Rest in Peace, Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone.
And Lee Van Cliff and Eli Wallach

the two were also classmates
This guy has made the most badass westerns AND my favorite mob movie.
Leone paired with Morricone is overkill.
They make me proud of being italian.
Once upon a time in America is one of the best mafia movies ever.
@NerdyDog I lost it after Fellini, but it's obviously an impressive list.... of workaholics maybe.
@@sullivandmitry1416 I turn it off each time I reach the punch bag scene. I don't know why I bought a copy.
@@sullivandmitry1416 agreed! Though it is not a Mafia movie, it is a gangster movie
Let us never forget the fact that although Sergio was an exceptional filmmaker, his films wouldn’t be nearly as gorgeous and impactful without the magnificent work of the late, great, Ennio Morricone.
I believe being a Sergio Leone fan means you're automatically gonna also be an Ennio Morricone fan
peanut butter and jelly
Very true, but ah, those extreme CLOSE-UPS!!!
No one just forgets Ennio Morricone
Or Akira Kurosawa for "inspiration"
With Sergio Leone, EVERY shot is iconic.
Every shot in Once Upon A Time In The West is beyond stunning, especially the introductions of the main characters.
He made at least 4 of the best films of all time, each arguably better than the last. What a director. Great work, love the new logo!
His five western films are the perfect standard of a western film that still being the inspiration of filmmakers today. Great work. This is a perfect tribute to a legendary composer.
I think the genre of cowboy western is based upon earlier eastern films of the samurai culture. I think this is true, and I think he pays homage to this in his films.
Once upon a time in the west is trash
@@jothishprabu8 It is way too violent a film, and deserves almost no respect with regards its intimate portrayal of violence.
Who needs to see a man being punched to death?
You're far better watching super heroes like James Bond who swing like Tarzan from ridiculous scene to ridiculous scene without so much as a bullet wound from entire mobs of machine gun firing criminal dopes.
I mean come on, who doesn't love a government funded thief with an eye for the ladies?
@@jothishprabu8 hell no
@@L.M1792 his one movie, Fistful of Dollars is based on Yojimbo by director Akira Kurosawa. I love both Leone and Kurosawa movies. Kurosawa also did King Lear and Macbeth set in feudal Japan. While Kurosawa did much with the antihero, Leone brought that character to Westerns. While the antihero showed up rarely, previously the lines between the 'good guy' and the 'bad guy' were very distinct, including the white hat and black hat. We catch glimpses of the antihero in movies like Shane or the Searchers, but Leone perfected it with the "Man with No Name".
The Ecstasy of Gold still remains the most beautiful piece of music ever put to film
Sergio Leone is my absolute favourite director of all time, his wides cut in with extreme close ups, and combined with the scores of Morricone are some of the best ever in my view. The Good, The Bad and the Ugly made me fall in love with cinema.
The Good the Bad and The Ugly is a truly masterpiece great Screenplay and breathtaking Soundtrack... soo beautiful that is loved in the world great man Sergio end Ennio 🇮🇹🙌
Once upon a time, two little kids met in school and became friends.
Little did they know that one of them would have become one of the best Directors ever and the other one of the best Composers ever.
And their combined work gifted the world some of the best Art ever.
Their legacy makes me proud and privileged to share their City.
Did that really happen? They met at school?
@@crweewrc1388 yes they did!
@@crweewrc1388 they attended the same class when they were like 6 or 7 year old; bt they later said they were so young that they did not remember that time when they meet togehter later and started to work together
The problem with Leone is mentally debating which of his movies is THE masterpiece.....Once Upon A Time In America is the greatest gangster movie of all time.....I don’t argue with myself about that
For me he is one of the best directors of all time! He mixed entertainment and art in a masterful way!
The legendary filmmaker would have been 92 years old today! 🙏
Now 95…
One of my favorite filmmakers. His universe, his characters, his techniques were really unique

Hi to whoever make this. Thanks so much for spending ur time editing thess beautiful shots. I'm a 17 years old kid and am a HUGE HUGE fan of Leone's westerns. Last december until this holiday i felt soo much detached from home EVEN when i AM literally home. It's been rough couple weeks, caused by some family matters, and covid things. Until this video came up to my youtube recomendation. I watched it and it satisfied my soul, i felt safe and warmth again. Thanks for letting me feel home once more. This edit helps decreasing my anxious feelings. I appreciate so much for this, deeply loved it. Would be happy to give u sum donation.
Thank you! Take care!
Sergio Leone was the first movie director to make me realize that film directors can also have their own unique "style", just like the best painters, writers, musicians, the best artists.

The beauty of Sergio Leone: shows "The Ugly" multiple times
Just kiding, what a great video. Apreciate the hard work to put all these together
Sergio Leone was by far the most significant figure in the development of the Spaghetti Western in the 1960s, a film genre which simultaneously paid tribute to and subverted many of the conventions established by American film-makers in the preceding decades. His films and their themes continue to resonate deeply in the popular consciousness. His five greatest masterpieces truly defined his cinematic accomplishments.

Happy Birthday Sergio Leone, you are my favorite director and brought me into the world of filmmaking
My most respecting director. Aesthetics,How Cool,Dream. Love you Mr.Leone.
the part of the video with the boys of Once upon a time in America passing the street near the Brooklyn's bridge, with this music is absolutely wonderful .
The Beauty of Sergio Lorne's cinema powered by Ennio Morricone's music. This for me is the best video on this channel. The editing is so good. I watched it twice and had goosebumps for majority of the video.
Gracias
Leone's cinema isn't "powered" by Morricone's music. Leone conceived all of his movies as a whole with the music. Read some books.
One of the greatest filmmakers of all time.
So beautifully done! Rip Ennio Morricone and Sergio Leone. True legends.
Thank you for this gorgeous video, Sergio Leone was and will always be one of the greatest filmmakers. He revolutionalized the spaghetti western industry and ended his career with the sweeping epic Once Upon a time in America. His work will forever and always be beautiful masterpieces, and along with the music of ennio morricone, will never be forgotten. Hope more people would watch this video. Thank you! Amazing choice of music btw.
You can literally screenshot every frame of Sergio movie and it will make a beautiful desktop wallpaper.
I wished he made more movies when he was still alive. Every one of his movies is a masterpiece with once upon a time in America being my favorite Leone movie.
The Oscars owe him an Oscar for directing classics like the good, the bad, and the ugly...
Nobody in Hollywood, and I mean nobody should ever even think to do a remake of any of Sergio Leone’s movies. Leone’s films are timeless and should never be touched.
The duo that is Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone can never be surpassed. Whether it be Spielberg and Williams, Hitchcock and Hermann or Nolan and Zimmer, the six films these two collaborated on are all unforgettable! I firmly believe that Leone and Kubrick began the modern age of filmmaking.
What a legend, such movies can never be repeated
This is terrific! Sergio Leone is one of my all time favorites. I'd like to see The Beauty of Martin Scorsese too :)
Can we appreciate for a moment that Clint Eastwood, Mario Brega, Lee van Cleef, and Eli Wallach, were perfectly typecasted for these movies.
Also Gian Maria Volonté, Claudia Cardinale, Charles Bronson, Henry Fonda, James Woods, Robert de Niro and last but not least Jennifer Connelly.
Sergio Leone and Morricone - Bliss forever! The love for cinema! It all started for me when I saw "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly"
I've been smiling the whole video. What a great video and what two gods were Ennio and Sergio
2:05 the kid skipping syncs up so well! Amazing editing!

Once upon a time in the West is in my opinion the best movie ever made
Without words.

If it wasn’t for Quentin Tarantino I would have never heard of Mister Sergio Leone. Amazing thank you for this ! ❤️
I suggest the Beauty of The Sopranos.
He replied to me in the last video and said it’s coming early 2021.
Early, I don't know, but this year for sure 😅
Oh my god yes
Unforgetable director and music composer - like twins . RIP.
This two guys are unbelivable, what a fucking genius. Thanks a lot for this emotions
Once Upon A Time in the West is hands down the best western ever made, and the soundtrack by Morricone will never be beaten.

As some mom as that music hit, it came like a truck, these movies raised me, they captured the American spirit so well, anyone that wants prosperity can take it, but they need to have a prosperous attitude, especially the good, the bad and the ugly, it didn’t force its ideas on you, it showed its ideas, RIP Sergio, you’ll be missed

LEGEND.
Thank you for existing in my youth
3 minutes and 38 seconds of intense goosebumps!
The fact that he did those things 50 years ago makes him even more special
Sergio Leone has to be one of the few directors in the world to have never made a bad movie. All 7 of his films are top notch with some true epics. Even the Colossus of Rhodes though not up to scratch of his later 6 films was visually stunning and a great first attempt as a leading director
Un bel hommage ! Bravo :)
