I'm looking to build a dedicated helicopter rig (DCS) & have not decided on what peripherals I'll purchase. This was helpful. Is there an advantage to having dual throttles on a collective? Did you use any assists during this test?
Good deal, I'd say only helpful if you're using a twin engine. I don't usually fly em, so I just use the 1 most of the time. And no assists usually, unless it's a big helicopter with actual assists.

Understanding you probably haven't had a ton of time behind the new version, but what are your thoughts regarding the need for dampers on the latest release? I just ordered mine. Hope your hand is doing well, Semper Fi.
Raaah! Thanks for the comment. Hand is doing better. Getting strength back in it. I haven't stuck the dampers on yet. I think I'm going to put it on the pedals only. It's a great unit! You'll enjoy.

Do you have a full list of everything you have for a full set up for your flight simulator? I received the Puma X2 2 years ago for a bday present to start setting up a flight Sim in my home. Unfortunately, before the Puma arrived I was in a car crash that took me out for the past 2 years. 4 surgeries later and now I would like finish the proper set up for my Helicopter flight Sim at home. Where did you get your seat? What software do you use? What is your computer set up? I have VR which I got as another gift 2 years ago but would like to have a computer set up with three screens or more as well if possible. Do you have that type of setup as well as VR? I am fairly green as they come in my knowledge base of all it takes to get a good quality flight Sim like I want. Your shared knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
First of all, sorry to hear about the delays and injuries and glad you're back at it. I got my seat off eBay, I believe (maybe amazon) for around $100 USD. Same product most likely. I mounted it to a Lowe's stool. As far as software, I use DCS World, X-Plane 12 and MSFS 2020. My PC is an RTX 2080ti, i9 9900 Processor, 1TB SSD. VR in my opinion, you don't need multi screens. Maybe 2 just to keep a good flow, but only 1 is necessary. I use the Oculus Rift now, but upgrading soon when I make a decision. (Thinking maybe Pimax) I also use the Honeycomb setup for airplanes.

So much so that it's made me question if I am supposed to achieve this dream at all.....BUT the desire and passion to fly never leaves my heart.....it's been in me since I was 19 and I am now 58! How crazy is it that I have yet to achieve this goal in so many years. I really really do want to attain this hearts desire.....so believing God put the desire there then He will provide the way in His perfect timing (not mine). I AM A PILOT in my core!! This mind and body just has to Get Er Done. Your videos and knowledge along with many others is helping me to move toward this slowly but surely, THANK YOU for your willingness to share your knowledge. Ya know, I searched for it again because so many folks have asked about it and I can't find it. It had yellow feet on it. I'll try and search again. It's quite sturdy
I am a bit of a newbie with dcs and looking to get back into it after many years. Did the joystick have enough buttons to use the blackshark or apache? Is there a mount for a keyboard and mouse anywhere?
It's all good for aerodynamics, and learning the muscle memory. I'd suggest the r22 in X-Plane. Just to get familiar with the way everything looks. Also reacts well
@JoshuaHambyOfficial yeah I'm having a hard time implementing left peddal and right pedal when necessary in real flight. Its just taking me longer and more $$$ to make things come natural. maybe this could help in the muscle memory etc.
That is one, and only good reason that every joystick or collective grip would have same connectors and threads, that you could swap them around. But that is where it ends.

What chair and stand is in the video? Does it pair well with the Puma x2 or do you suggest another set up?
It's just a $100 ebay or Amazon special attached to a metal foot stool. Yea it works well. Mounted the Puma to the base of it

Cool thing is, it has a modifier switch on the collective that allows 3 different sets of controls!
Did you figure out how to put dampers on the cyclic?
I never messed with it really. The PFT frictions are all it really needs.

Yea it'll definitely save you money. With the R22 it'll eventually become natural to pull collective will left pedal and vice versa
