It was painful to see Lemmy at this stage. I saw the band in San Francisco right before this interview. When they came walking onto the stage, I saw Lem, he looked so frail, and I had the thought..."This is the last time I'm going to see this band." And that realization made it both the best and worst show of my life.
To have experienced life when Lemmy was the man, i'm privileged - saw him in Brussels March 81 - missed 2 gigs and am devastated to this day. What a legend of a man - Motorheadbangers for life - this interview makes me sad but to see Lemmy happy and jovial gives me some respite - RIP the Main man
Great sense of humor till the end. Wisdom, and never once did I hear Lemmy say he was feeling sorry for himself even when he was like this. I miss that guy.
A moment i will never forget as a little kid seeing lemmy play at wrestle mania when triple h came to the ring. I know not very rock n roll way to get into heavy music but it was my start and this man opened it up for me. Such a lovely genuine bloke who knew what he was and what he was doing.

God he was shook here I would think he didn't last much longer after this rip lemmy pure legend. I see now it was only a month later. Although he hardly had the strength to talk his intelligence still shines true very clever speaker till the end.
He did exceptionally well to reach 70 years considering the amount of JD he put away; he had a great time though and was certainly more concerned with living wide than living long. He seemed very down to earth for a rock star, his wit was razor sharp and he was a very articulate/intelligent guy. RIP Lemmy, you legend.
After all these years, I FINALLY got to see Motorhead while thy were on their American Tour {September 2015}. He only had three months to live and looked it too when I saw him. Very little if any of the old energy that Lemmy was known for, but I could understand, I think we all knew this would be the last time we would see him. The fact that he took the stage at all was amazing. Sadly missed, Phil Taylor too. Now I hear Eddie Clark is in the final stages of lung disease and will no longer tour or record. All my favorite rockers are going away. Sad.
He was one of a kind, there will never be another Lemmy or Motörhead. I wish I had a chance to see them at least once in my life but I can listen to their music anytime. I hope their music never disappears because this generation desperately needs their sound to remind them what pure Rock / Metal sounds like.
I was lucky enough to see Motorhead quite a few times and, as a fellow fan of their music I'd love to give you a chance to get somewhere near the live experience of Motorhead. This might sound crazy, but go with me. You either need to blast it through a massive PA system to listen to it or, as I'm guessing that you don't have a small stadium quality PA in your living room, get a big set of headphones that cover your ears, a pedestal fan and if you can find something to stand on that vibrates you're in business. Now, turn up your stereo to max and listen to No Sleep Til Hammersmith all the way through with the fan on full tilt blasting at your clothes and the floor shaking underneath your feet. When the album is finished, remove headphones and switch everything off. If you've done everything correctly your ears should now ring and hiss for the next 5-7 days and communication with the rest of the human race should be a huge challenge until around day 2 and a bit when you give up entirely and just become a recluse listening to more Motorhead and drinking at home. This has been a public information broadcast on behalf of Motorhead fans everywhere, enjoy 😆 🤘
No matter how old or sick he got he was still himself until he and his band was no more. An honour and a privilege to know you , Lemmy. See you sometime......but not now x
Hard to watch. A very loveable man, who had shown the world that.. yes you can make it in a world that doesn't want you there. God be with you Lemmy. May God bless the interviewr too.
The thought of Lemmy at the poker machine at the Rainbow or on stage murdering ears was such a great feeling. This Man Was Great. He will live forever.
I did an interview with Lemmy back in late 1972 for my university radio station. He was the "new guy" in Hawkwind and was chosen to put up with my inexperience. He did it gladly and we drank a bottle of wine together. One of the highlights of my life along with meeting Queen. I was terribly sad when he passed away.
The official story is he was diagnosed 2 days before his death. However, it was pretty obvious long before that. He received a lifetime award for services to bass in November 2015 and looked incredibly frail then.
Thank you very much for uplöading this, I'm stuck in a pretty rough spot at the moment at à physical therapy/old folk's home with only my friends to sneak me in a drink once in a great while(not enough) and your post really cheered me up quite a bit. Lemmy knew the answer to obvious, and so humble, everything he said makes so much sense, ask him a question and he comes back with the most literal obvious answer, he is one of my "if you could have dinner with anyone past and present who would it be" questions, Lemmy.
So sad that this happened to Lemmy he looks so exhausted bless him 🙏🏻 I’m so glad I lived when lemmy was still around and thank god for his music always will be a legend 🙏🏻💙
His death shocked me, but after seeing this it isn't all that suprising that he died. Look at him; he's old and frail. Compared to how he looked in 2013 (2 years prior) he looks like he's aged 10 years.
@James Henderson goes to show how many loved Lemmy...does anyone love you.? And please be honest (which we all know you would just bullsh*t) anyway.! 😂
I was blessed to have been able to see Motorhead play in Las Vegas at the house of blues. It was one of the last shows Lemmy did before he passed. Lemmy always had this image of being a tough guy. That night reality struck. Lemmy looked very pale and ill. He barely moved on stage. His speaking voice was weak. I am a lifelong Motorhead fan. I had to leave the show early because it upset me that my idol was dying right before my eyes. a sobering thought came to me. Nobody cheats death. Get right with your maker while you still can. Life is short and eternity is forever. Peace.
My son was there, too. Before this, for years, used to see Lemmy hanging out at the Palms, playing video slots. My son had to clue me in as to who he was, but stood out in the crowd, for sure.
this is the first time i've watched the complete interview and all i would say is what a man! so dignified and unrepentant and a gentleman to the end, lemmy was everything true rock n roll is about, it's over now sadly but all good things must end, we'll never see his like again, how could we? that fantastic 50's/60's era that he came from is long gone, he is now a legend alongside his own idols like little richard, john lennon buddy holly and gene vincent, RIP lemmy and thank you
Everybody is close to the death. Lemmy lived life in the way he lived life in the way that gave him pleasure and did more than 95% of human beings and did it until he couldn't do it anymore, shared the best he knew how to do and that was so good that it is a world heritage site forever.

you can tell how great of a person he really was/is ( I hate using past tense because I feel like his spirit still lives on ). Rest in Paradise
it's Miriam. It's heaven
He lives on through his son, the friends he made in his life and the music he created.
@@Hugh_Morris Absolutely. As long as we keep listening to his music, he isn't really dead.
Always loved Lemmy’s brutal honesty. Sadly missed.
Lemmy looked so gaunt and sick here. Really sad to see him like this. Motörhead forever! RIP Lemmy no more pain :)
Ii bought the No Remorse leather bound in the 80’s and saw Lemmy and the boys in Melbourne in 1982 at The Venue in St Kilda. What a gig!! Thanks Lemmy
a real sensitive deep rock soul. God bless your intense soul Mr Kilmister. An orthodox Christian from Cyprus.
It was painful to see Lemmy at this stage. I saw the band in San Francisco right before this interview. When they came walking onto the stage, I saw Lem, he looked so frail, and I had the thought..."This is the last time I'm going to see this band." And that realization made it both the best and worst show of my life.
Saw that show at the Warfield and knew it was probably the last time owing to the fact that Lem was wearing gum soled creepers instead of boots.....
The English way…
No regrets!
I can really so how sick he was in this interview looks bad but he was the best RIP LEMMY .
A true legend. Some might say he looks like he's at the end, but he lived 100 lives by this point.
A moment i will never forget as a little kid seeing lemmy play at wrestle mania when triple h came to the ring. I know not very rock n roll way to get into heavy music but it was my start and this man opened it up for me. Such a lovely genuine bloke who knew what he was and what he was doing.
Proper old school gent, down to earth, genuine and honest. Today people are so fake and full of themselves. RIP Lem, thanks for the journey and the music.
Ive followed motorhead since around 1980 and saw them many times and met lemmy once....through my darkest hours there music has pulled me through it all....this interview tells everyone what kind of man he was...smart...intelligent..funny.. honest and engaging really miss the guy but also proud he comes from my country england too...gone but never forgotten
I don't know if he ever had any grandchildren, but by God he'd be the most badass grandfather of all time
I loved this guy. Spoke his mind and gave his opinion. He was who he was and that is how I love people to be. People can love you, like you or hate you but at the end of the day you are being you. Was devastated when Lemmy died, but by god did he leave the best music with us. RIP Lemmy, you truly were a one off.
Poor Lemmy, not looking great because of the cancer. He Iived his life his way. RIP gone but NEVER forgotten 🙄
what type of cancer he had ?
Prostate, also cardiac arrhythmia
He was diabetic ...he didnt have cancer
@@rhondagreen1465 He had prostate cancer, cardiac arrhythmia and congestive heart failure. Those combined with Type II diabetes and alcohol is like kryptonite
Top bloke. Lived in same street for a while in the late 80’s. He was always taking the piss out of us when we bumped into him but he was only joking around and he was funny.. THE WORLD NEEDS MORE LEMMY’S AND LESS LEMMINGS!
God he was shook here I would think he didn't last much longer after this rip lemmy pure legend. I see now it was only a month later. Although he hardly had the strength to talk his intelligence still shines true very clever speaker till the end.
he died about 3 weeks later :(
Lemmy your body may be gone but you will live on forever through your music. Rest easy now...
must admit i tear up a bit every time i watch this. he looked so frail.
Lemmy rock on ✌️🎸🎛️🎛️
He did exceptionally well to reach 70 years considering the amount of JD he put away; he had a great time though and was certainly more concerned with living wide than living long. He seemed very down to earth for a rock star, his wit was razor sharp and he was a very articulate/intelligent guy. RIP Lemmy, you legend.
Shit....not just JD
"Would you always continue performing?"
"What until after death? No!"
Legend.
That last laugh is like "Death? Meh, lt is just another nap for me." What a fuckin legend.
Sad.
My friend saw that final tour and he said it was hard to watch. Lemmy was struggling
Legend I'm bummed out that i will never get the chance to see motorhead live or meet lemmy:(
The same... :(
Same for me, they were my dream gig n he’s one of my heroes
Trashy Thrasher same 🙁
He was one of a kind, there will never be another Lemmy or Motörhead.
"Arseholes, cowards"; says it all. RIP, Big Man.
kinda resumes the french also though
I love this guy. Always had time for everyone. Miss him man
Man it hurts seeing lem like this 😭 he didnt let anything get to him 🤘 born to lose lives to win. Rock and rolls biggest icon. RIP lemmy 🖤🤘
What a fantastic story, thank you
wow, thats awesome. thanks for sharing
"But one thing you will never lose
Is the singing in your head
That will still be with you till the end"
Rest in peace, Lemmy.
:'(
Lemmy!
Amazing that he didn’t know he was dying at this point. Dude held his head up all the way to the end. Long live LEMMY!
I'm sure he did
Sure he did- are you kidding me? He knew he had cancer. You can see it in his eyes. He knew he had a great run that was winding down.
The official story is he was diagnosed 2 days before his death. However, it was pretty obvious long before that. He received a lifetime award for services to bass in November 2015 and looked incredibly frail then.
I'm so lucky to have seen them so many times. RIP Ian Lemmy
Thank you very much for uplöading this, I'm stuck in a pretty rough spot at the moment at à physical therapy/old folk's home with only my friends to sneak me in a drink once in a great while(not enough) and your post really cheered me up quite a bit.
Chëërs!
Tim "The Fresh Prince of Darkness" Ficker
Lemmy is a shining example of how to live life. We are only here for a brief period - make the most of it 🤘
when told how many months he had to live (2-6mos), his calm response: "Oh, only two months, huh?" legend
Is that true?
It was only 2 days...😕
And then died 2 days after being told the news. Talk about going out on your own terms! RIP LEMMY!
@@JoeMastronardo yes it is
The world misses you old fellow. Thanks you for a lifetime of great tunes man. Fucking rock and roll.
this is gut wrenching but you could still see him trying to charm the interviewer
He's lived his life to the fullest, he wore himself out. RIP
Yes & He's Not Hiding It, He's open & Telling His fans His Ending Story
Lemmy knew the answer to obvious, and so humble, everything he said makes so much sense, ask him a question and he comes back with the most literal obvious answer, he is one of my "if you could have dinner with anyone past and present who would it be" questions, Lemmy.
So sad that this happened to Lemmy he looks so exhausted bless him 🙏🏻 I’m so glad I lived when lemmy was still around and thank god for his music always will be a legend 🙏🏻💙
I saw Lemmy perform in person, Motorhead never dies!
RIP Lemmy your a legend
Lemmy was a fantastic musician and singer but also a nice, intelligent man, with a great sense of humor. Thank you for this priceless interview!
He went out with his boots on. Lemmy to the end.
To Quote iron maiden lol
" if you're gonna Die...
Die with your boots on! "
Lemmy had such a pure soul, loud and fast and fuck the haters. A true rock and roller.
Truly one of the most amazing people to impact the world. So happy I got to see them live. All my love and respect to you Sir. RIP.
His death shocked me, but after seeing this it isn't all that suprising that he died. Look at him; he's old and frail. Compared to how he looked in 2013 (2 years prior) he looks like he's aged 10 years.
Crazy how quick he wasted away, he did what he loved till the end though so cant fault him
you're probably a liberal ANTIFA member. Get a brick thrown at your head.
@James Henderson You will know what Karma is when Karma gets you , mpos!
@James Henderson goes to show how many loved Lemmy...does anyone love you.? And please be honest (which we all know you would just bullsh*t) anyway.! 😂
@@WTFwork12 god i wished we all lived in a same town or country where public stoning is a sentence. I'd wait for this knob just to f*ck up.!😉😎🤘
There will never be another. As I get older I think I understand Lemmy more and more. We miss ya brother.
At least he was at peace with himself before the end. No regrets, no bullshit, just at peace with his life and choices.
Lemmy told ozzy he could of lived to 80 he if hadnt drank this or smoke that but he enjoyed his life
As much as I love Lemmy, this genuinely hurts to watch. Thank you so much for the music Lemmy 🤘🏻 🍻
so sad to see him like that really miss him alot ,no one has that voice and that look ,he was so awesome
why sad? how many people reach their final days with that amount of humor, composure, intelligence and cojones?
Love you man! We are Motorhead - thanks for all you did!
Lemmy forever. Wise man.
this is the first time i've watched the complete interview and all i would say is what a man! so dignified and unrepentant and a gentleman to the end, lemmy was everything true rock n roll is about, it's over now sadly but all good things must end, we'll never see his like again, how could we? that fantastic 50's/60's era that he came from is long gone, he is now a legend alongside his own idols like little richard, john lennon buddy holly and gene vincent, RIP lemmy and thank you
That laugh at the end was golden. Dying of cancer but still had that glint in his eye🤟
Che tristezza vedere il nostro Lemmy così. R.I.P. sarai comunque sempre con noi
Everybody is close to the death. Lemmy lived life in the way he lived life in the way that gave him pleasure and did more than 95% of human beings and did it until he couldn't do it anymore, shared the best he knew how to do and that was so good that it is a world heritage site forever.
One of my metal heroes. Brave and honest and STRONG. R.I.P Lemmy 🤘
Lemmy, was one of the greatest. They say never meet your heroes, but I did meet Lemmy and he was fucking brilliant.
