You are very justified in speaking the truth that a $5,000 dollar seat plus brackets setup doesn’t bolt in your 80. Thank you for helping the rest of us actually prepare for making these decisions when buying certain products.

You were telling it like it is. Love the truck.

That engine bay is looking mint!
The problem with those brackets is they really don't have competition. No incentive to get it right.
It's probably more accurate to call it a "starting point".
Best description of the issues. It will help people with the seat buckle for sure.

Starting point solution for a finish line price?

I'm sorry to hear but I'm not surprised. I hope my video helps and that you can figure it out.

Man I feel like I lucked out. I watched this video before I installed mine and was terrified the install was going to be a pain. Luckily mine bolted right up, no issues at all!

Nice! That's good to hear. For some reason most of this stuff doesn't go as planned for me.

I was also be frustrated from a high end seating company. Maybe I’ll look into Racaro

Thanks. More support in the comments than I expected. The armrests, when tightened, also tear the fabric around the mount. People also miscut the holes for the armrests, either cutting them too big or cutting the wrong spot.

Super frustrating. On my Toyota Pickup I tried putting aftermarket seats and brackets but no luck. Back and forth with ‘corbow’ on bracket measurements. Apparent i have the only truck with measurements different from everyone else. Ended up using re-upholstering original seat instead.

When are you sending this over to us to get a decent paint job?

$2000 to ship there and $2000 to ship it back, then whatever the paint will cost. This channel isn't THAT successful :) Plus, I sold it. Done with 80s.

How do your slide mechanisms feel on the planted brackets? Mine feel like there’s too much friction/resistance when torqued down but perfect when loosened. Bought my seats used as well but the correct planted brackets for the SM.

The seats (Planted/Scheel-Mann) do not slide as well as OEM. Good observation.

That’s a great looking steering wheel in there. Did you replace it alone with the other work?

Yes. Took a chance on the one on eBay from Dubai/Pakistan. Not sure I'd recommend it over Craft Customs, but it got the job done.
