Incredible work Freerk, and can I just say what a pleasure it is not to have some asinine music playing over the video, just the ambient workshop noises, a real pleasure to watch, thanks
I love that you have such a well stocked shop, yet you use your angle grinder for sooo much. lol Really though, it's an inspiration that so much can be done with a tool that is so easy to get one's hands on.
I love these complete movies you put out Freerk. Awesome work. I'm dying for the Witcher sword one though. Haven't seen anything new about it since the forging of the blade for it.
Praise the chaotic gods of the UA-cam algorithm because despite being subscribed I did not know you made this eldritch beauty until it spawned before me in my feed! That level of art and mastery is ethereal... and it almost calls....
I doubt I have enough time on this left on this planet to ever approach your skill level. It seems that the more I watch, the more skill and ability I see.
It is always amazing to me as an artist to either draw something myself or watch a Craftsman such as you draw something, then make it a reality. A sort of magic in that act that few have anymore, much less on your level. A pleasure to watch. I see you don't sharpen them. A shame, such works of art as yours should be functional as well as beautiful, but to each their own.
From the video set up to the polishing u single handedly show how to break down and perfectly build a beautiful blade , I bow down guru,,, lol love the videos and would love to see a Conan blade with bone carving I think u would kick A%#!
I like how you forge the edge into the steel. That would make far more superior then those that grind the edge. I can tell what you is sacred. Thanks for living my dream.
Absolutely love your vids. One thing though, if you're going to cut leather and other hides, you have got to get a super sharp razor. Like a surgeons scapulae. You can cut with a regular razor or knife, but a scapulae would make things easier and less prone to off-cuts. You could probably make something yourself.
Freerk Wieringa How much in U.S. $?? The only thing I would love to see is that blade being turned into an absolute scalpel...I know you'd lose a little steel but the way you made that thing, it would be worth it...Btw, phonetically, how do you pronounce that word??!! Fantastic craftsmanship, Well Done...
Nice shape of blade, this remind me litle about Jambiya dager, one nice blade wich is werrry hard to do for beginers....So you have all my admiration for you art.
The steeltexture is just beautiful. The handle wouldnt be my taste and seems needlessly bulk, but accurate to the scetch i bet. Ftahgn. One of the best bladeworks i've seen so far, using only steel and hot forging techniques. I dont even wanna guess the price on a piece like that 😅.
i am very curious as to the outcome of a billet if after twisting it one direction, then made square... what if you then twisted the billet the other direction before once again making it square for the final forging? i saw this sword once where the two steels were blended and looked like flame up the blade. been wondering for years how it was done.
have you ever tried forging a blade out of a bar of steel then leaving a small slice of bar at the bottom of the tang for decoration because that seems like an interesting idea
Your a excellent craftsman and attention to detail, how many hours did u burn? Could you guess the steel grade of the blade? Now I'd like to see you hack something with the blade.
What are you using to line your forge? I'm currently in the process of building a forge and I was wondering in your opinion what I should line it with. Thanks
I like the blade, loathe the quillion, grip and pommel... (not sure if it comes from a game or something in which case I take back the statement about the pommel/grip and quillion)... The craftsmanship is astounding, but overall it appears to me, too bulky to be cool or transportable. Not even a dagger anymore really (not concealable), its like a one-handed shortsword with a blade longer than a foot in length that looks like it could slash through a tree.
I like the videos you make and the work you do, but it would be nice for a bit of narrative through the video, some people might night understand the processes you have to go through. But love the work you do. Keep up the good work

I was working on it today, so I will post it soon.
Freerk Wieringa nice
Praise the chaotic gods of the UA-cam algorithm because despite being subscribed I did not know you made this eldritch beauty until it spawned before me in my feed!

dude I'm totally in awe of your skill, I wish I coulda seen these vids sooner. excellent work there awesome beyond words.
Fantastisch om te zien dat dit soort vakmanschap nog bestaat! Jij bent een groot artiest, Freerk!
Bedankt!
that is pure craftsmanship.. just beautiful...
Totally blown away by your craftsmanship.
Thank you for letting me watch your process.
It's interesting to see a Bronze Age-styled blade made from Damascus. Great work!
I doubt I have enough time on this left on this planet to ever approach your skill level.
It seems that the more I watch, the more skill and ability I see.
So much work for a stunning result. Congrats!!
This is a very cool blade. I haven’t seen one better. How you made tentacles was perfect. Thank our Lord Cthulhu.
i have seen a lot of blacksmiths and you are just a amazing black smith
Rad_Rat_gamer an*
Each layer is like the pages of a book of forbidden knowledge, or the rings of a tree eons old, witness to the horrors of days long since gone.
very nice!
Well aren't we cheerful today.
Meneer Wieringa, met veel plezier kijk ik naar uw video's. U maakt prachtige dingen.
You are very comfortable with your tools. Enjoyed the video. Thank you for sharing.
The Stingray leather handle was a nice touch.
thanks!
I guessed that it was Skate, but close enough. Nice work.
You are a true artist, young man. A gift from heaven.

It will kill
The Cynic Good to see another forged in fire fan
Absolutely stunning piece
What an absolutely beautiful blade, great video, great craftsmanship.
Vos croquis sont exceptionnelle Freerk , L'ouvrage est d'une beauté , superbe dague ...
a thing of beauty. Well done!
thanks!
What an epic piece! Well done!
Very cool, amazing job!
The tentacles are so relevant, great idea. The Great Old Ones would be proud...
thank you!
Wow, the only thing Freerk does better than draw, is forge. What a talented fellow. Awesome work.
I thought that using same for the grip was pretty awesome, but then again, the whole commission was amazing!
wow! this guy is a artist and a blacksmith Bravo!
You sir are a freak!!!!! Brilliantly done brother
This is an amazing video. Your level of skill is nearly unbelievable. You are certainly a great master of your craft.
Good work, good design ...Perfect
How come a thing as potentially deadly as this, be such a thing of beauty. Craftsmanship at its finest
Very cool ! Excellent !
This is beautiful... you should absolutely make the cutlass to match.
Now thats craftsmanship right there, lovely job
super vet. Met die tentakels al helemaal. echt gaaf gedaan
From the video set up to the polishing u single handedly show how to break down and perfectly build a beautiful blade , I bow down guru,,, lol love the videos and would love to see a Conan blade with bone carving I think u would kick A%#!
Like Octupus Arms....crazy Good work.
The howling of unspeakable Eldritch horrors resonate within you. Ftahgn!!!
Woah. Such a rad piece of art!
Why is watching this stuff fun? I'm totally hypnotized, and I have no idea why...
It's the powers of cthulu, slowly taking grasp upon your mind..... Cthulu Fthagn
Awesome. You are a true artist.
You are really a great artist , thx for video
thanks!
absolutely beautiful dagger......great work!!
Very iterestig design! Bravo!
39:35 Sounds like an old Nokia phone got summoned along with Cthulhu.
you are truly gifted bro! your vids always make me get in the shop!
On top of talented blacksmith there's talented artist too. Truly a master
Freerk is too powerful
I like how you forge the edge into the steel. That would make far more superior then those that grind the edge. I can tell what you is sacred. Thanks for living my dream.
Fucking brilliant work man. I liked the witcher 3 inspired sword you did, are you going to put a hilt on it in the future.
Joseph Doyle yes I am working on it
The video is out now, if you haven't seen it yet.
Freerk Wiering
Ok the tentacles were completely epic. Also... 'That which is dead may never die'
But you forget that 'with strange aeons, even death may die'.
That which is dead may eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death may die
Pattern on that steel is incredible.
Amazing, absolutely amazing!!
The things you pull off are like magic
you are hell of an artist.
I Really like what you do . Ther are not too many people that can do what you do anymore.
Absolutely fantastic...
Bravo, great work !
thank you!
Freerk, it's a good thing there's no limit on talent.
IF THERE WAS A LIMIT YOU WOULD BE OVER ANY LIMIT.
Paul Flynn I think it's stingray leather
Congratulation . You are the best and i see your video for all day. Beautiful job. Bye from Naples (Italy)
Incredible craftsmanship. Simply outstanding ! I'm afraid to ask how much that piece sold for.
it is still on the shelve
Freerk Wieringa How much in U.S. $?? Unpronounceable by the human mouth. Closest approximation is "kthoo-loo"
Echt supergaaf! Wou dat ik dit kon.
Awesome dagger!
Stunning work.
Absolutely astounding.! Legit gob-smacked
Outstanding job!
Nice shape of blade, this remind me litle about Jambiya dager, one nice blade wich is werrry hard to do for beginers....So you have all my admiration for you art.
beautiful dagger and pattern
a lot of work, beautiful piece

I dont even wanna guess the price on a piece like that 😅.
i really enjoyed this. Awesome Work!
Great 'Cthulhu' work !
This dagger looks great
Impressive, and the concept drawing made into reality makes me jealous. I can draw but have not experience in a forge. One day I will learn.
This is verynice but i like the warlock sword the best seen the movie u did like 4 times and still seeing stuff i didnt the first time
that is a piece of art .
i am very curious as to the outcome of a billet if after twisting it one direction, then made square... what if you then twisted the billet the other direction before once again making it square for the final forging? i saw this sword once where the two steels were blended and looked like flame up the blade. been wondering for years how it was done.

Amazing, love your work mate keep it up
Crazy beautiful pattern!
Thanks
Genio !!!, TE ADMIRO PROFUNDAMENTE !!!!

Why did he opt to cut/stack/weld instead of hot cutting and folding? I'm not a blacksmith, so I don't know if one is worse or better than the other.
Золотые руки у тебя.Класс!!!!
Stunning work. Better than Man at Arms, as usual :)
Wonder full work
Verye good bro amazing
lots of work, must be made to order, excellent metal worker, I notice the english wheel.
thanks! yes, i also do plate work. (sculptures/armor)

I like the videos you make and the work you do, but it would be nice for a bit of narrative through the video, some people might night understand the processes you have to go through. But love the work you do. Keep up the good work
It’s like DaVinci, only you make it real.
I'm a sucker for this kind of detail carving! ;-)
Fantastic work!!
very nice job good work
Fuller? We don't need no stinking fuller! Give us a spine!! Augh the bronze age was very creative.
Beautiful.
