    A small handheld mirror is a beardsmans best friend when trimming your side profile!

    I haven't trimmed my beard (except stache , i keep above top lip) for nearly a year , it looks long , thick , full & healthy and i have no fly aways.
    I'm not trimming my precious mane for another year , then i'll see how much length i have.
    My current length is pretty much just about touching the top of pectorals .
    INFO - You should never trim fly aways or shorter hairs as they are hairs on new life cycles , when longer hairs reach their life cycle and fall out you will be in serious bother if you had previously trimmed those fly aways.

    I’ve been growing a beard in some form since I was in High School. Went to graduation with a full Grizzly Addams beard🤣. There were periods of baby face in between. Surprisingly I have never had a barber or anyone other than myself trim my beard. It would definitely be easier to have another set of eyes when trimming but as long as you go slow like you said and never “chase a mistake” you’ll do fine. Videos like this are what helped me tighten up my game after I went full “yeard” 5 or so years ago. That first trim of the full wizard beard was frightening but after taking 6 inches off and realizing it was still “long” in most people’s opinion was eye opening. It’s funny how attached you become to that growth 🤣.

    Could you guys do a video about how to deal with side burns for bearded bald men? For a long time I've just cut my sideburns off but I would like to bring them back, just not sure how to make it look right with a bald head. Thanks guys, love your videos, keep up the good work!

    • @livebearded
      @livebearded  5 років тому +1

      Usually it's a good rule of thumb to square them off even with where your ear meets the side of your face. The fade itself is just preference on how thick or close you wish your sideburns to be. We have a video tutorial on how to fade your sideburns, you can still use that method for a bald head as well! 💪🏻

    I did 1 of the thing you was on about and yes your right I trimmed mine under the chin and made it look thin and horrible so I left alone for a few months and I don't know what went wrong but it didn't grow back proply so I did the none best thing and had a clean shave with a cut-throat razor and now it's looking really good.
    Really good advice my beard men 👍👍

    2:55 I disagree, plenty of guys go with a straight down not too curved line. Check out some of the tutorials on “Great British barber bash” channel. Obviously not going overboard, but a straight down square line can look bad ass if you do it right.

    Might be good to have a bit more lighting and use a light-colored barber cloth, to make it easier to see what's happening. A dark beard on a dark cloth in a not-very-bright room makes it a bit hard to see.
