Has turnsignals... does not use them in favor of taking hands off controls. I have one of the Sena units. Granted it is a couple years old, but I find the idea they will pick up other units 5 miles away VERY generous. Maybe I am hearing that wrong. I could still hear my riding partner in a parking lot about 150 yards away but it was getting choppy. However, my Sena provides very clear communication, easy switching to music with easy controls, and one button voice controlled phone calls. The noise cancelling also works extremely well. I get the simplicity of just sticking the light to the back of your helmet, but I would imagine just using an accelerometer would be prone to unintended activations or fails to activate. As for these fancy communication devices, LOL! Don't even think of answering a call with one while driving. They distract your concentration on the road and are dangerous. If you want to answer a call or make a call just pull to the side first.
I had a Sena SMH10 from the earliest days and it actually relaxed me and was safer than pulling over to take a call. I won it in a contest so I gave it a go, thinking I would sell it in weeks.
