    DESCRIPTION:
    Now I know what you guys are thinking, beards are hot, why would I grow it in the summer? In fact, many guys choose to shave their beard off in the summer in hopes of staying a bit cooler, only to grow their beard again in the fall or winter.
    Well, what if I told you that your beard can actually keep your face cooler, AND that your beard can grow significantly faster in the summer months?
    Let me break it down for you...
    Your beard does in fact protect your face in the winter and keep your face warm. But it actually does the exact opposite in the summer! Your beard serves as a shield to block the sun from your face. In fact, studies show that your beard can actually block up to 98% of the suns UV rays!
    Now that's not to say you won't sweat but let's be honest, you're going to sweat this summer whether you have a beard or not.
    If that's not reason enough for you to keep your beard or grow your beard in the summer, your beard grows faster in the summer!
    Why?
    The primary reason is due to increased natural testosterone production! Testosterone is one of the key components in full, fast and healthy beard growth. The reason your testosterone is spiked in the summer is because of the increased physical activity most people experience. The weather is nicer so most people are outside much more which can boost your test levels.
    Secondly, because you're outside you are exposed to Vitamin D! Vitamin D has a great impact on your beard growth as well so soak it up!
    For these reasons, we recommend you grow a beard in the summer, especially if you are looking to have a seriously impressive beard this fall and winter. Get a heard start on your beard growth and really rock an epic beard this winter!!
    Keep in mind, if you are sweating, jumping in and out of pools and oceans, make sure you keep your beard clean and moisturized DAILY!! It's extra critical in the summer months so pick up some beard wash, beard oil and beard butter to keep your beard looking, feeling, growing and smelling GREAT!

    I think you failed to mention that when you have a smooth face your sweat will drip off your face. With a beard, it stays on the face, giving it time to evaporate and provide that cooling effect by the latent heat change of state from liquid to vapor causing the heat to leave your body.

    I need to know the secret of keeping your beard nice when it's hot as hell and humid to boot. I live in GA and straighten my beard in the morning and get it all nice. 10 minutes after I get to work in the warehouse I look like a french poodle. Frizz city.

    • @Mike-hw5jp
      @Mike-hw5jp 5 років тому +1

      Hard to say as I live in a very dry climate. I'm no expert but things to avoid are plastic combs or any comb that causes a lot of friction through your beard as it will increase static. Also experiment with different butters and balms, you may just need a bit more hold, I make my own at home.

    • @lutherwatson6282
      @lutherwatson6282 5 років тому +1

      Beard balm! Apply ample amount and adjust accordingly. Comb daily.

    • @livebearded
      @livebearded  5 років тому +1

      While a lot of the team live in AZ, I happen to live in Missouri where there's much more humidity than beer, and there's a TON of beer! Unfortunately sometimes it's the nature of the beast being out in this climate. The beard butter usually works best if used before you blow dry, I have found, and then hit your beard with just a little splash of oil afterwards for some added protection. While this won't keep it perfect all day, especially in a warehouse setting, I think this could help keep your beast of a beard from going buck wild at work. Also, as your beard gets longer, gravity will naturally take over and help as well. Keep rocking and rolling bro! Cheers!

    Would sweat actually help keep your beard and skin healthier (as long as you're not letting it get gross) because of the increased sebum/natural oils that get released through sweat?

    • @livebearded
      @livebearded  2 роки тому

      Yes, and no. Because sweat will dry eventually, which can in turn dry out the beard..and well quite frankly smell bad if your moisturizing with sweat. As the beard grows, the hair is pulling the natural oils away from the skin. Which is why beard oil does what it does to replenish it. Some people need, some dont!

    • @livebearded

      Depends on a lot of things. Do you work outside or have a high demand job like construction, etc? Start with daily, if you feel your beard is dry and wiry, move to 5 days and so on. Also, make sure you are using a wash that has no chemicals in it as it will destroy your beard over time.
