Stu. First of all.... You do beautiful work !! Very nice indeed. I am a32 year mason from Nova Scotia Canada. I've been fortunate enough during my career to have seen some very nice work done by local masons but you, good sir, do some really, really nice work !! So cheers to you and thank you. Good to see a real professional do justice to our craft. Respect.
This never gets old, watching a skilled mason is like watching Bob Ross paint. It's all fun and games until the foreman yells at me for standing a round instead of putting bmu's in the wall.
So many chancers in bricklaying. Great to see you gentleman take responsibility and real pride in delivery genuine high end bricklayer work. Which at your level. Is An Art Form to marvel at.
It's funny that when your at college doing your apprenticeship, your always told never to hit the level with the handle of the trowel to straighten\level the bricks, but every bricklayer does it 😉. Btw nice job 👍
Hello friend I am Brazilian I have curiosities to know this dough that you use to make the brick masonry what dough is this that you use. And congratulations your work is excellent.
Hi Stu could you possible do a video of how you set out the bond on top of the pier please? Cheers Martyn - Apologies if you already have thanks again.
Hi Stu, nice job again mate. Is that a W.Rose trowel? If so what's your verdict on them as I'm thinking of going for another MT. I tried the Ox but it's a little too rigid and heavy.
I am learning about bricklaying, why don't you put mortar between the two skins? Would you do it differently if it was a wall that was retaining more soil and put mortar between the skins?
@@Stucrompton1 Stuart you would be my builder no danger true professional Not many around I would definitely recommend 👌 u Stuart Not forgetting KC both legends 😀
Excellent job, not that you need telling, do you cut all the brick for the pier on site? Makes me want too pick up a trowel 🤘(joiner by trade, from a family of brick layers though)
Hi i would like to ask some technical questions -what’s the dimensions of the brick(length width hight)? -what are the ingredients of the sticky material used between the bricks ? thank you
not quite sure hat you mean david but cheers mate. do you mean build pier first? i wanted to finishe the job on the pier so thats why. i left it to last.

I’m a carpenter in Australia but watching you makes me want to be a bricklayer. Your skills are next level!
Excellent Stu , Pier capping become one of your many decorative trade marks. Whole wall looks bangin.
This doesn't even look like masonry anymore - it looks like art. How does a person even cut a curve in a brick!?! This is next-level work.
Masonry is art. Most forms of labor is art

Why do you guys use different types of bricks/blocks on the same wall? Why using both traditional bricks along with those cinder blocks?
Stunning
Do you get those brick designs ready cut or do you cut them yourself? They look really well.
Cut them myself.

Standard brick size in uk roughly 65x100x 215 but can vary depending on brick
Usual mortar mix in uk 4 sand to one part cement
