I watch your videos to get ideas for stuff to make. I decided to embrace technology and semi retired my 1913 White VS treadle and got a 1924 Singer 99 with electric knee bar. I am now almost caught up with the rest of the world. Love your channel
My IPad is my favourite piece of technology as I live on a boat and travel around . We are in the Eastern Caribbean at the moment and it keeps me in touch with family and friends as well as allowing me to watch quilting videos like urs
I love how you mention any mishaps that happen and how to correct it. How to correct mistakes are also important in completing our projects and have them looking great.
I made these for my kids while on vacation last summer so they wouldn't leave behind the chargers to the phones and they still use them at home. Such a fun and functional item to be able to make thank you for the tutorial.
i love this. you explain it sooo well. i love your channel rob. and i love that it is a man teaching sewing. i have four sons and its great to show and reassure them that sewing is not only for girls. keep up the wonderful work
Thanks for another fantastic project to add to my ever growing list of projects! 😊 Being disabled gives me lots of time to work on different projects for my family members. My favorite piece of technology is my stove. It's as old as I am and like me has been through some tough times buts it's still cooking and so am I.
Great little project there, thanks for sharing. I'd say my favorite piece(s) of technology is our washer/dryer. Could you imagine having to do everything by hand? So much time and effort. It allows you to spend more time enjoying life... and sewing! :-)
The very first piece of technology I owned was probably my blue Sony Walkman that played cassettes - it had a long strap so I could carry it on my shoulder and I'm sure I looked totally cool!!! Now I would have to say my favourite piece of technology has to be my teeny-tiny digital hearing aids. I rely on them so much - and without them I wouldn't be able to listen to Man Sewing!!
There are so many fascinating strides in technology. I agree with everything others said but my favorite is so under appreciated no one ever thinks about it but can't live without it. A toilet. Think about it. You do your business and flush it away. You don't have to think about it. It disposes for you. Imagine what it would be like without it. It's the one thing people cannot live without.
Rob - LOVE IT!!!!!! Anyone with a smart phone needs one of these!!!! As to favorite piece of technology....my iPhone followed by my computerized sewing machine:-)
Great idea. I modified your design. This will make the pouch less bulky. To make a breathable large front pocket I cut up a black mesh laundry bag for the large pocket. Then used firm stabilizer for the larger piece and fusible interfacing for the little pocket. I eliminated the mid-size pocket. Thank you for the tutorial on using up scraps of fabric.
Cool idea for my daughters new phone. This will really show my age but I loved when I got my first blow dryer and didn't have to wait lying in front of the furnace vent until the heat started blowing out to straighten my hair. I probably looked like a lion but you can't tell teenage girls anything because they already know it all. Love your tutorials.
You are awesome! Love energy and the tutorials!! Keep them coming please! As far as fav piece of technology I would have to say my tablet. Cannot live without it, and use it in place of my laptop for almost everything, of course my sewing machines are right up there too lol. Thanks for another awesome tut!
So much technology - how do you choose one favorite?!? But if pressed, I would have to choose the computer - of course, that's led to everything else computerized, but once I started using a PC, I never looked back! Thanks for your great tutorials, Rob. And thanks for your endangered species patterns. I made the Bengal tiger quilt and gave it to my daughter for graduation - it turned out beautifully!
Barbara McKenzie I'm with you on that one, so many conveniences that we have today! It's hard to pick one piece of technology that beats the rest!! Thanks for watching the tutorials and following along! Make sure and share a picture of that quilt with us! You can email it to hello@mansewing.com or share it with us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, whatever is easiest for you! Thanks again!!
Rob you are the shit. Always bringing us new stuff to make. I love these long and strong videos so don't ever rush yourself. These videos are very relaxing despite his high energy they are. Stay awesome and thanks so much! Oh and I guess I love the smith machine at my gym. Eliminates the need for spotters.
The AccuGo cutter. It's not computerized but it allows me to continue to be able to cut my patchwork accurately and saves my wrists and hands. Love your videos
Sheri Sterling can't complain with that one! That sounds like a nice addition to my sewing room! I'll have to look into getting one!! Thanks for watching!
Fantastic job on all of your tutorials, man.! Keeps me watching for hours at a time!! My favorite gadget is my electric toothbrush ... I almost feel like I'm back in the stone ages, if I ever have to use my manual toothbrush.!
I would have to say my favorite piece of technology is my DreamCreator XE. I just got it to replace my "starter" embroidery machine. I will be able to go from stitching, to quilting, to embroidering the quilt label all on one machine!
Just love your videos and this is a great idea 😊 As to techs - I should say my sewing machine because I'm watching a sewing tutorial and it's high up there but I do love my computer (where I'm watching the tutorial 😊) and my Kindle more than my sewing machine!! Thanks for the videos 😊
Love Man Sewing!!! Love your energy and easy projects. I definitely will be making some of these tech chargers for gifts. I'm quite a techie so it would be hard to choose just one. After reading all the other comments, I'd have to agree that the clothes washer/dryer is right up there. No one mentioned a toilet. If you've ever had to use a "privie," you can appreciate a toilet. Some today are getting very techie, but just a plain one suits me fine! Can't live without my laptop and cell phone either!! I agree that a few written notes would help. Near the beginning of Jenny's tutorials, there is a graphic that shows the item plus materials needed. Could you insert something like that in yours? Thanks for all your videos. I'm looking forward to watching others.
Love this. I'm going to go with my smart phone. I can pay bills, order pizza, fill prescriptions, daughters pull up online textbooks, watch UA-cam ;), Google at my fingertips, calendar, make and receive phone calls, listen to music, and the list goes on and on! So this pocket charge station is perfect!
Thanks for another great video! This would be an awesome way to use all those scraps that we are all notorious for saving, it would make a great gift too. I am blessed with a job with summers off, so I'm just excited to start some wonderful projects! Thanks for sharing. As for favorite technology oh boy, that's a tough one. I agree with another viewer about the DVR - it's so simple. You don't have to remember to have a tape in your machine.
My cell phone is my favorite to keep in touch with everyone. Making a holder to wear around my neck similar to what you did but just a pocket has helped me get calls when the volume is off during meetings. It also has a place for my work badge.
My absolute favourite piece of technology - of all time? The washing machine. Imagine having to handwash clothes and bedding? No thanks. This project looks great - I'm definitely making that. Might get me out of this rut I'm in.
hey I love this and I have a lot of extra fabric laying around mainly sizes that actually fit the way you made this cell phone bag I wasn't wondering could I use binding around the circle side instead of the plastic and if it's sturdy enough
Funny you should ask about favorite technology as while I have been watching your videos, I've been fascinated with your iron! LOL. Love how it pops up when you set it down on it's face. Did it take a while to get used to just plopping it down like that as opposed to standing it up like we've always had to do? Thanks for another awesome project to make! Have an awesome day! ~Liz~
lizzyanthus1 oh yes, my iron is a great piece of technology!! I absolutely love it! It did take some getting used to, I'm pretty spoiled now. When I use someone's iron I almost forget to set it back up.... :/ Thanks for watching!!
It is funny you asked the question about favorite technology because I was just thinking the other day of all the things I have seen come to be. The very first new thing I ever purchased as a teen was a transistor radio, now I own an Ipad the has not only music but videos games and learning capabilities.WOW have we come a long way.
Rob, love your videos. My favorite technology is pretty old school but pretty convenient in Minnesota--my garage door opener. Fun technology--sewing/embroidery machine, scan n cut, iPhone, iMac, iPad.
Aside from iPhone 6, the Silhouette Cameo is it! I freezer paper appliqué and used to have to draw a design on freezer paper, fold it into 6 layers, and then cut out with scissors. Now, I scan my design into Cameo software, edit if necessary, send it to Silhouette machine, and it cuts a page of templates in less than 10 minutes (think 500+ leaves for a floral appliqué quilt). No more blisters and absolutely perfect freezer paper templates. It could be used to cut the fabric designs as well.
Great Video! Tablet, I would like something made so the tablet would not drop or fall to the ground. Maybe attached at the waist or wrist. So as not to slide off your lap.
My favorite piece of technology is... That's tough.... Used to be the television because when I was a kid my pawpaw and I would watch "Sonny and Cher's" variety show before he had so many strokes due to a traumatic brain injury he received in 1969 (before I was born/adopted). We'd pretend we were Sonny and Cher... It was so fun. Then I thought my dad's boat was the best technology because after he and my mom divorced our favorite thing to do was go fishing or trawling. Now I think the internet and handheld ways to use it are the best technology... Why? Because it allows me and my 2 kids, especially my oldest son because he's autistic (high functioning) and doesn't talk much (verbally, just not "interested" in actual speaking) it allows all of us to really communicate even though they still live at home with their girlfriends (my boys are 22, 23 in early July and 18, 19 in mid-October and girlfriends are 22 and 24 respectfully). So depending which time in my life depends on which technology was my favorite.
my God you really know how to teach and you fun, thank you so much Granny Sylvia from Puerto Rico...keep up the great work ... my 4sons like to sew too. and I talk about you and your projects
I don't know if I would use this, but it might just be a great gift for someone down the line (you know Christmas is 8 months away... gotta get started on the gifts). As for my favorite piece of tech... right now, it's the Amazon Echo. I have it in my kitchen and it's all voice controlled. I can listen to radio stations that stream on the Internet, get news and sports updates, and so much more. I'm wondering if we'll get to a point where they'll be voice controlled sewing... "Stop here and backstitch!"
Super cute. My favorite piece of technology is absolutely the washing machine. I sure would hate to wash all of my clothes by hand. I can live without most of the rest of it, but that would be the hardest to give up.
Three questions for you 🙂 Can you use clear vinyl self adhesive instead of Sew Slip or stick with the professional example? Also, with the Sew Slip, is there a benefit with the rectangle hole vs the round hole? And lastly, where can I order the bicycle clips for rolling up the quilt? (I live in Mexico and there is little available here for quilting) Thx! Love your videos! Keressa
you really want me to narrow it down? I'm a technophile ( :. First and formost would be my COMPUTER!!!! without that i couldn't watch your videos. (i enjoy the bigger screens then the phones) I'm also a gamer so i need my ps4, ps3, xbox 360, xbox one, wii u..... ect. All 4 of my embroidery machines and all 4 of my sewing machines. There are many more as you can most likely guess. But my cell phone is one of them and a lot of the time i forget to charge it. Maybe after making this project I won't forget anymore. ( : thanks for another GREAT video. you really should sell patterns to go with them to. I keep telling everyone here in Chandler AZ about Man sewing.
I love this. I travel a lot. Hate all my cords that I have to carry. Now everything will be together, Now to find the instructions, Which I can't find. Help Thanks Rob
LOL thank-You I will make alot for my Grandsons and Sisters.I would have to say I love love my George Foreman Grill use it all time ,it has it's own place on counter .Have nice week.May God Bless You and your Family. P.S Daughter will not be to mad if You, replace it with some new ones.
That green tool holder behind you on the wall with the hat hanging on it, did you make that? If so, could you show us how you did it, and if not, could you tell where you got it?
when I am going to turn to right side I sew from outer edge 1/4 inch in that turn and continue to sew around outside, when I get to where I want the opening in turn and sew off the edge again. this makes it easier to turn the edge inside the piece with out pulling the stitching out.
In other words, stitch perpendicular to the raw edge for 1/4" (seam allowance), then pivot and stitch around, ending with a pivot and stitching across the seam allowance again.
I'd love to see instructions with fabric sizes written out. Hard to catch it all when it is only verbal in the video. The links go to the supplies, but no instructions.. ; {
I was just thinking - what if you took a piece of the sewable plastic (no idea what it's called but I have a friend who used some to hang up at the fair and announce each year who winners were in different categories). What if you used a piece of that and used it as the front so when the phone is charging it would show through so if someone called you could see without pulling the phone out? That seems like something right up your alley Rob :)
Just a thought, if you're going to hang the grommet from your charger, PLEASE make sure it's plastic and not metal! Ask me how I know... If you've used a metal grommet, then maybe put a small command hook next to your outlet to hang it from instead. As for the technology question, I'm an IT nerd, so PCs will always be my favourite tech. But I love all kinds of tech and gadgets, so after that I can't choose because I love them all!
good show...is not the best finished home made items ,,,but I am proud of you... By the way...my best fav tech items are sewing machine ,and the great kitchen mixer,,as I love baking too. now my show idea to you... how to decorated a christmas tree with home made fabric decorations
Jessica Volenski Here's a link!! www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/detail/6347/oliso/-/oliso-auto-lift-pro-zone-iron If you add it to your wishlist on their website, you'll get an email as soon as they come back in stock!
It took me awhile to figure out what size grommet to use, but if you click on the supplies list just below the tutorial, it will take you to the page with the various items you need. Then you can click on the package of grommets shown there and it says they are 1 9/16" grommets. Gee, if I had to pick a favorite piece of technology I guess it would have to be my sewing machine. I can make things with it, I could write down the notes I put in my cell phone. Then I would have to get a land line, but that could work. Keep up the great work, Rob.
Well my favorite used to be my computerized sewing machine but it is no longer working. So I would say my Cricut cutter. Love it. Can cut pretty much anything. angel hugs Debby
I watch your videos to get ideas for stuff to make. I decided to embrace technology and semi retired my 1913 White VS treadle and got a 1924 Singer 99 with electric knee bar. I am now almost caught up with the rest of the world.

The very first piece of technology I owned was probably my blue Sony Walkman that played cassettes - it had a long strap so I could carry it on my shoulder and I'm sure I looked totally cool!!! Rob this is so wonderful! Great Christmas/birthday gift idea. Thanks! I'm blind and my favorite technology is my bioptic. It enables me to see better.

Connie Duffey I can't stop making them, they're just so easy to NOT make them!!! Thanks for the awesome comment!

I probably looked like a lion but you can't tell teenage girls anything because they already know it all. Love your tutorials.

Karla Goddard It's that time of year!! Thanks for watching!

Stay awesome and thanks so much!
Oh and I guess I love the smith machine at my gym. Eliminates the need for spotters.
KnitOutTheJams thanks for the support! Couldn't do it without the supportive fans! Thanks for watching!
Man Sewing Thanks, I hope you do, you won't be sorry!
DVR! I could live without my cell phone, computer (ok, maybe not this) but for me, the DVR is the greatest invention of all time.
Thank you for your tutorials. They are easy for me to understand and follow.
First would be my tablet to watch these videos for inspiration. Second would be my sewing machine of course.
bronwyn hocking You could make one of these for your tablet! That would be sweet!
I will have to now. I've some scraps that would be perfect for this project
Great ideas Rob and you make it look so easy
Love this idea! Excellent tutorial Rob!
Kristi Carr can't go wrong with that!!! Thanks for watching!
love the video, this idea is fantastic for my husband, he always let the phone everywhere. thanks
I love your videos. Thank you for transmitting their knowledge. Happy Birthday.
Jailma Rocha thanks so much!!
What a great idea! good for you! :)
My absolute favourite piece of technology - of all time? The washing machine. Imagine having to handwash clothes and bedding? No thanks.
This project looks great - I'm definitely making that. Might get me out of this rut I'm in.
Lotta Andersson I would definitely have to agree that the washing machine is one of my favorites, too! Thanks for watching! Have fun making this!
hey I love this and I have a lot of extra fabric laying around mainly sizes that actually fit the way you made this cell phone bag I wasn't wondering could I use binding around the circle side instead of the plastic and if it's sturdy enough
Judy Jensen hasn't technology just changed so much?? It's insane! I can't complain though, I love my tech conveniences!
Rob, love your videos. My favorite technology is pretty old school but pretty convenient in Minnesota--my garage door opener. Fun technology--sewing/embroidery machine, scan n cut, iPhone, iMac, iPad.
I never even thought about that! Love it!!! Garage door openers are one of the greater conveniences in life!
My kindle is my favorite piece of technology - I use it every day :)
It could be used to cut the fabric designs as well.
ncmaggied that's sweet!! I'll have to look into that! Thanks!
Fantastic!! Next project on my list! Thank you, Rob.
I would love to see how to make a flash drive holder to hold several flash drives. I love your videos you are the greatest.

My spinning wheel is my favourite piece of technology!

I like this idea ..... I organising my first mini hone studio for my craft I will use this maybe for my Sissons to keep them close the station

My Favorite piece of Technology is of course my computer! I love watching you and Jennie for inspiration!
Rob, my sewing machine of course, then my iPhone. Thanks Cheryl
Cheryl Matthews those are great technology pieces to own!!

That is fabulous. I'll be making some of these!
Great Video! Tablet, I would like something made so the tablet would not drop or fall to the ground. Maybe attached at the waist or wrist. So as not to slide off your lap.

This is wonderful, thanks!
Hello, love this tech, charge pouch! 😁💚 Erica x
Thank you for the great video. 😃
I don't know if I would use this, but it might just be a great gift for someone down the line (you know Christmas is 8 months away... gotta get started on the gifts).
As for my favorite piece of tech... right now, it's the Amazon Echo. I have it in my kitchen and it's all voice controlled. you so great making this for my next project thanks
my new baby lock and cell phone are my fave 😊😊
Super cute. My favorite piece of technology is absolutely the washing machine. I sure would hate to wash all of my clothes by hand. I can live without most of the rest of it, but that would be the hardest to give up.
EmilyRoseThunderFan I can agree with you on that one! Thanks for commenting!

I am so making these for xmas gifts
That green tool holder behind you on the wall with the hat hanging on it, did you make that? If so, could you show us how you did it, and if not, could you tell where you got it?
Angelika Sheffield that is my Sewmando bag and I'll be showing you what's inside in an upcoming tutorial! :)
ok ty
when I am going to turn to right side I sew from outer edge 1/4 inch in that turn and continue to sew around outside, when I get to where I want the opening in turn and sew off the edge again. this makes it easier to turn the edge inside the piece with out pulling the stitching out.
lois willingham can you explain this a different way as I don't quite understand it
In other words, stitch perpendicular to the raw edge for 1/4" (seam allowance), then pivot and stitch around, ending with a pivot and stitching across the seam allowance again.
I'd love to see instructions with fabric sizes written out. Hard to catch it all when it is only verbal in the video. The links go to the supplies, but no instructions.. ; {
LAKBerry we'll have to see what we can come up with! Thanks for the input!
Fantastic!
What kind of batting did you use? I can't seem to find it in the materials list.
I love my iPad!
Thanks for the tut. My favorite technology is the crock pot!!!
helgy2009 that's a great piece of technology for sure!!
Looking to make a cover for my IPad Pro 9x12 . Help!
Will make one of this❤️❤️❤️
hi rob could you please let me know were you can buy the gromets from please
What size grommets are the ones you are using in the video?
I was just thinking - what if you took a piece of the sewable plastic (no idea what it's called but I have a friend who used some to hang up at the fair and announce each year who winners were in different categories). What if you used a piece of that and used it as the front so when the phone is charging it would show through so if someone called you could see without pulling the phone out? That seems like something right up your alley Rob :)
Thank you for the tip! That sounds like a great way to customize the tech charging station! Thanks for tuning in!
It would be helpful if you could give us written instructions . I need to look at instructions when I am making an item. I really enjoy your videos.
mary young I'll have to get some written instructions put together!
Dee L thanks for the awesome feedback!!
good show...is not the best finished home made items ,,,but I am proud of you... By the way...my best fav tech items are sewing machine ,and the great kitchen mixer,,as I love baking too. now my show idea to you... how to decorated a christmas tree with home made fabric decorations
Dude where can i find an iron like yours??? I definitely need something like that! lol
Jessica Volenski Here's a link!! www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/detail/6347/oliso/-/oliso-auto-lift-pro-zone-iron If you add it to your wishlist on their website, you'll get an email as soon as they come back in stock!
Thanks for the link and the tip! :)
Instead of batting can you use fusible fleece?
I did. Worked great!
Are you using 1 9/16" grommet? I purchased 25 mm from Missouri Star Quilt and they are WAY TOO SMALL. I did not see a size on your video...
Yes, I used 1 9/16" So sorry about that!
Sewing machine and rotary cutter!
3zandra3 that's what I'm talking about!!
please help Rob having trouble with my grommets can't seem to work
Hey Mark! What is the problem you are having with the grommets? Can you give me a few more details?
Can't seem to get them to go into the fabric right should I be cutting hole 1st or could there be a problem with the tool as the seem to go in of line
Can anyone tell me what size cell phone this will fit?
I love the fact that Jesus forgive sins he can forgive you in the tuff times we are going into
Well my favorite used to be my computerized sewing machine but it is no longer working. So I would say my Cricut cutter. Love it. Can cut pretty much anything.
angel hugs
Debby
perfectangel60 that's too bad that it stopped working! Hopefully it's fixable! Thanks for your comment!
My favorite tech thing is really not a tech thing. It is my propane kitchen stove.
Linda Daley can't argue with that! That's awesome!
Hi love my Samsumg tablet and phone
My cricut maker.
You said 10 strips on the big one, my 5x10 is smaller than the 10 strips sewn together
