I hope this kid is actually like this behind the scenes, and not just because the camera is rolling. One of the things I have seen with lots of super-gifted wrestlers, is that they think they are above, and talk shit about other less talented wrestlers.

Yeah, I think you're right. I was just going off an interview that he gave about making 125, but as i watched the interview I was thinking, " aint no way this guy is making 125, unless he wants to kill himself."
This should remind people of the match where Retherford beat Steiber. Since his last matches against Steiber, how many college matches has Retherford lost? He had one SV match where he apparently had the flu and nothing close other than that - ...well, notwithstanding the ok-state match where they were telling him he couldn't ride the OSU wrestler (which was completely bizarre - he only won that match in a close decision...terrible ref). And Lee is more accomplished coming in than Retherford was.

If you watch Lee, as a Junior, prior to knee injury, compared to his Senior year, post knee injury, he was just OFF...when one of your wheels are busted, it kills your drive in on shots and leg ties on rides...I believe THAT was the entire difference between the two final appearances against DeSanto...but, that being said...THAT kid has REALLY picked it up!! I saw him drill that kid from Michigan recently, and that Michigan wrestler is GOOD.. But I just want Spencer's knee healthy..period. Tomessello missed wrestling Nick Suriano just a week or 2 before. He would have been in a dogfight in that match too!!
I watched this young man on UA-cam and he is a class act! I enjoy watching his sportsmanship before and after his match. Well done.

It was the natural choice. No takedowns in the first. Choice deferred to him, Lee has choice in the 3rd. He thought he could get away.
