Peacemaker uses a modified Desert Eagle Mark XIX pistol that is chambered in .50 AE. After Peacemaker was supposedly killed by Bloodsport he was shown still alive in Amanda Waller's detonator briefcase.

For anyone surprised that Peacemaker survived a shot to the throat, George Orwell survived a rifle bullet to the throat back during the Spanish Civil War (ie, during the thirties when medical care was a lot less advanced). It's quite possible.
Yes, but the amount of blood coming out of Peacemaker would indicated the artery is hit. Given the location, that would be the carotid artery. That's normally a death sentence within a couple minutes.

Honestly these are some of the best cg bullets I've ever seen. Especially with the muzzle flashes, they absolutely nailed them in a way I almost never see.

This scene hit so hard back at the cinema. The unwanted anti hero makes the accidental entrance right on the jackpot and gets his morals right on check because of the little kid.
That and their slick rivalry tottaly amplified this stand off. Truly beautifully executed Gunn ❤️

This is where he goes from Anti-Villain to Anti-Hero
One happy coincidence on top of another happy coincidence on top of another happy coincidence. This moment wasn't earned nor it was logical in any way. Screenwriter just wanted his paycheck and the movie director didn't bother to fix anything. If this kind of writing pleases you, then I suggest you watch some real good movies to learn the difference.
@@Zhabishe Thanks, Ed Wood, It's called a Deus ex machina moment, something that'll occasionally happen in "real good movies" like, for example, Superman 78, Jurassic Park, Slumdog Millionaire, or, maybe if you haven't heard of it yet, I recommend LOTR, Return of The King.
So yeah, it's not a great deal of a shocker in a project like a comic book movie, which are definitely not meant to be taken unnecessarily serious
It should also be pointed out that Peacemaker uses hollowpoints, which are designed to fragment inside the body and do more damage with shrapnel. Brutal and deadly, just like him. But that’s just it-they’re designed to break. Bloodsport’s bullet beat Peacemaker’s not only because it was smaller, but because Peacemaker went out of his way to be that much more brutal just for the fun of it while Bloodsport was more understated and efficient.
Hollowpoints (especially bonded ones) expand. They only produce few, small fragments, if any.
Oh ... and it's just a movie.
There was a scene in Deadpool 2 when Wade said "good thing I didn't use the hollow points" and then negasonic looked at him like he was nuts.
I never got that bc I had no idea what hollow points were and due to my limited knowledge I thought a hollow point bullet was a type of ammo that had been hollowed out and could therefore fly so much faster resulting in a bigger impact
But now I understand.

This movie’s peacemaker and the hbo max show peacemaker are polar opposites but at the same time, that’s character development. The movie showcased his ruthless aggression, while the show showed us a peacemaker with a attitude adjustment who is struggling between if he wants to be a face or a heel.

@@nasgool Probably because of a few reasons: the bullet had to go through both another bullet, a gun, and Peace Maker has plot armour that saved him from both the bullet and a building.
For everyone thinking PM got shot in the throat. What happened was Bloodsport aimed for the barrel of PM’s Deagle. I’m guessing the 4.6 x 30mm or 5.7 x 28mm completely destroyed the bolt in deagle and when the gun exploded, piece(s) of the slide or bolt pierced PM’s throat.
The trajectory of Bloodsport's projectile was altered by hitting and destroying PM's. Not sure what they each were aiming at but I'd call that a lucky shot.
@@mightisright I’ll have to watch it again but if that’s what happened then there’s no way he could survive that. Looking at where it hit, looks like it went into his jugular vein and Carotid artery. I can see how if the Deagle’s bolt exploded from the bullet and launched jagged metal in his neck it could stop the bleeding if left in which turns out he survives in the end
@@ramboitaliano1776he could have survived for a couple seconds, the bullet ricochet from hitting his gun and would get stuck in his jugular, the injury is lethal but the bullet could give a few seconds before bleeding out

I like how bloodsport didn't even ask whats going on, he just saw peacemaker pointing a gun at ratcatcher and realized its on SIGHT

Actually it's not about bullet's size, but it's kinetic energy and what it's made of
Brass/ copper alloy hollow point vs whatever that bullet was.
It's still about the bullet size smart guy, smaller bullets = higher velocity and better penetration
Same size bullet with similar speed but different materials would probably result in deflection, just guessing tho.

This was one of the most badass scenes in a superhero movie ever. Great twist, great characters, and a moment of relief when Bloodsport comes in and saves another character
I love how peacemaker said "how", as if he knew that both bullets intersected perfectly and his happened to be bigger
I like how they don't even exchange words. They just look at eachother and immidietly realize that only one of them walks outta that building alive.

I fucking love this scene. He doesn't need context, he sees the scene, he takes the shot. Doesn't need to be friends or foe with the person holding the gun to Ratcatcher, would have taken the shot just the same.
This was my favorite part of the movie. his entrance and look Bloodsport gives him after he sees him pointing the gun at Ratcatcher 2.
I really do love this version of peace maker. He really thinks what he is doing is making the world a better place. In a way maybe he is.

I wont argue with you, All I'll say is gray areas... the second half of the movie was full of them. If you were able to see the bigger picture then you would realise PM was logically doing the right thing whereas Rick Flag got emotional and wasn't thinking straight

I freaked the heck out when this scene played in the theatre. The build up with him coming down layer by layer and making that badass unintended entrance was just too much for me and I couldnt help but let out an "OOOOOH!!" when he bust in through that ceiling.
You can see bloodsport facial expressions change from confuse to serious when he saw what is going on

Such a powerful scene. From blood shots entrance, to pace makers own strategy being used against him, all the way to the call back bloodstain made to rat race on the bus. So powerful 😢

This movie really made me like Bloodsport. I didn’t even know who he was until this movie’s trailer teaser was released. Gunn really outdid himself taking this minor Superman villain and turning him into a really cool character. He’s got such a nice suit and creative ability to pull weapons off of it, which is something Ive never seen in any other movies
If DC ever uses Bloodsport again in future films/ shows, they need to integrate his teleporting device on his suit. This guy's enemy is Superman so he needs all the firepower he needs within a blink of an eye.

It's pretty obvious how Gunn planned for Peacemaker to die before changing his mind and giving him his own series. There's no possible way even by DCEU standards that Peacemaker could survive that. Not only because he was shot in an area of the throat that would kill a normal person in minutes, but also the overkill of the entire fortress collapsing on his body. They never show a scene of his body somehow making it out before he collapses.
Isn't there a post credit scene of him in the hospital
