. Gassy. All my symptoms are similar to yours and I’m on day 4...
@@rockysgirl1986 Pretty much the same, didn't last more than a day. Hope you are feeling better.
Wow you sure do have a good video presences! Hope you and your hubby get well soon! Thank you!
Are you taking D3 and K2? Glad to hear you are doing well
Hi hun, just thought I would add im so great full your ok n yes it is dangerous my hubby lost a coworker. One of mine tested positive today and I was painting by him on weds. Last week, getting hit n cold chills today n no appetite, so praying I don't come down. 🙋♀️
Did you mention if you got the vaccination?
Amber I am so sorry you got Covid. I know several who got it and it really does affect everyone differently. My niece got checked as a precaution because her son had it. She had no symptoms but was positive. My best friend had an ear ache and they tested her and it was positive. Another acquaintance sadly passed away from it. It's a scary virus! I am glad you and Jacob didn't get a bad case of it.
It is unfortunate how it affects everyone so differently as it makes it more difficult to identify. I'm sorry to hear about the acquaintance. I hope you are able to avoid it!
Zinc helps get your taste and smell back
