Gotta say, the long hair with the bandana thing was a pretty cool look. Thrasher meets vatto. But ya, if suicidal looked like the dixie chicks I would still love their sound.
Suicidal 4 Life! Have been lucky enough to see them live three times in the 80's, few times in the 90's, then again in 2010 & 2015 (can't believe it's been that long.) Hope to catch them again soon so Mike can sign my "You Can't Bring Me Down" chest tattoo.
Rocky George is probably the most underrated metal guitar player ever! And probably because the way he looked. I am positive that if Rocky was a long haired more metal looking white guy, he would have gotten more recognition for his work. He is definably better than many of the metal guitar players from his time, that probably got more recognition because of their looks or the bands.
I think the same goes for ST. And i praise Mike and the guys for dressing the way they like regardless of what others think. Cause i am pretty sure if they wore leather jackets long hair, spikes, mohawks, they would have become more popular (not to say it wouldn't be cool as well cause it would). But thanks guys for keeping it real! SxTx for Life \m/
There not crops you idiot do they look black? Rumor is and just that a rumor they had band members apart of Venice 13 a Mexican gang jeez why comment if you don’t know what the fuck your talking about they started off as a skate band in the 80s and that’s the style from Venice and northern Cali not strange to see whiteboys in penaltons and bandanas and tan chinos you can tell your from a whole other world.
Speaking for myself as a long hsired leather jakket wearing white dide who grew up on suicidal as a young boy- The multiracial band astetik is one of the things that really kaight my attention. My first konzert when i was 12 was Suicidal. I was looking all over for Rokky George but to no avail. Unknown to me at the time st had already changed the line up. I was hella bummed.
This band truly Californian, these people don't know what they were going through, that reflected on the scarf on their face... for sure more living and rocking for this band than many other meaningless bands.
Suicidal is fucking awesome! I'm a huge fan of Power Metal and Progressive, but something about Suicidal I just fucking LOVE! To me they're progressive punk/thrash, if that makes any sense. Mike's attitude really intrigues me every time I hear him speak. Would've been cool to be a teen when they were up and rising.
***** The ST fans I was referring to weren't even skaters - they were predominantly Mexican homie/gang-banger types. For some reason, Suicidal attracted a lot of those, probably because they had Latinos in the band and wore bandanas. And Mike Muir had that homeboy-style image and way of talking in the early days.
Both my Irish immigrant parents thought for sure I was on drugs as a 14yr old kid in 1987 in NYC listening to a band called ST. Lol. I guess looking back I don't blame them.
Just found out I'm related to Mike clark, and Robert clark, my dad Bryan Clark Sr. Had 2 kids when he was 22, there father, are father would be 81 if he was still alive, I'd like to reach out and get a hold of Mike clark, they need to know they have 2 brothers in the world.
Fell in love with her in Death Race 2000 (1975,) then Rock 'n' Roll High School (with The Ramones 1979) & again in The Devil's Rejects (2005',) and literally over a hundred other movies/tv shows. She is awesome.
power hour. Fuck i was 13. you got lucky if there was 2 thrash metal videos a week. Maybe a hardcore band 2times in a year. DRI or Cro-Mags. Those spoiled brats today with youtube. Probably why there so many shitty bands now. To much information.
Nah the rat tail was fire finna get one myself but their image doesn't matter what matters is the music, but i can't lie long hair my lowkey cute 👅👅🙏🙏🙏😳😳😳
Trump would’ve loved him since they were all for free speech, unlike Democrat mayor Tom Bradley who banned them from playing in LA during the mid to late 80’s. Oh, and let’s not forget Al Gores wife Tipper and her band of Karen’s, who also censored record labels who signed on metal and thrash bands like ST?
PH: Tell me about the bandanas. MM: Well, I have an unpredictable menstrual cycle & I bled all over the stage during a live show once, so I like to keep a rag handy at all times. I always wear a blue bandana because it turns a real gay purple when I soak it up with the bright red blood from my snatch.
his lyrics are literally just how he talks. thats awesome
thats what i love most about him
@@AV9000x I really like that part.👍

i agree, rocky is amazing and always smiling. you hear a lot of the same elements that you heard with dimebag years later.

Plenty of long haired White boys suck. Does that somehow make it better? Leave to the racist to ALWAYS bring race into the fray.

Classic interview still relevant today
The first Suicidal Tendencies album the self titled was the reason I got into Hardcore Punk when I was 13 and later skateboarding :-)

I was. Never went to see them live though because a lot of their fans in the LA area back then were violent gang member types.

Bring back Rocky George

Back in the 80’s everyone at shows knew who the Suis were. If they didn’t they found out real quick.
Suicidal Gang since 1980.
"No, you're not thinking, you're on drugs!"

They had to put The in front of every band name back then. No matter if the was in there name or not. It sounds hilarious.
I like how he kinda downplays what the bandana is
I try to just ignore their image and just enjoy the music.
Yo why Mike look so breedable here 😭😭🙏🙏🙏

O_O WTF IS MECHAGODZILLA DOING HERE
That bandana is cool but I'm pretty sure he sacrificed clear vision for style.
U can see just keep your head up at all times never hang your head low
I got my bandana
how the hell did she find "trip at the brain" offensive?
yeah, don't let her hear goin breakdown...
Mike could have been a librarian instead of a musician but that would be unfortunate for us.
" we always had long hair so the bandana kept it out of our face" shows a video where he has short hair lol j/k -Cycoz por vida-

What the fuck is even remotely offensive about the Trip at the Brain video? I am highly offended by that statement! :-P

+SuryaDas 1988 was a different time
+Joseph Sullivan True indeed. I was born in 1969 and my original post was only in jest. =)
1988. It must have offended Tipper Gore and several other Senators' wives at the time.
Mike Muir looks high.
I was their roadie from 2010 to 2014 Mike has never done a drug or drank in his life
*_Crossover Thrash!_*
He'a totally on coke
Wrong! As a promise to his dad he's never done drugs or drank.
Nah this guy is a fan of Pepsi.
