Frequency is a relative thing. Everyone is different. I used to be a daily beard washer and my beard was very dry. I went to co-washing daily with only a weekly use of beard wash and the difference is amazing. The texture of my beard improved dramatically.
I might be one of the only people here who's too young to grow a beard, but often gives older people who have beards, advice for their beards, all thanks to this fantabulous channel.

@@thecarnaticmahesh The key is to let grow what you have, even if at first it looks sparse. My brother has an issue with shaving after a few weeks because he doesn't see much growth, but you gotta get past that. I did, and now I have a yeard and my brother has a babyface :P.

@@thecarnaticmahesh 15? That's an early beard right there. Happens quicker than you think. By 19, all I could do was sideburns and a chin, and now at 21 I can pull off a yeard. Even Jack Milocco I think is only 23. You might be growing a yeard by 18!
I've washed my beard everyday for 22 years. Looks, feels and smells phenomenal. Works for me. Might not work for you. If it works for You, keep doing it. If it doesn't....reduce it. Keep it simple.

Okay so I keep a short beard. But today I completely shaved of my beard after a really long time i guess more than 2 years and I have to say shaving sucks atleast it's not the thing for me. I am 18.5 years old and I'm in this community since 2015. I am gonna grow my beard and make timelapse for the next 2-3 months (that's when my beard will come back in shape) and will share with you guys later on

I wash my beard everytime I have a shower .. then oil it ..
If I don't then it itches and feels greasy ..
I think this primarily just depends on each person. If I skip days, I start getting acne under the beard. I wash with water twice a day, and I use my face wash on the beard too every other day
To the point , terrific video .. I'm growing my quarantine beard , I've never grown my beard more than 8 weeks ... I trim it because I did not have the patience and the saloons were open .. but now .. I love my 10 week beard and moustache .. thank you for the guidance.

Well, as I see in all the comments, this is a pretty subjective thing. I think it not only depends on the lifestyle but also the place you live. I live in the Caribbean, so it’s hot and humid all year long and I feel the need to wash my beard everyday and it feels really good and soft. So it’s all a matter of your personal circumstances.
shampoo it everytime i shower if it feels or looks dry, i use extra virgin olive oil.
I personally wash 2 times per week and co-wash 5 times per week. So every day I’m using something, it’s worked for me so far and I’m almost 3 months into my beard
I wash my beard with a beardwash once a week (Sundays), co-wash maybe every third day or so and for the rest of the week i just rinse it with warm water. Works for me :)

9 times out of 10 I wash my beard everyday. When I was first growing it I would also wash it when it was driving me crazy so sometimes twice a day. However, I don’t use anything other than water. It’s super soft.

Yeah I do everyday. Work on a printing press. Ink, oil, and greese everyday. It is a must for me.
i personally find that my beard feels awful and wire-y after beard shampoo, so I go in with some beard oil and balm immediately after drying up the beard. Kinda feels like washing your hair and not putting any form of conditioner in after if you don't put in some product to the beard.

I find that if I use beard balm, I have to wash the beard that day. With just oil, i cowash and maybe use beardwash 1-2/week. I guess it's a matter of individual preference BUT Jack is so right: wash=strip hair of oils=wiry dry beard.. then you have to apply more beard oil and balm to make it look alive.
Idk. I wear a bipap machine and slobber at night sometimes. I definitely prefer to wash it the next morning. Which is definitely more than 2 times a week.

i´m 41 just started using beard shampoo or two in one...before that i used regular shampoo or bodywash...it was good but the beard shampoo conditioner is better and use beard moisturizer after that
I tried not washing my beard every 2nd day, and started getting dry skin and wounds at the chin. And yes, I do use oils and other products to keep it moistorised.

As a mechanic, i get pretty darn dirty, i will wash my face as usual but actually use beard wash 1 time a week , unless i wax my tash or something then ill wash it however many times in the week ive done that
Whenever I wash my beard with my shampoo (dove) it feels dry but when I use beard wash (cremo) it feels so much less dry and “normal”
I wash & condition the beard twice weekly, like my head hair. Good enough for me.

I absolutely NEED to wash my whole face at least four times a day, or else I would feel filthy and I would have pimples. I don't live on a desert island, I need to be clean! I use soft types of soap, and I use beard jelly about twice a day (just a little dab each time) and it's been perfectly fine for me. I also use beard conditioner when I shampoo, (which is also at least once a day). ;)

I wash it whenever I feel like it.
Fantastic video. I do a lot of hot/bikram yoga where I sweat excessively. About 10 hours or so a week and am a active person. Right now I wash my beard with beard wash 2-3 times per week and just rinse it with water all other days. Should I be washing it more? Thanks!

Nice video. A lot of great info. What about using aloe Vera to style your beard or to keep the skin underneath smooth? Is aloe Vera bad for your facial hair?
There actually is aloe vera in Beardbrand Beard Wash, so if you're looking for that effect (and a lot of other benefits) I'd say you're better off with the Beard Wash than the aloe vera alone. Of course, it's you're call, man, but I think it's worth a shot!

Notice that you grew your beard again after shaving off the yeard. Looks good. BTW I have passed the yeard mark. Now at Yeard+2 months. Hopefully when I measure it New Year's Day it will measure 12 inches. Of course since it is white, this time of year I often get called Santa.
Okay here’s what you do, co wash everyday, wash once a week/every couple of weeks. Imo just running water through no matter what your job is, is silly. You’re already in the shower!

Joaquin Romero Scott Barnes is another beard UA-cam channel dude and he uses hairdryer almost every day but he doesn’t dry the hell out of it. He goes from hot to cold setting pretty quickly and like I said does not dry the hell out of it, you should go check his channel out. He also has great tips on all beard care.

My thing is I work in construction (electrician) and most days I come home pretty dirty from the day's work, especially during the summer living in Texas and to not wash my face, beard included, can be pretty gross and lead to acne. Would cowashing still be a good alternative on the non beard washing days? I.e. wash on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Cowash on the other days?
For a more labor intensive job like yours, I'd lean more towards the 3 to 5 times of washing per week.

@@Beardbrand thank you Jack. I use the utility balm (and oil at times) daily after I shower, and the styling balm when I need that extra hold for a night out. Thinking about adding the beard softener though since we have pretty hard water here in San Antonio.

@Uncle Vin definitely don't have an acne issue at 39, just if I go a day or two without washing my face the pores will clog and a few unsightly whiteheads or under the skin pimples like to pop up. I was just making sure with the folks at beardbrand if washing my beard everyday due to construction work would still be ok as long as I oiled or balmed my beard after a shower. This is my first full beard and would like to care for it at the maximum level possible. Thanks for the input, though. Much appreciated. Cheers.

I tried beard soap once and it was a traumatic experience it sucked @ss lmao!!! It left residue , dandruff and gunk and no, I won't even try beard wash 🤮 so I wash it once a week with regular shampoo and conditioner because it leaves my beard 💯 clean and shiny for the rest of the week. 😁

I'd let it flow for a bit longer. If you want to go for a longer beard, it'll be easier to straighten out when the hair has more length.

@@Beardbrand Yes i will, this is the longest i go, now i want to grow it even more and see what and how it going on, im 18 my facial hairs are not so thick and i still dont have full beard but i still want to grow it. I noticed when i grow out for 25+ days i see little new hairs bright color on the area where i dont have beard, i like that hopefully it will grew out thicker and fuller one day... Thanks Jack!

Yes, that's totally normal. That means that some of your beard hairs have gone "terminal" and will no longer grow, so they fall out and are replaced by new ones.

Everyday is a little excessive, you can slowly drop down since you've gotten your beard used to everyday washing. I'd go 5 to 6 times a week for about two weeks. Then drop down to 4 to 5, and then finally 2 to 3.

I wash my beard with water every time I shower. Whenever I feel like it, I use a medicated bar soap. I think I washed my beard last week. Everyday I use a generic beard oil, the results are meh. :/ I'll have to get a beard balm from you guys.
