Can you do a head to head Puma X vs. Apache V3 4th generation?

I agree about the 3D Printed crap. It looks cheap and is cheap. It'd rather have injection-molded plastic. It would save the manufacturer in the long run but expensive to get the molds made.
I'd love this Setup. I think $1700 US is pretty reasonable when you consider good pedals are around $400+ US. A good, VKB Stick adds up to $700 US any day + Desk Mounting Hardware (vs Desktop). A Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle is $300+ US. In this case they've put it all together, albeit with fewer buttons and switches overall but it's all set up to suit the majority of helicopters.

Looks great, i dunno how wealthy one needs to be to buy a enthusiast level helicopter sim setup like that when you can't fly a Heli. You might hate flying choppers, this is like me as a sim racing enthusiast buying the American trucker setup, complete with above head horn. If i sound jealous it's because i am a bit. 😂

anybody who says it needs forcefeedback obviously doesnt fly helis for real. With the frictions set correctly, this thing emulates all helicopters without force trim, up to and including the EC135 that i fly for real. If you are a flight student, using this with Xplane and VR will save you soooo much money learning to hover, thus the 1700 is good value.

just buy a WinWIng orion, and remove the springs and use the dampeners for 1/10th of the price

9:30 your cyclic is a bit high, your forearm should rest on your thigh so you can move your wrist more precisely

Look cool but I am already using a Next Level Pro Flight , and have Thrustmaster TPR and Winwing Orion 2 , I would be interested in juts the Collective and specially with that moving arm it has look solid too but must say the way you are seated now , its far for ideal but yeah cool product :)

Hey Bartman! Nice review and that unit looks pretty nice though the price is a bit much in my opinion. So I have been flying in sims and RL for a long time and my simming experience goes wayyyy back to the Golden Years of Flight Sims! Though I have to admit, these days seem so much more Golden than those did by far. Anyway, I’m sure you’ve heard this a ton already, but just by chance you haven;t here you go. Get yourself a Head Tracker for when you’re not doing VR. It will help you a TON and make the experience so much better. It’s night and day from looking around using the joystick and it will even help you fly better, especially in helicopters. Also, DCS or Digital Combat Simulator is really, really good for flying helicopters. I have flown choppers in MSFS and they just don’t feel right to me compared to flying in DCS helicopters. Plus you can shoot ATGM’s and rockets and of course Guns, which I’m sure you already know! I just couldn’t leave your video without telling you about the head tracker and DCS because I’d hate myself if you didn’t know about them. So, listen if you’re ever looking to fly online with someone give me a shout. I try to fly as much as I can but sometimes can’t due to back issues and I also fly laying down on the bed due to those same back issues! I just setup my HOTAS and everything on the bed & it works fairly well. It’s a pain in the butt to setup every time I want to fly but no big deal. However if I can I’d be honored to fly with you and if you need help with anything or have a question about DCS or whatever, I’m all ears. Can’t promise I’ll know the answer but I’ll try my hardest to get you an answer. So great video and thank you for sharing this. I think the whole thing looks really nice and it was a great review. I appreciate your honesty in sharing the bad along with the good. There’s a lot of sim people out there that won’t do that for fear of making the developer upset, so that was great to hear and I think you did a fair review, from what I can tell. Thanks again and stop on over to my channel and say hello and sub if you feel like it. Cheers!

The only thing I like from this rig is the controller and buttons. I'd strip them off and install them on my rig. This thing looks like it was a test unit and is not fully developed for the market. Way to shaky. Once you start flying heli's proficiently you will see that your ergonomics could have been better and that you will out grow that rig pretty quickly and want something much better.
I fly both fixed and rotary but helicopters are my favorite when it comes to sims.
This is a starter rig to give you a taste of flying helicopters. It's a very good starter rig.

Is there a better starter rig that you recommend for a similar pricepoint?

Hi, we are curious what you mean by "not fully developed" for the market. Our flight controls are being used on the market since close to 20 years. our main developer is a professional pilot himself, and has tested and compared the controls with real flight. we have numerous owners which trained and transferred knowhow succesfully towards their real pilot license. Can you be specific please? thank you, and happy landings.

For that money I would invest in Force Feedback controls. Does all that Puma X does but a a whole lot more. Full control over Damping, Friction and inertia.

A FFB stick alone does not match the Puma package.

I'm Sure you will master this. From a few videos of MSFS on Helicopters I've seen say it is had to setup controls for it. Some say the sim doesn't do Helicopters very good. I DO NOT KNOW if it is true. I only fly in a competitors Combat Sim so I'm sure You know way more then I do about all things with MSFS. My other SIN is I only fly in VR because my BRAIN loves the 3D Depth Perception It can not get from flatscreen. Flying a helicopter is kind of like balancing a ball on your finger tip but your inside the ball flying it at the same time. If you Crash it with NO damage it is OKAY it means you just landed it like a normal pilot would. Best of Luck Try the Huey small helicopters are squirrely and harder to fly for a starter ship. Very small VERY SMALL as in V.E.R.Y. Small Slow input in the cyclic is needed. VERY SLOW Collective input to see if the ship starts to spin right or left so you know before lift off what rotor peddle Port or Starboard side you will need to give and how much. Then very small amount more Collective to see if the nose tilts up = back Aft movement or down = forward movement right at the second lift is achieved. This way you know if your Cyclic stick is to far forward or to far aft. You need to Hover no forward or Aft movement on takeoffs Learn to Hover First 5 to 7 feet off the ground. I would like to Try this System out it just looks so Cool to use. Thanks for the Awesome Video Share.

Funny that for around this price, you could get FFB cyclic and FFB antitorque pedals, and it's miles ahead of the Puma's, well overpriced for sure.

    • @BartmansBits

I understand the FFB cyclic now that some new cheaper models have released but are there cheaper FFB pedals?

@@BartmansBits Yeah, and it has been around for a while. I'm referring to !ffbeast and Rhino. You can DIY it for even less or buy from people who are building it, but of course, there’s a waiting time.

Anybody watching this don’t buy it. I bought one and from day one the throttle never worked. I ignored it. Then the pedals just randomly stopped calibrating. I emailed support and they just said it’s window issues. Biggest waste of money ever.
