2 feet of 5/16" fuel hose
4 fuel injector clamps (O'Reillys)
Inline fuel filter (Autozone... Duralast FF3330DL)
Fuel Strainer (Suzuki... 15420-24FB0)... Yes they're $80. Sometimes you can get lucky and find them on ebay for way less. The Chinese ones will sometimes work. They're just not always the exact size needed and cause fitment issues. This works for all bowl type suzuki pumps through 2011 Hayabusa.

You guys are incredible. I watched your first video for this mod and it was good enough to fix my recently purchased 2002 GSXR600. While this video was cleaner than the first one, I did like how the first video was easier to see how to hold the drill for the bypass. But this information is incredibly useful. Many thanks for your work to make these videos. My bike died during use and refused to fire at all. After verifying that the plugs were sparking, I pulled the hose off of the fuel pump and watched it pump gas into a bucket. It was a very weak. My fuel pump was much more dirty and rusty than any video I found on UA-cam. I really thought it was a lost cause to fix it. But after shopping for a replacement, I decided it was worth the effort to try. The end result was incredible. Not only does the bike run now, it performs much better overall than it ever did for me before. There was so much crud that I did deviate a little from your advice. I tested the pump motor stand alone in my kitchen sink using hot water and Dawn in a 32 ounce plastic food container. I used a battery for power and verified that the pump worked fine. After the bypass, I used the same method to clean out the pump housing. I had to wire brush the rust and scale that was all over everything, But your modifications are wonderful. In my opinion the external filter is far superior to the original design. Again thank you.
Man, I really appreciate your kind words and details into how it helped you and the work you had to do to fix yours. So happy you have a good running bike again. Be safe out there 💪
Thank you for the updated video. Both seem to be very helpful. This is something I definitely need to do to my 02 1000. It seems to struggle priming the pump from time to time when I go to start it.
Yeah, the other one is quicker and can be figured out from it... But this one went into more detail and didn't get covered up. Lol
How did you do the flow test? Is that the same as turning the key on to activate the pump. While it's activated, it should get around 400 ml?
Why did you put the fuel filter inside the well back on? What if that gets clogged again then having an external filter is useless because you would have to open up the pump again? I understood the bypass with the drill but shouldn't the filter inside the well be off since you have an external filter now?
06 07 puel pumps you can swap out with a AEM in tank pump that's what I use and swapped to a 55psi regulator
Yeah... We do that in the Suzuki pumps too. We don't have to change the regulator though. The extra fuel flow increases the pressure on it's own.
@@TEAMWRIGHTEOUS cheaper than buying a new OEM pump by a few hundred and a off the shelf part 👌
@@kawasakieddy61 the pump itself very rarely goes bad. This isn't to fix a pump issue. This is to fix a non flowing fuel issue. More fuel volume isn't going to force it's way through the stopped up internal filter.
Thank you for the video. I did this mod on my 2000 busa with the fuel pump that was switched in the tank already.cleaned the injectors, however Bike is running sluggish like it is drowning in fuel. Any help?
Like
It’s running rich.
Does it have a power commander on it?
@@TEAMWRIGHTEOUSMay I ask why a PC would cause issues?
07 gsxr 750 3900 miles It doesn’t have any issue revving past 8k but when I’m in gear it falls on its face at 8k and won’t go higher, this is in all gears aswell, But if I turn the bike off and back on it doesn’t have this problem until about 15mins of riding, any ideas?
Have you done the fuel flow test to check and see how much fuel it's flowing?
@@TEAMWRIGHTEOUS not yet, it just started happening yesterday and I haven’t had time to check it yet, just looking for a good place to start
@@xZyphi understood. Yep, the test for it is super easy. The actual mod takes time and patience, but isn't very hard either.
Will this help my 01 1000 gsxr it is stumbling only at 5k rpm? Sounds like it’s not running on all cylinders been trying to fix this for a year now
Does it still pull all the way to redline?
Yes it just bogs out at 5k and only 5k and I let someone else take it down the street so I can hear it and it just sounded choppy like it wasn’t running good could it be a fuel injection problem bad injector I’m not sure I’m stumped
@@tylergallo8301 so, with it pulling all the way to redline and only having an issue there at 5k, I doubt this would be the issue. Because it's going to run out of fuel and not be able to pull past that point if fuel flow is the problem.
Quite possible could be the kickstand switch. At a certain rpm it vibrates just right to make it cut up.
That is a good suggestion never thought about it
So you cannot do this to a 07 gsxr 1k?
No, but you can buy the parts from Partzilla to fix the 07 and up 1000s and 08 up 600/750s.
hmmm, filter will be very hot. this will produce fuel to vaporize. or?
Not at all
What's the 3/16??? Looks like 3mm 3.5mm?
3/16" is 4.76mm
So anything slightly smaller than that will work.
You guys should take those logos off the bottom of the screen so the viewers can see what’s going on . An exactly what you guys are doing in detail instead of the logos blocking the view
I'm guessing you typed this about 10 seconds into the video? 🤣
