  • Welcome to Nelson Soapery.
Today i had to get to work on making my lip scrubs, our lip scrubs help with dry lips and to plump your lips up again but also leave them feeling soft and gorgeous.
You ask how we can do this, its simply really, the standard and most often used recipe is sugar and a liquid oil but we have a totally different formulation that we have created, tested and love and we are happy to share this with you.
    Want to buy from us:
    nelsonsoapery....
    Recipe:
    9 tablespoons of organic sugar
3 tablespoons of jojoba oil (you can also use avocado oil or sweet almond or similar)
1 table spoon ethically sourced and certified shea butter
    1/4 tablespoon cocoa butter
1/8 teaspoon or so of lip safe cosmetic grade mica
Heat the hard oils and then mix in the rest of the ingredients with a spoon until moistened, then place into glass tubs that have been sanitised.
    Suppliers we use:

Hi Rhonda, this looks a great recipe for lip sugar scrub, which I would love to try. I see a couple of people have asked for the recipe in grams, which I would also like to see. I've just come across your channel and find it very informative, it's very generous of you to share your lovely recipes.

Your labels look great and yes better with out a label on top. Question, do you wash your jars first before sensitizing? Thank you 😀

Yes I just give them a rinse and then sanitise them.

Hi Rhonda, Did you add anything different to the second batch? it looks wetter than the first part of the video. I'm hoping to try this out today :)

    • @NelsonInteriorSoapery

No. But if it looks to wet you can easily add more sugar. It’s one of those things as sometimes you might find you like a thicker or thinner consistency

Which Shea butter is better ??
Refined or organic for one for lip scrubs ?
Which one should I use ?

Hello welcome. From India wow thank you for watching.
I like unrefined Shea as it’s creamy and just beautiful to use.. I use certified Shea from delux Shea and they sell everywhere as it’s a great product from Guyana.

Hi Rhonda, what is the shelf life of this lip scrub? Is preservative necessary? Thank you I’m just learning .

    • @NelsonInteriorSoapery
      @NelsonInteriorSoapery  2 роки тому +1

You don’t need preservative as there is no water and that’s why I do a oil base recipe.
Oil base with be fine in 12 plus months but I usually say 12 months
