We are both poked to stay there in April. So many reviews say there is a sewer smell. I am a boater from Long Island. I can deal with musty smell to an extent. But reading about clogged sinks, leaky shower heads, dirty rooms, stained linens and towels I don’t think should be listed as - good for the value-. Did they know you were a travel agent reviewing the room and give you the nicest they had? There is a lot I can overlook from the reviews, however I’d like to not get sick from the food, or sick from the room smell. I loved your videos as you cannot get a good view from the pictures alone. Thank you so much.😊
This video confirms my worries. I had a lot of bad reviews of the rooms.
I enjoyed the room for the value. The resort isn't as luxurious as Secrets or Dreams but it also is quite a bit more budget friendly. It all depends on budget and whats important to you.

Thanks for the review! Are there any differences between garden View , courtyard view, or ocean view in your opinion? We read some reviews saying that the rooms are outdated and worn out? We're still debating whether to stay here or planet Hollywood for our stay in Costa Rica. Thank you!
I stayed in an Ocean View. and did not experience the others. I wouldn’t say they are outdated. The decor at Riu Palace resorts is a little different. It kind of has an 80s feel which is typical. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the review! Can you tell anything about food room service? Have you used it? I have visited Barcelo resort in Dominican Republic recently, and room service was for additional fee. Not cheap
One of the things we believe on is honesty. That said, room service sucked. Closed early other than cold foods it’s free but not great.

Looks alot like the rooms at the Riu Blanca in Panama.
Many Riu properties are similar. Would like to get to a Panama one of these days!

Hi. Thanks for watching. No they did not know that I was doing any sort of review, I did not get the best room by far. I am picky and didn’t have any of the issues I have read about and neither did anyone in my group. Costa Rica is very expensive. Personally I prefer Secrets but it was out of budget for most of us. It’s a good resort for the value.
