I’m going to be frank, Nintendo doesn’t really to make a huge commemoration every 30 or 35th anniversary of a franchise. I’d rather have they choose a year just like they did with Luigi back in 2013.

raine happy Bloodstained Ritual of the Night has “Classic Mode” This mode has the new 2.5D style graphics, and individual levels like the original NES game, not a big world like a metroidvania. And each level is basically a remake of each NES stage, they weren’t even hiding it. Platform placement, enemy types, weapon drops. It’s fun but very difficult.
@@ReReCoil a lot of people say this but they forget that F-Zero titles aren’t accessible to people who don’t want to pay large sums of money for F-Zero games and consoles that aren’t in production anymore. And bruh Nintendo has been making Mario and Pokémon games with the same gameplay and mechanics for years, whereas F-Zero actually has more possible gameplay innovations than you think
Hey the part where you guys talk about how you wished time stopped I related to a lot and it made me sad. So anyway thing is I grew up with the and the ds and I was born in 2007. My dad basically bought a wii bundled in with wii sports because he thought it was some kind of exercising machine and then put it in his storage a few weeks before i was born and he never pulled it out, I was the one who did. My memories are starting to get very blurry, but I remember wandering evrywhere in my dads storage and then climbing up a small staircase and reaching for the wii, opened the box and asked my dad what that white thing was. So I technically unboxee my very first console on my own at like 4-5. And then i got hooked HARD on nintendo. All I did was play wii sports the first day i played and man was it great. I would ask my dad for new games so often he would need to burn some roms on dvds and mod my wii with the old method ppl used to do to satisfy my mario hunger. Then I think i asked my dad for a ds because all my friends had one (obviously i was talking about the 3ds but didnt know the difference at the time) so my dad bought me a dsi. Then you get the drill, i got a wii i and a 3ds in the second half of their life time which I dont mind because since my dads a chad i got to experience the previous generation of consoles and forged great memories with them even tho i only care now. The grammar might be terrible because this is like 1 am rn but i felt like i had to talk about my life for sone reason Edit : just realised i am now experiencing the switch when you were on the gamecube, thats funny 2 edit : my older cousin (around Zeon's age) gave me his gba spa at some point when i was younger so yeah im very grateful

I'm cool with 13,000 anniversary releases. I just want Mario 3D World quality for $60 not what we got with 64 and sunshine. But Bowsers Fury has made a huge step forward in making up for that (as long as that level of quality continues).

Thinking about how I'm only about 3 years older than Pokemon and still having distinct memories of when Red/Blue were new gives me a solemn feeling I wasn't expecting to feel this morning...
It's because Nintendo usually makes new consoles every 5 years or so, and usually on those consoles there's the usual IPs returning or starting out for the first time, so they tend to land on those anniversaries.
When I went back to college in 2010-11, one of the kids mentioned that he'd spent his 21st birthday weekend playing old-school Mario. I realized and told him that I had been playing old-school Mario( he did, thank the gods, mean the NES) since literally before he was born.
Thankfully Kirby has next year to himself lol hopefully we get that 3D Kirby game and maybe ports of the modern titles on 3DS and Return to Dreamland with some extras
Glad to see Pushmo getting some love, I've played all three games in the series and they're honestly the most fun puzzle games I've ever played. A new game in the series would be an insta-buy for me, even if they rehash the old mechanics.
It's just going to be an increasing factor as time goes on. Next year is the 35th anniversary of Punch Out, 30th of Super Mario Kart and Kirby's Dream Land, 25th of Goldeneye, 20th of Densetsu no Starfy, 15th of Hotel Dusk, 10th of NintendoLand and 5th of ARMS. There's always going to be some Nintendo anniversary any year, and expecting them to celebrate everything the same way they do with a sure-shot like Mario is being a bit naive.

HS teacher here. I run a Pop Culture Club with some other teachers. We are doing a "best series of all time" bracket and it's nearly all Nintendo-made games - they do have to be no worse than a T rating (no M esrb games allowed in a series). Like 60% of the highest rated games are Nintendo made. A big part of best selling games are Nintendo made. So yeah... You have an insane library of IP, you get to celebrate a ton of memorable game anniversaries.
kinda angered me about the fact they said Mario and Luigi games were over saturated, year gaps below Mario and Luigi to partners in time: 2 years (2003 - 2005) Pit to bowsers: 4 years (2005 - 2009) Bowsers to dream team: 4 years (2009 - 2013) Dream team to paper (2013 - 2015) The rest were two year gaps, from paper to the bowsers inside story story remake, they kept a consistent four years between games, during the original run of the series there were only two times games came out after two years, the series DEFINETELY wasn't oversaturated.
All of the Kongs benefit from ample swimming levels accompanied by air drying that would make Dyson jealous when they exit cannon barrels. I'd love to see Funky as a pseudo Cranky, but we help him reclaim his mojo, something that oughta resonate with those that have done a full 40 years with DK and SNES DKC-aged fans alike.
Pokemon is the one that gets me the most because some of the other franchises are older than I am and I never had an NES or SNES. I still remember having Pokemon Red brand new and showing other kids on the playground my Charmander. For it to be 25 is a bit surreal.
Imagine if in 2017 Nintendo was born and their first games were BotW, ARMS, Splatoon, Mario Kart, Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade , Mario Rabbids, Fire Emblem Warriors, Pokkén. We would have 9 anniversaries

HS teacher here. I run a Pop Culture Club with some other teachers. We are doing a "best series of all time" bracket and it's nearly all Nintendo-made games - they do have to be no worse than a T rating (no M esrb games allowed in a series). Like 60% of the highest rated games are Nintendo made. A big part of best selling games are Nintendo made. So yeah... You have an insane library of IP, you get to celebrate a ton of memorable game anniversaries.

kinda angered me about the fact they said Mario and Luigi games were over saturated, year gaps below
Mario and Luigi to partners in time: 2 years (2003 - 2005)
Pit to bowsers: 4 years (2005 - 2009)
Bowsers to dream team: 4 years (2009 - 2013)
Dream team to paper (2013 - 2015)
The rest were two year gaps, from paper to the bowsers inside story story remake, they kept a consistent four years between games, during the original run of the series there were only two times games came out after two years, the series DEFINETELY wasn't oversaturated.

All of the Kongs benefit from ample swimming levels accompanied by air drying that would make Dyson jealous when they exit cannon barrels. I'd love to see Funky as a pseudo Cranky, but we help him reclaim his mojo, something that oughta resonate with those that have done a full 40 years with DK and SNES DKC-aged fans alike.
Pokemon is the one that gets me the most because some of the other franchises are older than I am and I never had an NES or SNES. I still remember having Pokemon Red brand new and showing other kids on the playground my Charmander. For it to be 25 is a bit surreal.
If not count Japan's release chibi-robo is turning 15 years old
Imagine if in 2017 Nintendo was born and their first games were BotW, ARMS, Splatoon, Mario Kart, Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade , Mario Rabbids, Fire Emblem Warriors, Pokkén. We would have 9 anniversaries
