I love how Patrick does not demonstrate that guitar like a tele. 99% of the tele demos on youtube are country songs only. I recently ordered this guitar and really wanted to hear how other styles of music would sound with it! Great Job!!

Love the Strat sound with the center pickup, noiseless pickups, 6 saddle bridge, locking tuners, contoured heel and more. This MIM guitar will surprise you with its playability and save you some $$$ compared to like features found on the Ultra.

I've always loved Nashville Teles. The new pickups sound great in this demo, and I like the idea of a 12" radius! Just needs a bender on it and it'd be absolute perfection.
I just added a mini toggle switch in between the volume and tone knobs for the "neck on" mod so I can get the neck and bridge combination too. Should've came with this mod originally
That 4th position is basically a Mayer tone and the 2nd position is a twangier version of the 2nd on the strat. This is basically a tele with both strat and tele tones and I want one
+Danny Weiss Did you have a chance to watch my unboxing/mini-review video? In summary, I think it's a very cool concept, with high build quality. From a critical standpoint, I wasn't too fond of the noiseless pickups. They're a bit sterile, albeit completely noiseless. My only other criticisms are the bridge, the headstock finish, and the new Fender logo. As for the bridge, mine required the low e string saddle to moved so far back that the height adjustment screws sat on top of the bridge plate mounting screw when it was properly intonated. As far as the face of the headstock, it is unfinished like the back of the neck. Unfortunately this somewhat "cheapens" the look and is reminiscent of an entry model Squier. The new logo doesn't help matters, as its large size and color is also similar to Squier. From a perfectionist standpoint, this guitar is about 90% there when you consider the $800 price tag. If it were a bit cheaper, I would easily overlook these aspects. Vintage tall frets were nice, and as I mentioned, very nice build quality.
Thank you for the video and your detailed thoughts! Good to know re: the intonation issue. I think on balance, the versatility, 12" radius, price and finish (2 tone sunburst, maple neck) are going to make this a go for me this fall.
Excellent and highly informative demo guys. Some gorgeous tones here....real ear candy from this beautiful Telecaster. I look forward to checking out one of these Deluxe models in store very soon....somehow I can already feel my Fender guitar stable is going to be getting a little larger ;) Thanks to Fender for giving working guitar players in the real world, like me, a chance to own and enjoy such great instruments.
I have one that looks just like this. Harley Davidson had them as part of their black collection a few years back. They came in black and brown. Very cool jacket.
Just purchased this very guitar from Thomann in Germany. Will get it next week! From this demo it sure sounds awesome! I just hope the build quality is ok. BTW, this is me first time buying a Fender after years of playing cheap brands. Awesome... and I don’t mind at all him sounding like John Mayer because John Mayer is truly the new archetype of what we expect from an American contemporary blues guitarist. Sounds great. Pure Fender tone.
Nah, Texas Specials into it, add classic tele middle position instead of the middle pickup alone and it woud be greatest guitar in the world. Plus "in series" and "parallel" switch. I got mine wired that way in daphne blue and it´s awesome. Personally i hate how strats look but love their kind of sounds, so this guitar was my dream. I've a Deluxe Nashville Power Tele. I thought it was a combo of Strat/Tele combo. Close, but no cigar. Being a fan of low impedance pups (spanky twang please), this guitar is too hot for the music I'm playing now. I'm turning it into a 2 pickup, early 50's Tele, keeping the Fishman bridge.... which should work out really well for the band I'm in now. If I want Strat sounds.... I've a Strat for that. For those who want/need all those sounds, this is an amazing instrument... a Swiss Army knife of guitars.... so many voices.... but there are compromises... not many, but there are.
The Nashville has a flatter radius so there's going to be in pretty big difference in the way the neck plays . The special has the hotter Texas special pick ups and the Nashville has the lower output vintage noiseless pick ups . Vintage bridge versus modern bridge pretty big difference there . You're really comparing apples and oranges here . It all depends on what kind of sound you're looking for what kind of music do you play if you're looking for a hard rock type of sound I go with the special although the Nashville sounds pretty damn good with an overdrive pedal you really have to play them and see which one you like better . I have to say that the Nashville is a little bit more versatile with the third pick up and the five switch positions. You're not gonna get the real traditional telecaster sound out of the Nashville but you're not gonna get that with the special either because of the hot pick ups.
the neck is typically a lot wider towards the lower frets making it more difficult to play down there, i had a guitar with narrow frets and it was a lot easier and more comfortable to play lower
@@polinalewis1769 Ok, thanks. I can see how that makes sense now (tho’ I think you mean *higher* rather than lower - *up* the neck, where there’s less space between them).
