This is the first time I’ve seen David struggling to express himself and put his thoughts together and I strongly believe that no that he doesn’t know what to say but he’s been conscious to not open cans of worms of things he’s bottled up for so long. I hope he truly gets to express his emotions freely

I’ve worked with a LOT of men as an assistant over many years, it’s very common for them not to speak up much especially around women. We can tend to respond and not listen also over talk them and make assumptions, we also have more words than they do. I’ve noticed they will calculate everything to avoid landmines. It has to be an EXTREMELY safe space for him to speak not sure if on camera will be it for him. Not to mention the impact of what’s really on his heart.

Definitely was a hot seat in a great healthy way… soo good!! Sometimes we don’t know why we do things or think a certain way until someone challenges us to really think about our thought process… this was good!!

If he felt safe he would have expressed himself. I’ve found there’s little consideration or curiosity for our experience thus at times we resort to doing what we need to do to survive.

38:46 The military parent example was not my experience; it was quite the opposite for me.
We were military kids and as i got older, i held on to people longer than i should have, all because we grew up moving around a lot and I wanted to have my “core group of life long friends”.
Some of the people who weren’t military kids ended up being the ones to easily cut off relationships.

I love Dr. spirit. I do feel the young lady was kind of deflecting on David. They both need therapy. I think because she is better at explaining her emotions it seems she is more composed and has less issues. Dr. Spirit recognized it immediately. I am the young lady so I saw myself in her. So busy fixing others emotions that I have neglected myself. Her responses gives off the attachment of fearful avoidant!
