This was a fun little DIY project that was super easy but is going to be awesome to practice on and I believe very effective and affordable. This is an 8x3 ft platform that is plenty big enough to roll putts on

Im excited for new content and new ideas, I plan to play in a lot more tournaments including multiple day events. GoodGood Golf is in the process of a lot of new and exciting things. Me and Garrett (GMGOLF) are talking about how we are going to resume the Sunday Matches in 2022. Videos with Rick Shiels, Peter Finch and Bryson DeChambeau are collabs I want to do. This is dope tig!! Loved this switch and and showing your handy work. Need more of this 🤘🏼
That’s actually clean as hell. I’ve got super lucky, my dad has left over materials from his putting green build, so I should be able to make a serious putting mat, and this vid has given me some inspiration.
Now that's a man's man. I sipped my coffee and clicked the buy button on Amazon when I "built" my knockoff perfect practice putting mat for 77 bucks lol
You should build a little ball returner (little slide) track on the side that brings the balls back to the front
Watchin this once I finish the battle golf lol. Also I love it when you say program. It's hilarious. Reminds me when my grand parents would refer to going to the movie as 'going to see a show'
Nice Job Micah! I just bought one for my garage off the web, love just being able to practice outthere.
awesome idea bro! When the weather's bad, you got something to go work on! Clever!
Gotta love that fit on the support pieces!
You know how you swing a weighted bat and a regular bat feels lighter, well if you practice putting into something smaller than a golf hole, when you putt at the course the regular sized hole will look huge. I never tried it but wonder if that is what you are planning on doing with that.
I do that every night. Putt to a quarter. That way even if you role it right over the quarter, you’ll still know if you hit it too hard or not. And it doesn’t make regular putting easier in my opinion. Practice in general makes putting easier
It might give him confidence on the putting green, he should try it
“Aim small, miss small”
@@flyersboy01 it’s a mind trick. If you know anything about golf you know that you could have the best swing in the world but if you ain’t confident over the shot you’re probably going to mis hit it
@@GreenNgold7”if you know anything about golf” wow dude… love it when people disagree with you with insults.
Came out really clean. Solid work Tig!
I love these vlog-ish style videos
Love this style of video! Please do more DIY Golf videos.
Hell ya thanks for the great idea!! This will be huge for the program!!
When I have a large Dunkin Coffee while shopping at Home Depot might be the best day ever !!!
That’s great mate, I’ve just got a standard mat, you however have given me a bit of inspiration to see if I can sort one out at the club I work.
Your a man after my own heart. I always start everyday with a big mug of coffee and keep it filled all day. Yeah to us coffee junkies.
That's great! Hope you putting better
Great idea! I’m totally building one.
I'm about to turn my FL room into a putting green. Great advice, Micah👍
definitely gonna do this this weekend
Great work. Looks legit. I suggest getting a Puttout pressure putt training aid. Perfect for the platform you built. Plus the brand Puttout has a matching putting aids, mirror and a gate that all works magic together. I've had my set for a few months and wish I bought it sooner.
Was gonna come here to comment this exact thing. The Puttout aid does have a hole, but it’s not something you have to permanently install, you can move anywhere. Highly recommend.
Thanks for the video sir. Putting is the part that I lose at least a stroke a hole on. So I’m going to build one exactly like this. You will be tagged in Instagram once it’s done all credit to you! Thanks for this awesome idea!
I made my own 6 foot putting green out of a door works great even has break love the vids from aus
Dude I'm going to do this!!! Thanks for the video
Hey Tig, get yourself a construction laser, great multi purpose tool for your putting and also general construction projects. Just make a quick shelf/mount for it on the back wall. 👍
Love that! Nice Job!
Looks nice buddy, great work
Nicely done!!
If you got spray paint and painted a finely thin line straight down the middle, from one side to the other. Seems like it would be useful on just trying to keep your ball line/trajectory on those straight line puts. Great video and forsure will have to set something like this for winter time for practice
Wow super cool man!
You got me hook, line and sinker. I’m gonna go build one
That's sick! As you said maybe put rulers along both sides to measure your distance/speed. Maybe even add markers for every foot or two feet. Happy putting!
looks great tig! love the content. i think you should cut a smaller than normal hole in it to really zero in the putting!
Chalk lines work good to for some lines to follow
Micah, you might draw some alignment lines in white on the mat to give you a visual of stroke and path when you practice. This will engrain and help with alignment and memory. Nice buildout Bro!
I’m so taking these ideas tho and building something similar. I have been thinking how to make a little bigger one in my back yard.
I don't have to build a putting surface, the carpet in this condo works great for the purpose. I have a nine foot long area to get all the practice in I want. I've been doing it for 4 years now almost every night and I don't miss a lot of putts anymore especially inside that 9 foot range. It's amazing how easy a 6 footer can look when your prime practice range is 3 feet longer.
My thoughts exactly. It's a better surface too ......... !
I used black speaker box carpet. It works really well.
LOVE IT!!
‘Literally rocking and rolling” hehe
Just grabbed the perfect practice 15'6'' for $131 with their coupon code. Can't wait to get it!
Legend! i just build my own golf matt too. you should do one of those!
Let’s get TIG to 200k before Matt now!!!!
And it will double as a manual pad. Nice work!
Man loved this type of vid, keep it up tig
This is sick
Dewalt impact driver for the win!
add shims to the sides and corners as needed to get that upslope/downslope shots and add side rails so you not chasing balls under the car. nice setup, i would have gone with scrap wood leftovers from a construction site. as you said, works for what am training for.
i mean this is high quality stuff MM!
heyy i have slicing my ball nou for 6weeks and nou i have lirnd my self toe draw with a tennis ball and boy that draw looks sooo good
watching this before i sleep. very theraputic tig
Saw the camo, need some huntin vids.
Handyman love it!!!!
That coffee joke got me 😂 he’s right though
this guy knows how to fish, golf and works with tools!! reminds myself of me
Cool content Micah.
For anyone that doesn't have a saw, you can usually have the yard or store cut everything for you. I believe the box stores do it for free but your local yard might also but sometimes they charge a small fee. If you figure out your dimensions beforehand, all you'll need is a drill or driver to complete along with a staple gun
“My truck will not fit in the garage” is the biggest flex
such a good video, make a cheap chipping net for us
this is rad
I know a 2012 Honda Accord LXP when I see one, Katie and I got the same car lol
Okay? You’re so cool!
Trust the process!
MORE VIDS LIKE THIS!!!!
"Rolls nice and true"
*ball slides 3 inches to the left*
He pulled it😂😂
Lmao I was thinking the same thing haha
@@philosophactory It darted left towards the end but overall I think it rolls straight enough....although I still don't get why he didn't just buy a pre-made putting green since you can get them for roughly the same price and they roll much smoother. Still it's cool that he built it from scratch and he had fun doing it.
@@Butcho22 Tbh building it yourself would actually make you use it more and longer. Since you provided the time with the money to build it.
But, you could still go your route and have something better for around the same price.
@@dccrazy527 Perhaps you're right.
At 5:17 tig had to look away to not smile at the cam 😂
Thanks for shopping at Home Depot!
Hey Tig I just wondered why don’t you switch your putter grip to othordox because you did it in one of Steve’s videos and it looked really good
I totally guessed right on your IG story
I want to see what you do with a laser and what not. That’s pretty cool
Nice job..
omg its look insane
Just a heads up, my local Home Depot sells actual putting green turf by the foot! Something maybe to look into?
When are we gonna see your new irons come into play?
Tig, what made you want to trade the F150 up to the 250?
Putt out or reduced size hole would be awesome
awesome tig
U should get a foam strip for the backboard to cushion it, less noise
Build your own practice net from pvc pipe. I did it last year before I moved, only cost $250 with turf.
Nice!
What are the dimensions of the putting green. Hoping to make one as well!
off topic, where did you get those shorts from?
Love it
That lawn is looking damn near dad-level Tig. Nice work.
40 buck 9’x3’ putting mat online at Amazon has done me well for almost 4 years and rolls just about like the greens on my home course. Roll up when done and can stand off the putting surface for different putting angles or add foam underneath for undulations. I had a link in another comment but it got deleted twice. The mat has over 14k reviews, check it out for something simple.
Not sure why he needed to build a platform at all
I am glad you made this comment and that it is still here a year later. A mat makes total sense and went to Amazon and found one I liked. It doesn’t make for a good dyi video though.
It’s turf gahdamnit!!
I wonder what the stimp is
Very nice
Daaaaaang - that volume when this started scared the bejeeeezus outta me. hahaha
Did this but with camry carpet
You a bow hunter tig? Let’s go
Very clean and tidy. why not just put the grass on the floor? what's the purpose of that platform?
You should have purchased a 4x15 big moss putting green for less than 300. Superb value
What happened to the f150. I didn't know u upgraded to the diesel
Tig if you hunt I would love to see a hunting video!!!
I Agree no Hole! I would just toss a coin Quarter or Dime. That’s how I got good at putting and always improving and if you miss it you can still have a positive thoughts that your target is so small Aim small miss small take it to the course and fill up the cup
I'd probably just get the DJ putting thing.
black tip fishing, let's goooo
i like tig, he's a good ol boy
"the most important thing to build your own putting green is to make sure you have your coffee" haha love it

"Gettin baked a lil bit" - Tig
I used camry carpet and made a 6.5x30' green
How'd that work out?
I'm really interested.
Thanks!
