It never ceases to amaze me that you just use a torch to temper your work when some people buy thousands of dollars in equipment to do that very thing and don't come close to getting their steel as well tempered as yours.

My lefty friend, when heating up the pins, instead of using your torch. You can turn up your welder just a touch and just get a good heat spot on the pin and hammer away. You won't run the risk of burning your wrapping around your blade. You can also take your torch and just turn on the acetylene, No Oxy. and black the blade with the act. smoke and it will keep bb's or sparks from sticking to your blade or any metal surface. Just something that I picked up over the years and used many many times. Great job on the knife.

Honestly I would have put a strip of felt around the mouth of the scabbard and some at the tip that's thick enough to touch the blade, that would prevent rattling and the felt at the mouth would help keep the blade in the scabbard. Otherwise I love it.

That's an aggressive first forge weld squish. I thought the ends were gonna burst apart. Never seen anyone go half size first heat.

I thought it was from him heavily oiling it at that one point. I could be wrong though. My skill is at observer level.
