*THE SNAP WAS THE BEST SCENE IMO IN CINEMA HISTORY! CHANGE MY MIND…*
"No, I am your father." Is up there , if not the top.
*for me
the reason why Rocket doesn't react negatively to Thor calling him rabbit, is because Thor's intentions aren't malicious or derogatory with that name. that is also why Rocket gets along so well with him, because Thor treats him as an equal, and with friendly respect.
@@mojoriot2293 "it is too late for me my son"
But yeah Infiinty war in Imax was nuts
@@professorfish4586 It was great, but I also loved the Portals scene in Endgame.
5 years later and this film still hits hard
I got all misty just listening to "Mr. Stark. I don't feel so good...". I didnt even have this tab up.
I see what you did there...
ikr, it will never be forgotten, best movie ever, 2nd is Endgame, or tbh both is on my first. Maybe Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars is the only movie/s that might just take the first place
I wish people should have watched them 5 years ago.
5 years ago 😳😳 this is also my first time watching it and I’ve watched the others
I love that the end of the credits says "Thanos will return". He really was the star of this movie in a way after all.
If you look at it from his perspective, he was the movie's hero and overcame all the odds to win in the end. Incredible anti-hero movie.
@@David-ru8tcWas prepared to sacrifice anything to achieve his goal to make the universe a happier place
Thanos is more anti-villain than anti-hero...
He was certainly the Protagonist, with the Avengers being the antagonists. The protagonist isn't always a Good Guy!
Watching this in the theater that was such a “BOOOO” moment lol
That and Thanos will return… got a lot of “F*ck you!” kind of responses haha
It really took me to near the end of the movie to realize that yea, in the comic version - the Infinity War saga did end with Thanos winning and snapping his fingers. Afterwards it was up to everyone left to try and stop him/bring back the lost hero’s.
The theater was so unbelievably quiet during the credits. Everyone filed out, having to come to terms with Endgame being a whole year away and wondering how the hell it would end up. As bleak and sad as it was, this is peak MCU. They packed so many different characters in this movie and it didn't feel bloated and everyone still had their moment(s).
yep, same in our theater. It maybe the most incredible and powerful ending of any movie ever.
@@woidonmiguel1No maybe about it 💀
The absolute stunned silence in my theater from the moment Tony got stabbed all the way up until the end of the credits was deafening, if that makes sense. The room was so quiet my ears started ringing and, like everyone else, I was stuck there gathering my popcorn bucket and empty cup while my thoughts were bouncing all over the place
EDIT: in other words the silence spoke for itself, the fact that no one knew what to say or how to react said it all for how well the Russo brothers put this film together
I have never experienced anyone in theater as quiet as at the time when people started turning in to dust....what a film!
I went by myself and found myself crying with three strangers beside me… this movie was epic
I love how Part 1 ended with Rob asking if this movie was going to have any good news. And then Thanos felt sad and tossed his daughter off a cliff, Iron Man got impaled, Vision died TWICE, and a good chunk of the cast got wiped away as Thanos sits down and has a nice relaxing day in the sun. So I guess Thanos has a nice ending. Considering his screentime and the amount that we follow him, a lot of people consider him to be the Protagonist of Infinity War. And he did what he said he would do. Half of all life. Gone with a snap of his fingers.
Literally though as he said it "no, it gets worse"
Not just a lot of people. The entire story structure is centered around him. It's almost like his own Hero's Journey.
Love it how we are left mostly with our original cast of avengers again , and tbf most of the strongest characters are gone
Yeah, I actually made a ‘oop’ noise when he said that🤣
Society 2023 and Thanos was right all along
I remember being in the theater how quiet it was at the end of the movie. It felt like being at a funeral. Nobody moved or said anything. We were all in shock. This movie was a masterpiece!
The young people in my packed theater were openly crying. It was amazing.
Exactly man 😆 if it wasn't for the credit rolling I don't think we would've heard a single sound
My wife saw this in the theater by herself in 18.. I was not a big fan at the time.. She came home from a hair day, told me quill F'd up big time.. I pressed on and she's like.. they're all dead.. "who?" I asked. ALL of them... Later that year she passed, and since I rewatched them all and love them, hate that she didn't get to see the continuation of this and many things.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
I'm gutted for her.
The best part about the movie is that we didn’t expect Thanos to get all the stones. They hid it with the trailers.
Didn't they simply make it seem as if Thanos had little to no stones? Same footage, just with an empty gauntlet?
I knew it was going to end with half the universe destroyed from being familiar with the comics and seeing the commercials show the lines about snapping his fingers.
@@Jbluez1 you should know by now that the MCU does not follow the comics as well as some people want them too tho
@@PetrixxxxxxxThe snap was the whole point of Infinity Gauntlet, though. That was the beginning of the story.
if you knew anything you 100% knew he was going to get all the stones thats the only way it was going to ever play out. Not a fan of marvel if you didnt see that coming
Fun trivia: In ye olde viking days, the norse word for 'rabbit' was used as a general term for any small game animal, much like we would use the word 'varmint' today. Thor calling Rocket 'rabbit' is historically accurate! Whether this was an amazing coincidence or a screenwriter on the absolute top of their research game I don't know.
That's awesome!
Interesting, never knew that, that's actually quite a cool detail, I would imagine they knew, because in the first Avengers movie Loki referred to Black Widow as a mewling quim, which is style language for "moany cunt" basically, so yea, someone on staff knows their shit.
Oh super interesting!
@@lobodesade6780 Yeah, I was very surprised when they used that term as it is a very offensive word.
I always just thought that's what they call racoons. Like if the person who named a racoon, a rabbit, we would be calling that kind of animal, rabbit.
I will never forget this moment in cinema. The heros are the ones that always win, in this film though they lose. I will never forget the crowd's reaction to this, everyone sobbing and saying "what just happened". This is what everything was leading to and the culmination of 10 years of films, are for us to lose. Incredible movie!!
Your reaction takes me back to the first viewing of this in theaters. Leaving the cinema I was shocked and upset and in grief over so many characters, and it lasted a full week. And knowing the continuation will only be in a year or so... If it wasn't such a common experience to commiserate over with so many other fans it would have been unbearable
This is why I watch these reaction videos. To live through people watching it for the first time
Someone may have already told you this on your Patreon, but the Russo brothers revealed that when Groot is turning to dust and says "I am Groot," that time he says it it translates to him calling Rocket "dad" as he fades away, just in case you needed that to be more heartbreaking.
Ohhhh yeaaah damn 😢
That's why Marvel was so great. You had multiple characters, multiple movies, getting to know everyone, their individual stories, etc. If you kill Gamora, or Spider-Man just one film in, it doesn't work. You make us love the characters over all these films, then the weight of this film kicks in, hard. Well done Marvel.
I saw this twice at the cinema and the second time around there was a row of little kids in front of me. Watching them go from being happy that all their heroes were together, to crying and screaming when they all died was delicious.
Peter says he doesn’t feel good because of his Spidey-sense. He could sense what was about to happen while the others didn’t know until it was too late. Heartbreaking. Tony feels like he let his “son” down. Not his fault though. So tough
Sad fact: in the scene where spiderman vanished the reason that he was the last wasn't only to have an emotional scene but because his body was fighting it much more then the others and the line "i don't feel so good" was because his spider senses were aware of somthing is wrong.
Another sad fact
Groots final words talking to rocked before he got dusted was
Dad 😢
The thing about Thanos is, he doesn’t go around picking who gets wiped out/dusted, it’s 100% random so no matter if ur rich or poor, super successful or a complete failure, everyone has the exact same 50/50 chance of either living or being blipped.. imo the way they handled the Thanos/Gamora storyline/scenes was as perfect as u can get with humanizing a villain, after seeing how he is w her throughout the film and then on Vormir it helps the audience realize that he’s not just some cold, uncaring psychopath who wants to rule the world like most cardboard cutout “big bads”.. also the scene after the snap when young gamora asks him if he did it and what’d it cost? The way he says “yes” and even more so the “everything” just really drove home, at least for me, that he believed what he did was something that was necessary for the universe to be able to thrive in the future, otherwise he obviously wouldn’t have felt that he had no choice but to kill Gamora.. one of the best written bad guys in cinema history imo
35:23 "All those stones, you can't fix the resources? Reset all the resources with a click? Why does it have to be to wipe out all of the species and living things in the whole universe?"
And _that's_ why Thanos is the villain. His cause is good, and his intentions are good, but even with literally infinite power at his fingertips, he cannot think of a solution that doesn't involve death, even after decades of planning and plotting.
also, half the populace of the earth, congrats, earth now has the population it had in 1970, you have extended things by 50years, tops, and thats assuming it worked perfectly with no collatoral, no oops accidentally removed one sex from a species (perfectly random could happen) no critical loss of key population workers and so on
also also, if we deconstruct all the uninhabitable rocks and moons and shit in this solar system there's enough resources to build space habitats to hold Quadrillions of people for as long as the sun burns, Resources arnt the issue in the cosmos, access too and dsitribution is the problem
I dont think the resources can ever be enough for the human species
We just keep increasing n increasing in number
The richer get more than needed , and the poor get none
@@ankurvinodiya5628 all distribution and access problems in terms of physical quanitity there is bound in mercury venus and the belt enough to sustain at a reasonable standard of living a million earths worth of people, now having the will and effort to do it thats a whole different argument
That is a big reason I liked What If. A few different things happen, and he finds another way.
Seeing this in the theater opening weekend was an experience like no other. Everyone was completely silent at the end. Through 10 minutes of credits, waiting for the post-credits scene. Leaving the theater. All the way to the parking garage, I was surrounded by people who'd come out of the same theater as me, and no one said a word. We were all in shock, and honestly, that shock lasted for a few days. It was also one of the best kept secrets in movie history. Nobody wanted to ruin it for anyone else. Even those people who seem to take some sort of perverse pleasure in spoiling movies for other people kept their mouths shut. UA-camrs waited for months to make videos about it to make sure they didn't spoil it for anyone. It was such an amazing communal experience.
It's extremely rare for a movie to hit so powerfully. But building on a decade of hard work to get us involved and invested in these characters paid off. Because we all felt like we lost a family member. It was surreal the impact it had. People would just say "go see it. I can't tell you anything, go see it." It was crazy to see the UA-camrs even completely onboard with keeping this secret so everyone could experience that.
Idk about secret, Ruffalo spoiled the ending in an interview with Don Cheadle😂😂😂 it was super funny
@@nigelplumley8188 hahaha! True! But at least as far as the fans go, we kept it pretty well
@@rbrainsop1 for sure! Lol. I kept telling people "..just go see it" and that's all I'd say 😂
I will never forget sitting there and when everything was over and everyone was sitting in shocked silence, suddenly a boy around 12 year or so asked totally heartbroken "is Spider-man dead now?"
Redskull in this movie is played by the guy who plays Aaron in the walking dead
“We only haven’t seen Ant Man!”
Hawk Eye: 😶
Adored this reaction ❤ thank you both for embarking on this journey and allowing us to relive the excitement of a first watch again 🎉
~Trin, to be honest if Thanos didn't say "INSECT" I wouldn't have thought about Ant-Man 🙈

Just imagine being in a midnight screening, full, every single seat was filled. Everyone was screaming, crying, laughing together... We never got that ever again.... until the next Avengers.
Nothing will ever ever beat those two midnight screens
How to tell that Rob’s a Marvel convert: All throughout the post-discussion, Rob kept saying “we” like he’s embedded in the universe. Like it’s happened to him. He doesn’t even know that he’s referring to himself as an Avenger.
You’re not alone, buddy. Welcome to the club.
Imagine having to wait an entire year for the grand finale! Cannot wait for Endgame reaction.
My teenage boys were horrified when this movie ended. The oldest asked my ex and I if we'd ever seen anything like this, where the bad guy wins.
"Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back."
yeah. this was "The Empire Strikes Back" of the MCU
I had heard that Marvel was offering some sort of support to the fans for this Movie. My theater was stone quiet when the credits came. All you could hear were sniffles. Such a unique and collective experience.
Same here, people actually having lost something they had grown up on over 10 years, even in my 30s I was gutted.
ESB ends with a small hope though, with Luke and Leia staring off at the galaxy. IW's ending was just bleak
Its a good way to structure a trilogy.
If you watch them back to front, you have to think of the 2nd movie as the low point in the film, because it usually happens in the middle of the movie....aka the middle movie.
Josh Brolin was one of the best villians in Marvel. He makes you almost understand the reasons behind his quest. Think he may have had good intentions but pursued it the wrong way with the power he gained.
Try the best
They did a really great job of making Thanos a compelling, sympathetic character.
I love the fact, that every MARVEL character thinks, that they're doing somethig good. There are no "bad guys", just different opinions on what's good.
I've seen this movie so many times but it doesn't get easier. Seeing Peter and Groot and Black Panther go is still so hard.
Peter Parker turning to dust hurt the most for me😭 He fights crime and is in dangerous situations all the time but seeing him beg not to die just puts it into perspective that he’s just a kid. He’s a baby, only 16 I think in this movie, a kid, not a soldier.
Now imagine the emotions you felt going across the entire theater.
Aside from the sniffling and quiet weeping, you could hear a pin drop because everyone was in total shock.
This was the villain's movie, not heroes.
Lots of people were made at Quill for going off on Thanos when the others were trying to get the glove.
But Strange already saw how things have to go down.
Plus, I get why Quill lost it. He loved his mother so much, and in the first Guardians movie he saw Gamora as his mom. I think that's the moment he transferred his affections onto Gamora and really cared about her.
Here, two of the most important women in his life he couldn't save so he lost it.
Peter Parker had me ugly crying. That part of the scene was also slightly improvised by Tom. Most effective.
Between Infinity War and Endgame there are so many callbacks to answer questions, like Red Skull's disappearance in the first Captain America movie.
Fun trivia: the scene where Tony and Strange are face to face arguing on the spaceship....it was an easter egg of Sherlock Holmes because Benedict played one on tv and Robert played one in the movies.
So the two Sherlocks were facing off with arrogant attitudes.
And then we had to wait a whole year to see what happened next... 🙈
Thank you. You get it. Quill lost his mom, his family, his home. He grew up, found Gamora and fell for her. Then he had to kill his father and watch his adoptive daddy sacrifice himself for him. Then Gamora made him promise to kill her should Thanos get her, and he actually kept his promise when it happened. He actually pulled the trigger... only for Thanos to make that choice null and void. So yeah, when Peter finds out that Thanos killed Gamora, he snaps. Too much has happened to him too recently, and he just couldn't keep it together when he found out the woman he loved was gone. I've always argued that it would have been out-of-character for Quill to swallow that pain and calm down.
People always think getting the gauntlet off was an automatic victory. Say they got the gauntlet off, then what? Thanos is still stronger than all of them combined. He’d get it back quite easily.
@@bradcarver8127 Thanos is only stronger than all of them as long as he has at least one stone. Without a stone there are several Avengers capable of beating him. Wanda, Thor, and in the comics Drax who was seriously nerfed for the MCU.
@@bradcarver8127 He absolutely would not have gotten it back easily. Tony could have flown off with it. He had his hands on it, the others could have occupied him while Tony got away.
Love how unrecognisable Aaron from walking dead is Red Skull. Apparently he could do a good impression as a joke, and got chosen to replace Hugo Weaving as he was unavailable.
Initial marketing for this film was that infinity war would be 2 films, then they said it would be only one film, so the ending was utterly unexpected. They kinda told the truth because this storyline is resolved in Endgame (the infinity war in 2 movies) but it was smart marketing..cos i was reaching the point Thanos got all the stones and all i could think was how the hell will they resolve this with only 10 minutes left. Peter Parkers scene was what finally unleashed the tears, it was so poignant and real
😅😭
Easily the pinnacle of the MCU era. They managed to do an amazing villain and combine it with interactions of all the characters they spent years developing.
Man, this movie is devastating. I was completely crushed after watching this, such an amazing movie
Even when Thanos is a villain, he is one of my favourite characters. Not only because he’s strong but because he’s so wise and tells the truth about our world. Some things like:
“Reality is often disappointing” or “humans don’t deserve humanity”
In every persons life, they are the protagonist of their story, no matter the circumstances. Hitler was the main character of his story, martin luther king was for his story, in this movie thanos gave up his favorite child, and spent time and labour in order to do what he felt right and he almost felt accomplished at the end there. And the credits ending with "thanos will return" as if he was the good guy. Its all a matter of perspectives. We know the avengers are good but everyone sees people differently. This was thanos' story
Great reaction guys. for a lot of us comic fans, we knew what was coming,
but it's great watching people that have no idea, lol. I've never seen a movie theater so silent at the end of a movie. The comics are actually quite a bit different but they still managed to do the story Justice, which really made me happy because Thanos is a great villain, and Josh Brolin did such a great job bringing him to life. Can't wait for you guys to get to Endgame, but for those of us that saw it all in theaters we had to wait a lot longer than you will, lol.
I KNEW Thanos was gonna snap, and it still fucked me up lol
While James Gunn did not write Infinity War, he was responsible for the dialogue of his Guardians and is always very aware of what Groot is saying when he says I Am Groot even if the audience doesn't.
Groot's final words as he fades away per Gunn?
"Dad."
😢
I don't get the Groot and Rocket relationship, to be honest, after Groot came back as a kid it was more Starlord and Groot that have most of the conversations, especially the fatherly ones. Might just be me, but it was only in the first Guardians movie where I saw a strong Groot and Rocket relationship.
This was surreal to see in theatres, just the silence and shock of everything
Thanos specifically wished for the deaths to be random because he agrees with your point, he is not the one to judge. He was insane, but he generally stuck to his principles at least.
I have never been in a movie theatre that quiet after a movie. Literal silence, even as we were out walking, everyone who came for cinema didn't say a word.
The most ironic of Thanos is the fact the he doesnt say who dies and who not. The genocide is literally random, everyone has 50/50, even Thanos, thats why he looks his own hands after the snap to know if he is also gonna die or not
Rocket doesn't correct Thor because he doesn't actually know what a rabbit is...😅
🤣🤣🤣
for sure one of the most depressing movies I've ever watched but also one of my favorites from the MCU. It's really interesting seeing our heroes loose for once and weirdly enough that's even what made the movie so good🙏🏼 my Dad and I cried our eyees out watching this for the first time
I remember that theaters there was universal gasp when Thanos did the snap and the disbelieved silence. Everyone where falbbergasted what had happened and it slowly crept in realization... It was almost year to Resolution...
just for context the symbol on the pager is the logo of Carol Danvers A.K.A. Captain Marvel. Her movie was released just before Endgame and takes place in 1995 and basically she's an old friend of Fury and is a very powerful character. She's currently in space at the time of Infinity War. The post credit scene of Captain Marvel follows up to the post credit scene of Infinity War
MCU gets criticized quite a bit for certain things, but it was really gutsy of them to make this film and completely destroy audiences.
NO ONE expected half their heroes to DIE! Pure brilliance!
You really have to hand it to the people at Marvel. Not only do they know their characters, but they trust that their stories are strong, that audiences will get and follow them, and they trust their directors.
Was it really half though?🤷♂️
@@bensenzo .....Do a simple body count of the main characters and who survived and who didn't. It's about half. I counted 15 survivors and 16 who got Snapped.
Having this film be the first act of the grand finale of over 10 years of building up through solid world building is why no matter how bad or stale the MCU gets, the old timer Marvel fans are satisfied. This is the peak, Endgame was received really well but I don't think any other CBM hits like this film. Knowing the snap was coming and watching reactions in the theater with a smile on my face was one of the best moments of my life. It was so dower, so bleak and deflating that it was a standing ovation type of reaction, true git storytelling that beat the shit out of the audience and left them crying. It was amazing.
Like you say, the infinity stones could probably have fixed the situation in a lot of ways...but they call him the Mad Titan for a reason. He doesn't have the same death fixation that he has in the comics, but his brain clearly starts and stops at "kill" when it comes to solutions. Another funny bit of trivia...the voice of the person sending out the emergency signal at the beginning was Kenneth Branagh, who directed the first Thor movie.
2018 was an amazing year for me, I watched this movie after college with a couple of mates, everyone in the cinema [including myself] were going crazy over this movie. This movie had everyone talking, even people who weren't marvel fans....... what a great time to be alive......... Amazing review guys.
If you thought Infinity War was big, oh you have no idea what’s in store for the next movie.
Well... next Avengers movie. The other two just filled in that year. :-)
@@djcowell91 Captain Marvel was really good. Got a lot of hate for some reason, but I thought it was a great addition. Same with Ant Man and the Wasp
@@andrewhafey1909 I liked it as well. It got hate because the lead actress made some comments people took out of context and got their fragile ego shattered. Its sad honestly.
infinity war >>>>>> endgame
I honestly really didn't like endgame it just felt disapointing compared to infinity war
I watched this one in the cinema at midnight, and there was nothing but silent when the end credits rolled.
Always awesome to watch people get to experience the MCU for the first time.
Notice Rocket never gets upset at Thor calling him sweet rabbit. Because he understands that Thor isn't being demeaning or condescending towards him.
No, isn't it because up unti GoTG 3, Rocket doesn't even know what he actually is til he reads his cage near the finale?
@@d33pblu39 I know he doesn't know what he is earlier on. But he gets upset at being called rodent, vermin, trash panda, etc. I really think that he recognizes Thor isn't saying it maliciously or teasingly to him like say Quill or Drax might. But that's just my take on it.
Aaánnnddd.... Heartbroken all over again. I hated seeing most of them just die. And Peter....and yeah, like Rob said. That one hurt the most. I feel for Trin too. The way she keeps saying No and crying when everyone was turning to dyst
This movie really drove home how significant of a threat Thanos is; we've seen bits and pieces throughout the preceding movies, and this brings it and him to the fore. Not only is he extremely strong and durable, but, he is a tactical/strategic genius. He plans several steps ahead, as do his "lieutenants" (Ebon Maw, et al); that's shown when they go after the Soul Stone in Wakanda. From the fight in Scotland, they knew how formidable Wanda is, and made sure to draw her out.
I got quite the kick out of them including Samuel L. Jackon's trademark "curse" (sort of) in the stinger.
I remember when I saw this movie, the entire theater was quietly crying and when the people waiting outside saw people coming out in shock and crying, so many completely freaked out. So many years later and still this movie can make me cry.
The music of this film is so good, one of the best scores I've heard
You have to go thru the worst to get to Endgame. It's all worth it believe it. Can't wait for you to react
18:49 Greatest Rob quote ever.
Lol!
😂😂yeah actual words were to hard
Oh the sniffling and sobbing in the theater when Peter Parker was dusted!
You spend a decade getting to know all these characters. Rooting for them. Seeing them suffer and grow... and then this god damn movie. You have this amazingly close connection to all the characters so watching them die and lose hits HARD. They pulled no punches. They sucker punched a few times. And laughed at you while doing it. The stunned silence in the theater at the end was crazy. People were crying.
It is brilliantly well written. To manage a cast this large, keep track of it all, make it make sense, give everyone screen time and feel like they are useful... that is not easy. And to know you have to wait a full year to get the rest of the story... damn that was harsh.
fun fact, the voice of Red Skull is Ross Marquand..... Aaron from TWD
“What if somebody had died tonight? Different story, right?, 'cause that's on you. And if you died… I feel like that's on me. I don't need that on my conscience… ‘Sorry’ doesn't cut it.”
I have never had a theater experience like the one for this movie before or since. There was absolute silence afterwards and no one moved for quite a while like we were expecting something else to happen even after the screen went black after the end credit scene. We all just sat there waiting with no one talking and even when people finally got up to move it was like we were all at a funeral. This movie was an epic adventure from the first frame to the last and I thought it did awesome with each of the characters (even though there was so damn many of them) this isn't a movie you jump into without knowing what's gone before because they aren't waiting around to tell you. As for thanos he works because he is incredibly powerful even without the gauntlet and is dedicated to the cause he has set for himself, which ok saving resources is a noble cause but the reason he IS the bad guy and the villain is for the way he goes about it. The ends do not justify the means. As you point out what gives him the right to decide who lives and who dies.
The Hulk won't come out for 2 reasons: He's miffed about only being needed when stuff needs breaking and then put away again when the team doesn't need him anymore, and also because he has the mentality of a child, and what does a kid do when he gets beat up by the bully and has to face him again? He hides.
The orange place at the end that Thanos sees little Gamora in is called Soulworld, a pocket dimension inside the Soul Stone where the souls of all living things reside.
In theaters we were all just stunned speechless. Not a sound. You could hear a pin drop. Everyone just filed sullenly out afterwards, not having fully accepted what had just happened. This ranks right up there with Empire Strikes Back for incredible endings.
Also, as far as your statement at the end regarding Thanos' manifesto: When you ask "Who are you to decide that?" let me play Devil's Advocate and ask you, if not him, then who? If something needs to be done, but you condemn anyone that stands up to actually do it, how does that make you morally better?
Walking out of the theater was silent. Outside of people still crying no one spoke other than the Captain Marvel fans. Imagine waiting a year to see what happened.
This is not an Avenger movie. This is a Thanos movie 😂
Yeh I see why hulk wa so afraid to come out lol getting his ass beat like that lol
More like a Thor and Thanos movie.
Literally....he has more screentime than anyone else in the movie
That’s exactly what russo brothers said. They wanted this movie to be all about Thanos.
We've seen our heroes triumph and seen them come together as a team. Now we've seen them sacrifice their loved ones and seen them at their lowest. Things are never the same after this one.
I don't know how you both managed to miss this on theaters. I like DC, too, but Marvel was on a tear. I don't think I will ever witness an entire theater completely shocked and dead silent ever again.
The reason behind Rocket being so sensitive was because of the director. The GOTG movies were directed by James Gunn and this movie by the Russo Brothers
You could also say with how GOTG 2 ended and his realization during his talk with Yondu, he softened up a little.
After this movie ended, the movie theater was silent
People were leaving from the opening day showing, like they were leaving a funeral.
Fun Fact the Red Skull was voiced by Ross Marquand aka Aaron from The Walking Dead.
In the theater there was lots of sobbing and surprise from the audience, right in line with you two's reaction. There was a stunned silence in teh theater. Having read the comics this was based on, I laughed giddily, because I didn't expect them to pull teh trigger on Thanos winning. It was a singular movie experience that I don't think can be replicated.
As far as Thanos' nihilistic reasoning, there is a bit lost from the original comics. Thanos in the comics literally worships and is lowkey in love with Death, like the entity, deity, primal force, whatever you want to call it. So on top of being the "Mad Titan" he believes that death is the only real answer to all questions and thinks of this mass extermination as a loving gift to his paramour, Death. In the movies they didn't have a way to fit that in organically so they just cut it and leaned hard on him just being obsessed with balance, which they really didn't bring up in a meaningful way until this film. It has led to the exact thought you guys had; with that power he could solve problems instead of killing everyone. He places himself in this parental role of teaching the universe a lesson. he is a crazy bastard and an asshole, with to much power.
One of this things I found really cool is that in the end, the ones who are left are basically the original Avengers. Left to clean up this mess.
Excited for the Endgame reaction but I feel the placement of Antman 2 and Captain Marvel steal a big chunk of momentum and impact from the events of this movie. Luckily you two don't have to wait for each release.
This was such a crazy experience in the theaters. Literally completely silent leaving the theater
I had enjoyed your guys's reaction can't wait for the other reaction till we get to endgame hope you guys have a good week
Having read the Infinity Gauntlet comic a long time ago… I was one of the few leaving the theater absolutely crushed.. but still amazed from the spectacle..
As much as this hit you, now imagine how it felt for us. Having grown up with these characters FOR A DECADE. And to be left waiting for an entire year until Avengers: Endgame.
Awesome video, as always. No matter what you think of the current state of the MCU, everyone agrees IW and Endgame weren't movies; they were world events.
This movie featured 3 actors from the Walking Dead. Danai Gurira, Ross Marquand, and a badass character that you haven’t gotten to yet.
I wasn't able go see this in thr theaters but i did see the trailers and fhe hype for this movie was what got me into the MCU. When i finally got to this....i was devastated. Jusy loss and loss and loss...i was too stunned and in absolutely shock to cry. I remember waiting in agony for a year to see how everything would turn out. I'm glad you had tissues and hopefully you had some for Avengers: Endgame.
its funny how many things that were foreshadowed in this movie came to happen down the line in the sequels.
The problem with Thanos's plan is that he kills half of every living being, meaning that he also kills half of the lifestock and the plants, so his result is not different from what it is now, perhaps even worse because he probably dusted people who could help with feeding everyone, he did not achieve one thing. The thing he should have done is double the resources and everything would be fine.
There is a theory out there that Thanos actually killed the Avengers in Wakanda. The way he folded Rodey in his suit is not something a human being survives, same goes for Cap, Nat, Bruce and even Black Panther, but he brought them back to life when he rewound time to get the mind stone in Vision's head.
That's not what he did, because we would have seen it on Earth with half the grass, half the trees, gone. They all say he did, but he did not. He probably killed half of all sapient life.
In Thanos's mind just fixing everything would not teach anyone to be responsible. whipping out half the universes population however would be burned into the minds of everyone forever.
Not really, though. 99% of the Universe would have had no idea what was going on.
@@cmike123 Not saying it is a good idea. You may be right but I was only mentioning why Thanose did it. Thanose has shown to be a bit asscued in view points.
if you’ve watched the movie Eternals, you’ll know the reason why Thanos did it this way..
@@chrisronnelcatubao3971 Thanos didnt know about the Eternals and Celestials.
@@cmike123 i doubt that.. remember what he said to Ironman that he is not the only one cursed with knowledge..
Really one of the best theater experiences ever.
Now just imagine having to wait an entire year between this and Endgame.
That ending is gut-wrenching, particularly Peter. All the others are battle-hardened in their own way, but he’s basically just a high school kid stuck in a really crappy situation. His fear at the end is palpable.
I'll never forget the way I felt watching the ending of this movie for the first time. It was in a packed theatre, and at that point there had been rumors that another Avengers movie was in the works, but nobody actually knew any detials. There was so much cheering and and suspense during the end fight and then when he snapped his fingers there were a few gasps. But from that moment all the way up to the very last scene where Thanos just sits down at peace with what he's done, the whole entire theatre was dead silent. It was an experience I haven't felt anything close to since.
Watching this movie in the theater was a whole different experience. The dead silence, people gawking at the screen the whole time between the Snap and the post-credit, whole audience so speechless that we forgot that we needed to leave the theater, and somber crowd walking out of the theater. It was unlike any Marvel movie where we'd usually walk out gushing with excitement and theories.
One of the best things about movie reaction channels is seeing people experience the same emotions we all did when these movies were coming out. This movie hits HARD, since you've come to know these characters for so long and the movie itself is pretty masterfully crafted to trick you into investing in the storyline of "How to defeat Thanos", which makes the rugpull at the end hit oh so much harder.
As for understanding Thanos' goals but not agreeing with his methods, that's where the MCU is at its best, when they write engaging and interesting villains with actual goals and motives, and a drive to see that goal to fruition. Black Panther had a similarly well written villain, though Thanos is better, imho.
I remember when I saw this in the theater... I don't think I have ever been to a film where the entire audience was dead silent during the credits and as they all walked out. Usually people chatter about what just happened in a film, but we were all so stunned that we kind of stumbled out into the parking lot like zombies. It was kind of eerie.
I was angry and upset and stunned by what happened, and I think I drove home muttering pretty much what you said, that Strange said there were millions of outcomes but only one in which we win, so I thought, there has to be a reason for all this and a way to resolve it. There just has to be!
It was lonnnnnnnnng wait for Endgame. I was dying for resolution of some kind. Can't wait to see what you think of the next films!!
When you asked, "if this movie was gonna have any good news", I was like "No" lol.
😅
This is my favorite thing
, watching someone watch the MCU for the first time is like watching it for the first time
Again.
I love this
Thanos' nickname is the mad titan cause he's coocoo for coco puffs. Save everything by destroying half. Is a real cut your nose off to spite the face mentality. In the comics, he's in love with the manifestation of death because killing really all he's capable of.
im glad you guys put up both parts i was worried... and now im excited for your Endgame Reaction
Yeah we ended up watching them, maybe if we have time we can edit them for youtube
This was Thanos movie, he was the protagonist. What a great idea to make the villain the driver of the action. Great subversion of expectations!
Peter blipping in Iron mans arms is still one of the hardest things to watch.
If you ever had a bad day just think that Vision, after being killed, he was revived to be killed again
The key to a good hero is a great villain. Thanos on the porch at the end, with the pastoral music...just the best.
I remember going to the theater with my wife and kids, and everybody was so hyped with laughter and then towards the end when THANOS snapped his fingers, and everyone started evaporating. You could hear the silence in the theater room, and people sniffing and crying. It was such an epic experience. Can’t wait for you guys to watch endgame
LOL it so funny hearing them say like "I don't want to lose anyone else please!" when you know everyone is about to get snapped in a few minutes.
Groot‘s final words to Rocket were officially translated to „Dad“.
That was so heartbreaking when I first found out.
