"He should have mentioned it earlier" Well, BArton is "only" a SHIELD agent, there were world class scientists working on the Tesseract, and he is the only one noticing that the Tesseract is a doorway. It was not his job, they should have found out on their own. A lot of people underestimate Hawkeye and call him the weakest and most useless Avenger, but I beg to differ. He almost brought down the Helicarrier down on his own and one other thing Barton never misses, him missing Hill and shooting Fury in the chest shows that a little bit of him is still there despite the brainwashing, otherwise he would have shot Hill point blank and had given Fury a bullet to the head instead of the chest. He knew that Fury wore a Kevlar vest.

Loki wasn't controlling the doctor before his arrival. The Dr Selvig was working on the cube, yes, but only because Shield allowed it, and he was interested in it. almost everything written by Joss Whedon back in the day was golden. He wrote most of Firefly, Buffy (which was so full of snark and new slang there were classes on it, and quite a bit of what we take for granted now as just common language was invented on that show. really excellent show, btw), and angel (buffyverse but much darker). he knew how to write dialogue that entertained. understatement, i know.

Steve is the First Avenger not in the sense that he's the first to join the Avengers Initiative (that's arguably Nat), or the first to work for SHIELD (that's Clint), or even the first to exist (that's Thor), but in the sense that he is the first to defend Earth from what would later be termed "an Avengers-level threat." He was defending Earth from Red Skull and his tesseract technology before Thor came to Earth and before the others were born. That's what makes him the first.

There is no disjointment when it comes to the Hulk movie. The only hiccup is the character recasting but other than that, everything is chronistically cohesive. Stark in the Hulk post-credits scene is a consultant for Nick Fury, just like they discussed at the end of Iron Man 2. The events of Hulk, Iron Man 2, and Thor occur roughly concurrently with each other.

Vibranium absorbs any type of kinetic energy and has the potential to reflect it back. Hence the explosion from Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, striking Caps shield. 😅
